I'm thinking of putting Slaking on my team, despite it's ability, it still sounds good to me. Well...here was what I was thinking.

    Slaking-Careful [+Sp. Def/-Sp. Atk]@Choice Band
    Hyper Beam/Return???
    Earthquake
    Brick Break
    Shadowball/Rest???

I have a question about the move Return. In the guides on GameFaqs it seems to say that the move Return lets you switch your Pokemon but umm..can it?

EDIT: Question about Truant. Does it mean it attakcs like...
Attack, wait, wait, Attack, wait, wait, Attack, etc
    OR
Attack, wait, attack, wait, attack, etc.

lol... go and sue whoever wrote that guide. Return is just a 102 attack power move (Netbattle assumes max happiness or least happiness)

Slaking is one of the only cases where Hyperbeam SHOULD be used. You skip a turn anyway... why not hyperbeam? Plus STAB with an attack power like that is so cool.

I'll put flamethrower or thunderbolt for the last move... shall any metal chicken try to be cheesy, go shock/burn the living daylight out of them, and then type "PwNeD!" =p 95 base sp.att isn't bad at all. It's almost as high as Starmie's.

Okay...you seem hypered today (pun not intended).

So what about my question about the Traunt thingy? I edited it so you might not of noticed while you wre responding.

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. ROFLMAO. I jsut killed 5 of my friends 6 Pokemon with no problem at all using just Slaking and Hyper Beam. STAB+Choice Band+High Attack Power=WHEEEEE His Ky00ber left it with 50 HP left and I killed it ez. But then Slaking died to Bellosom with SleepPow...

    HAHAHAHAHAHA

    I prefer:

    Slaking@Liechi Berry
    Thunderbolt
    Hyper Beam
    Slack Off
    Aerial ace

Slaking is very easy to defeat... going head on head against it is not a smart move... I usually send off my weakest Pokemon to block the hyperbeam and die if Sceptile/Alakazam isn't out. Then... send one of them out, and have a lot of fun doing this:

    1st turn
    Alakazam used substitute
    Slaking used Hyperbeam/whatever (blocked)

    2nd turn
    Alakazam used calm mind
    [truant]

    3rd turn
    Alakazam used substitute
    Slaking used something [block]

    4th turn
    Alakazam used calm mind
    [Truant]

    5th turn
    Alakazam used substitute
    Slaking used something [block]

    6th turn
    Alakazam used substitute
    [Truant]
    -activate petaya

Sweep away! Alakazam now has 4 calm mind worth of sp.attack, and a sub to block one quick attack. Slaking can be an excellent time for protect/sub users to abuse truant to powerup.

EDIT: Slack off? why bother healing 1/4 of your hp? (healing 1/2 of your hp over 2 turn of time is sucky)

    DON'T RUIN MY MOMENT FROSTY.

Eh...none of my friends are that smart to do all that anyways.

you know what you could do? teach it Skill swap. swap with your opponent. watch as he gets traunt, and you get to attack every turn.

and thank goodness that Gamefreak is smart and doesn't give Slaking skill swap, or sableye wonder guard ^_^

    However, skill swapping is VERY common with Slaking. I taught Dark Heaven to use Xatu/Slaking + rest combo and swept for a short while on NB's 2vs2 division ^_^;

And that moveset is going to be eaten alive by Metal Chicken of Doom

    "Sableye uses Skill Swap!
    But it failed"

    simple questions =p

    However... on the other hand...

    Shedinja vs Alakazam

    "Return Alakazam! Go Porygon2!"
    Porygon2's trace traced Wonder Guard!

Trace on the other hand... works "wonders" ^_^

I have yet to see Skill swap fail. now, somtimes Shedinja dies before Sableye can skill swap. and which person that is sane is goign to use shedinja in a serious battle? after Sableye gets wonder guard, Shedinja dies, and Sableye starts using.. Focus Punch.. don't laugh, it's actually a good move on a Sableye, as long as you are certian it won't get hit

Skill Swap cannot get wonder guard... they already know sableye in advance ^_^; Skill Swap will always fail. Trace is the only way to steal wonder guard.

Who's sane to use Shedinja in a real battle? Why If I know that I'm against a Ky00ber team, why not?

or maybe more bugs for netbattle to fix...

Another day I'll test it against myself to see if shedinja/sableye can swap off each other via netbattle, and confirm it for you.

    Slaking@Choice Band[+Def/-Sp.Atk]
    252 Sp. Def, 129 Speed, 129 Atk
    Hyper Beam
    Shadowball
    Brick Break
    Flamethrower

Is Choice Band really needed here? I was just thinking that Hyper Beam would be even more powerful with STAB and 1.5 Choice Band Attack boost with Slak's already high Attack, but would Hyper Beam be just as (almost?) good without the Band?

EDIT: Is there any way/item that can raise Hyper Beam's accuracy? I know it's 90 percent and that's high but Slak gets murdered whenever it misses.

Nope... or else everyone will be using a Ninjask/Nincada+Fissure combo.

Choice band gives Slaking's base attack a free Howl. It adds a extra 50% to Slaking's attack power, making it from "almost alive" to "gurantee dead unless you're Skarmory." Plus usually Slaking must switch out after that one release of Hyperbeam anyway so the negative effect of choice band really doesn't affect Slaking that much.

Actually not being able to switch is a pretty big deal for Slaking, since it really shouldn?t stay out on its truant turn. Hmm.
