Sheer cold nerf-Not absolute zero anymore?

    What do you guys think about nerfing a move that already has bad accuracy? It gets an immunity despite previous games stating its absolute zero, which would mean, it would really stop everything. I am just a bit dissapointed they even changed the moves description now, now the move doesn't sound as cool :p
     
    It is so sad how every insta-OHKO move now has a certain type immune to it. But Sheer Cold was made from the best of those moves to now being the worst by making it even less accurate when not used by an Ice-type.

    It really makes all the nerfs this generation very questionable.
     
    I don't think it saw any competitive usage anyway.

    Actually I heard from a bunch of sources, most of the mechanic changes were due to VGC. Sheer cold smeargles was a viable build.

    I mean I guess if you roll play no guard accuracy nerf doesn't matter, but having a type immunity kills it. I mean no doubt gen 6 and bellow it doesn't even matter but if a DPPt remake carries the same mechanics its gonna suck. I mean its Japanese name is absolute zero, which in terms of physics would cause even nothing to collapse so I don't understand the immunity :P

    Idk maybe z moves and other mechanics won't exist if this gen doesn't do as well?!?!
     
    It is very interesting that Game Freak picks up on tactics that are being spammed at VGC tournaments. I guess 6th Gen had so many crazy strategies spammed that it caused so many changes in 7th Gen.
     
    I believe the reason for the nerf of all OHKO moves is because someone at Game Freak may have been eavesdropping on the community's discussion on No Guard Machamp with Fissure once they're transferred from RBY onto SM.

    Yeah, well I guess VGC is closed to the official tournament but really I thought there was no point when you could easily counter a skill swap no guard strat. Also sturdy still works fine and if someone does use gastro acid to nullify it and you don't ko him/her before, I think you deserve to loose that round :P

    See that would be weird because wouldn't they just nerf fissure? Only sheer cold got nerfed. The other moves are fine and don't loose accuracy at all if sketched by smeargle? Honestly the accuracy nerf is fine with me! Just the immunity kind of disappointing to me, how can something be immune to absolute zero? :v

    I guess it's because Game Freak wanted to buff Ice types by making Sheer Cold only work for them and no one else.
     
    Pinkie has a point. Ice-types have been getting lots of buffs this generation, not just with Sheer Cold having better accuracy when used by them, but also getting an exclusive new move in Aurora Veil that is a dual screens for hail only, plus Alolan Sandslash and Beartic getting the new Slush Rush which is essentially the hail version of Chlorophyll/Swift Swim/Sand Rush.

    Hmm makese sense, but why the immunity though :/ That is my only gripe. Remove immunity, keep its accuracy nerf and im all set!
