    Walking the sandstorm of Route 4 the first time, I could not help but wonder at why there is construction related barriers preventing me from seeing the eastern side (the right side) of the desert region of Unova.

    Anticipating it to be explorable when I defeated the Elite 4, I returned to Route 4.

    But what's this? Still I cannot explore any further?

    What could lie beyond those barriers? Thoughts?

    Well, according to OMG Facts, the Unova region is based on New York, and the construction site is Ground Zero, where the terrorists flew the planes into the buildings. If you look at the map from a birds' eye view, you can even see the ruins of the buildings. But I'm not sure, it's just a guess from some people online. XD;

    Problem with that is that if you do look at Unova as analogous the New York metropolitan area, the twin towers would've been a fair bit south, right in the middle of Castelia City. But I do see the correlation and would appreciate the symbolism if this theory was true and it was just moved a bit further north for gameplay purposes. :/

    Yeah, they don't belong there, the area was destroyed by a meteor, and the ruined buildings are ancient towers and temples, not skyscrapers. The desert is there because they wanted people to get Ground Pokemon before the Electric Gym. Whoo, conspiracy theories.

    On the topic of inaccessible areas, what about that gate in Driftveil City? I always wanted to know what was beyond there...

    That's definitely the one that bothered me the most. I kept trying to find ways to get beyond it haha. I thought perhaps surfing? Maybe after the E4? But nope, still blocked. Really would have liked there to be something interesting to venture into.

    There's an open door! Why can't I go into the open door?! D:

    It's probably more construction work, as well as whatever they're building. Perhaps we will see what it is in Grey?

    Omg, the Driftveil Gate, I was so disappointed that I couldn't get past there. :( I totally forgot all about it til it was mentioned!

    But as for the desert...I really don't know. Maybe it's a secret area you can only access in the third game? I can't think of any other inaccessable areas that annoy me tbh. OH WAIT.

    I so wish we could surf directly in front of Nuvema. I know it's not exactly an unknown area, but still, I just wanna surf there. ;___;

    I wish we could Surf the whole map... like up the rivers and stuff. idk why we aren't allowed!! I mean other than the killer piranhas in the river there shouldn't be anything stopping us from surfing the map. Or even just Surfing during day time, because of the Royal Unova the sails around during evenings.

    I saw a video of some guy on youtube who hacked using ar codes to walk through walls...And when he used it, he went to the East side of Route4. There's nothing. Except for some guy. He is one of the construction workers, and he's floating in air. Whats weird is you can battle him and he gives you money...
    And that gate at Driftveil city IS annyoing!! I keep trying to get through, but the guy just says something about the Cold Storage.

    My theory is that in the third game, it will be the area where you find the third legendary thing, but currently its "Under Construction". Or maybe its the site of the real Team Plasma HQ, and those construction workers are actually team plasma members incognito XD. Other than that I believe it was just added to make us speculate and guess...Leave us wondering "WHAT THE PIKACHU IS PAST THOSE BARRICADES?!?!".

    have you actually seen the rivers along Manhattan? trust me it is not somewhere you would want to surf. lol

    and that gate in driftvile. why gamefreak? why must you taunt me so?!

    the desert is being turned into a resort according to the construction dudes. maybe in the third game there could be some buildings?

    Maybe you can with the help of the AR Walk-Through-Walls cheat? XD

    I was just wondering if anyone has tried this lol. That would be interesting to see. Maybe in 3rd game those areas will be open? Also I love the Unova region on how it looks!
