Realistic pokemon games?

So I just watched Detective Pikachu and the CGI amazed me. When Nintendo eventually catches up with the rest of the market, would you be open to a realistic pokemon game in that style? Or do you think pokemon should stay cartoony forever?

idk. Detective Pikachu worked for what it was, but I don't think that means Pokemon gaming should be filled with realistic Pikachu and Mr. Mime and all that. It'd be kind of unsettling to me for that drastic of a change. Pokemon has always had this nice, fantasy-esque charm and I feel like it'd lose that if it were to adopt the more realistic CGI-ness of the movie, even though some Pokemon ended up looking pretty cute in the movie. Some other Pokemon won't though, so I'd prefer if they remained as cartoony as possible.

Absolutely not, tbh. Detective Pikachu is fine by itself as the only "realistic" depiction of Pokemon. I'd rather Pokemon stay cartoony and fantasy like in the Pokemon games. I can't imagine all Pokemon translating well to CGI, if I'm being honest. I'd be fine w/it if it were in a side-game only, but not so much if it were a main series Pokemon game...that'd be too big a change.

uh not particularly no. it would be a jarring change to the series to go that route with the biggest part of the franchise. it'd be like if kirby suddenly went realistic lol
