I'm kind of at a cross-Roads becuase if it doesnt evolve it's obviously going to lose strength and sp atk so nasty plot would basically be the same as if i just evolved to monferno right?

Yes, and you can use a Heart Scale for whatever moves you missed.

In fact, thats what I did in order to get Curse at an earlier level for Turtwig.

No. Level up Chimchar, then evolve when you get Nasty Plot. The Heart Scale only works on pokes that learns the move at their current form.

But if I Dont evolve it won't I lose the Spatk+Atak+Defense and all other stats considering I didnt evolve it in the first place, and how do I evolve it if I stopped its evolution I cant remember but is it that when you stop the evolution it keeps evolving every level up it gets and I just keep stopping it until I want it to evolve?

Exactly. If you EV train, they will keep those even after evolution. You can use an Everstone to hold off evolution, then remove it, lvl up, then evolve.

nasty plot is handy for the ever so popular infernape.

    Infernape@life orb
    blaze
    hasty/naive
    252sp.att 232speed 26att
    -close combat
-flamethrower<--TM or learn as chimchar really late. in which case you need heart scale to learn close combat.
    -grass knot<--TM
    -nasty plot<--learned as chimchar

don't worry about your stats. you can always evolve it later and nasty plot is a very good move.

It won't hurt to hold off evolution. I beat Crystal with just Chikorita. Granted, I was young, and following the "Ash doesn't evolve Pikachu", so I wouldn't recommend that.

actually no, you're wrong, infernape is known to create switches so you'll have plenty of oppurtunities.

    eg:
-blissey switches out(to avoid close combat) and kingdra switches in.
-infernape uses nasty plot. infernape's sp.att sharply rose

of course it's not that simple either. the opponent could counter with a fast pokemon like starmie instead of kingdra so it may be smarter to use grass knot instead of nasty plot. then again, if your foe is familiar with your style it'll leave blissey in to take grass knot and use twave to render infernape useless. so really, nothing is that simple, but pulling off nasty plot is quite easy.

CB Infernape is cooler. There are so many other great Pokemon to use Nasty Plot with, like Porygon-Z.

Not exactly true. Only Chimcar can learn Nasty Plot in it's first stage.

This is for adventure later on to competitive wise right? I would keep it to level 23 for Nasty Plot. Chimcar can survive the harsh world of random trainers.

I didn't make myself clear. You can gain back any moves in your current stage.

    I don't believe Infernape can learn Nasty Plot with a Heart Scale . x_x;

I think Penguinpal gets what I'm saying. In your current stage the moves they learn, you can get back. I never said Infernapr gets Nasty Plot. Even Shinji got what I said. No prob, I can see where you got confuzzeld, I didn't type clearly.

If I evolve Roselia at level 70, that Roserade can never get back Aromatherapy, even if it forgot it, cause it is not in Roserade's moveset, it's in Roselia. Did I make myself clear that time? I hope so, cause I'm not the best at explaining things.
