I have a Venusaur in my LG with Secret Power. Does anyone have a guide to what it does? It seems to me that on regular land, it's like slam, on water, like surf, on sand, like mud shot and in buildings just weird. But it never changes its type - normal. Any ideas?

I see...does it have any effects other than that? I noticed that when using the slam version, some pokemon got paralyzed, and when using the mud shot version, some got reduced accuracy. BUT, I used the surf version against a Tentacool and it did normal damage. SO...I guess it's the same as all the other attacks in everything but type.

Secret Power can have different effects depending on your location (water, grass, caves, etc.), and it will stay the normal type regardless of the effect (i.e. Surf effect is still a normal-type attack.)

That's pretty much all it does.

Secret Power is a Normal-type move. A Normal-type Pokemon will receive STAB bonus when using it. It has 70 AP with 20 PP and is 100% accurate. There is also a 30% that a side effect will happen when it is used. The effect is actually influenced by the terrain:

Grass/Puddles/Shallow Water: 30% chance of inflicting Sleep on the target.
Surfing in Pond: 30% chance of target's Speed being lowered by 1 stage.
Surfing in River or Ocean: 30% chance of target's Attack being lowered by 1 stage.
Diving underwater: 30% chance of target's Defense being lowered by 1 stage.
Beach/Desert Sand: 30% chance of target's Accuracy being lowered by 1 stage.
Rocky terrain: 30% chance of inflicting Confusion on the target.
Ashy terrain: 30% chance of inflicting Poison on the target.
Cave: 30% chance of causing target to Flinch.
Everywhere else (including Link battles): 30% chance of inflicting Paralyze on the target.

Also, as it was stated, in RSE the move can be used in certain areas to create a Secret Base.

    Wow, that was helpful!

    Thanks for the guides!

I was wondering why the Leet 4 kept getting paralyzed =)
