Ok, so I'm making this guy my special attacker. Obviously his horrible defences aren't going to allow him much battle time, so I wasn't planning on having any non-attacking moves on him.

    Sharpedo (+Special Attack, -Attack)

EVs in Special Attack and Speed. 6 to HP.

    Hydro Pump
    Crunch
    Ice Beam
    [No idea]

I was thinking of throwing Earthquake in the last slot just for the fun of it. Even having neglected his Attack EVs and given him an anti-Attack personality, the stat will still most likely reach the mid-200 mark. Unless there's anything else to slot in there, then I'm lost. Little help?

I suppose you could give it a Hidden Power Special. Either HP Psychic (for Fighting Weakness) or HP Fire (for Grass and Bug Weakness) would probably work well with a Sharpedo. If you don't want to use HP, then there is always... nah nothing. It's best to go with Hidden Power :D

    Sharpedo- [spd + / atk -] @ choice band
    EV: Atk and Spd
    -Return/Double Edge
    -Earthquake
    -HP Fighting
    -Hydro Pump (anti Wheezing/Skarmory)

This thing cannot stand one attack, so let's just abuse choice band + >339 attack power. Go out there, and let choice band do the rest. Switch if necessary. If you switch in against a Wheezing/Skarmory, use Hydro instead. Don't use special attack as there's starmie who can do it a lot better with a higher sp.attack and a higher speed.

Sharpedo's worst enemy: Dodrio, Arcanine, Linoone, or anything faster than it

raises your attack by 50% (only attack, not special attack), but you may only use the first attack you chose in the last switchin for the remainder of the time it spends switched in.

eg: You switch it in, chooses hyper beam. Then it can't use any other attack until you switch it out and back in.

    Aye, I understand now.

Well, I guess I'll go that route. Even though I was looking for a Special attacking Dark type (Ruby/Sapphire hasn't been very kind in that area). I'll hold out 'til FR/LG for that ol' favourite, Houndoom. ;)

    Cheers people.

    Thrash? :|

130 base Attack vs 40 base Defence = >_< I'd rather not force myself into confusion with those two opposing stats. Besides, Slash is only slightly weaker than Thrash (and you get to keep control of Sharpedo), and Double Edge is more powerful.

Do not ever use slash... after RBY it is completely useless. Whatever Slash can do, Return does it better. Double edge should be used imho for suicidal attackers like Sharpedo, who risks everything into one attack.

then you might as well go hyper beaming :p
