Hi everybody. I'm new to this community so I apologise in advance if I have incorrectly posted this. Anyway, recently I made a gen 6 OU team just for fun and after some games on showdown - it proved quite successful. There were however times when i got swept.

Just to say I am one of those people who like using non-OU pokemon in OU, if you know what I'm saying. I'd like some feedback on the team please and possibly advice to make it better.

The Team (sorry I can't post images yet) :

    Lapras @ Leftovers
    Ability: Water Absorb
    EVs: 136 HP / 252 Atk / 100 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Substitute
    - Dragon Dance
    - Waterfall
    - Body Slam

    Absol @ Absolite
    Ability: Justified
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - Swords Dance
    - Sucker Punch
    - Megahorn
    - Play Rough

    Scizor @ Life Orb
    Ability: Technician
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
    Adamant Nature
    - Swords Dance
    - Bullet Punch
    - Knock Off
    - Bug Bite

    Weezing @ Black Sludge
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
    Bold Nature
    - Will-O-Wisp
    - Clear Smog
    - Flamethrower
    - Pain Split

    Chandelure @ Choice Specs
    Ability: Flash Fire
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
    Modest Nature
    - Overheat
    - Flamethrower
    - Shadow Ball
    - Energy Ball

    Staraptor @ Choice Scarf
    Ability: Reckless
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - Brave Bird
    - Close Combat
    - Double-Edge
    - U-turn

One Pokemon that seems a threat is skarmory. That's one thing I've picked up. Thanks!

Nah, this is the right place.

Skarm's probably a major threat to you because your team is very physically based, and Skarmory is one of the best physical walls out there. Your only real answer to it is Chandelure, but if that's dead, you don't have much to deal with it, especially since it resists most of the attacks of your set-up sweepers, Scizor and Mega Absol.

So, to do something about that, maybe change Lapras into a special attacker? Something like this:

    Lapras @ Assault Vest
    Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 SpD or HP
    Modest Nature
    - Hydro Pump
    - Freeze-Dry
    - Thunderbolt
    - Ice Shard

Skarmory has trouble with this set, since:

    252+ SpA Lapras Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Skarmory: 216-256 (64.6 - 76.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

    252+ SpA Lapras Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Skarmory: 198-234 (59.2 - 70%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Unless that Lapras set has been doing wonders for you.

One other little thing is that Chandelure should use a Timid nature if using Specs; it hits really hard with the Specs and EVs, so Timid helps ensure that it isn't easily outsped. Also, you might wanna replace Megahorn on Absol with something like Superpower to give it extra coverage.

Aah thank you very much. I may change lapras and test it out a bit. You see, this lapras has helped me sweep team and I was reluctant to change -but I guess it would make my team more balanced. Thanks!

As much as I hate to say this, Lapras kinda sucks in standard play. It lacks power compared to its fellow Water brethren and its defensive typing is terrible. Since you said that you use lower-tiered mons, Slowbro, Slowking and Starmie (who dropped to UU this gen) are lower-tiered Pokemon that have OU relevance and do what Lapras can do better:

    Starmie:
    -Hydro Pump
    -Psyshock/Thunderbolt
    -Ice Beam
    -Rapid Spin
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 252 SAtk/4 SDef/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb/Leftovers
    Ability: Natural Cure/Analytic

    or
    -Scald
    -Rapid Spin
    -Reflect Type
    -Recover
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 252 HP/32 Def/224 Spe
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Natural Cure

    Slowbro:
    -Scald
    -Psyshock/Ice Beam/Fire Blast
    -Thunder Wave/Toxic
    -Slack Off
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 252 HP/232 Def/24 SDef
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Regenerator

    Slowking:
    -Scald
    -Psychic/Dragon Tail
    -Fire Blast
    -Power Gem/Ice Beam
    Nature: Calm/Sassy
    EVs: 248 HP/164 SAtk/92 SDef
    Item: Assault Vest
    Ability: Regenerator

    or
    -Scald
    -Psyshock
    -Thunder Wave
    -Slack Off
    Nature: Calm
    EVs: 248 HP/44 Def/216 SDef
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Regenerator

Absol needs to be mixed so that it's not entirely walled by physical walls:
    -Sucker Punch
-Knock Off/Night Slash (latter if this is cartridge only)
    -Ice Beam/Fire Blast
-Superpower/Play Rough (latter if this is cartridge only)
    Nature: Naive
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Absolite
    Ability: Justified/Super Luck

Offensive Scizor uses the standard sweeper max Attack/max Speed spread, as Life Orb compromises Scizor's bulk for each attack and it doesn't have Roost to replenish itself.

Really, I don't think Weezing is viable. I'd say that Amoonguss is one of the more popular lower-tier Pokemon to use simply because of Regenerator. Amoonguss also forms a nice Regenerator core with Slowbro/Slowking. Amoonguss poses more of a threat than Weezing because of Spore incapacitating a non-Grass/Overcoat Pokemon:
    -Spore
    -Giga Drain
-Foul Play/Sludge Bomb (latter for cartridge)
    -Clear Smog/Sludge Bomb
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 252 HP/136 Def/120 SDef
    Item: Black Sludge
    Ability: Regenerator

Stallbreaker Chandelure is the better option because Chandelure faces stiff competition from Heatran as a Choice user because of its Stealth Rock weakness:
    -Shadow Ball
    -Fire Blast/Will-o-Wisp
    -Substitute
    -Taunt
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 160 HP/156 SAtk/192 Spe
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Infiltrator

And speaking of a Stealth Rock weakness, I know that Staraptor seems tempting as a late-game cleaner, but it's weak to it too. Rapid Spin and Defog support is absolutely mandatory in this case. Either use Starmie as your Water Pokemon, or find a way to squeeze one of these in:

    Mandibuzz:
    -Foul Play
    -Roost
    -Taunt/Whirlwind
    -Defog
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 248 HP/136 Def/108 SDef/16 Spe
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Overcoat

    Zapdos:
    -Thunderbolt
    -Roost
    -Defog
    -Heat Wave/Toxic/U-turn
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 248 HP/168 Def/68 SAtk/20 Spe
    Item: Leftovers

    Excadrill:
    -Earthquake
    -Iron Head
    -Rapid Spin
    -Rock Slide/Stealth Rock
    Nature: Adamant
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
    Item: Leftovers/Air Balloon
    Ability: Mold Breaker

    or
    -Earthquake
    -Iron Head
    -Rock Slide
    -Rapid Spin
    Nature: Adamant/Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe (Choice Scarf) or 120 HP/136 Atk/252 SDef (Assault Vest; Adamant only)
    Item: Choice Scarf/Assault Vest
    Ability: Mold Breaker

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply and help with my team. I will definitely be taking aboard some of the advice you have said and probably will change my weezing. :)

XY OU is one of the better gens for UUs, so I'll just list a few good UU pokes you should consider:

Slowbro: can spread Scald burns or paralysis, walls or cripples top-tier threats like Excadrill, Charizard-X, Keldeo (more of a check though, Hydro Pump can 2HKO), and a few others depending on the set. And Regenerator is awesome.

Amoonguss: a poor man's Mega Venusaur, but it's very stable (again Regen is great), Spore is incredibly useful, and Stun Spore and Clear Smog mess up a host of Pokemon. Very useful for Azumarill, a top-ten OU Pokemon.

Suicune: The CM/RestTalk/Scald mono-attacker is a very tough matchup for many teams that can spread around burns, check powerful Pokemon like Excadrill, Keldeo, and kinda-sorta Landorus, and provide a fantastic win condition against numerous playstyles.

Raikou: A great bird-spam check that can CM sweep or act as a bulky pivot with Assault Vest. (Specs isn't bad either.) It also does really well against genie offense, which is really troublesome.

Celebi: With Aeg gone, it can fulfill its niche as a solid answer to the likes of Keldeo and Landorus much more easily. Those tend to be Pursuit supported though, so Celebi is just okay imo.

Tornadus-T: Great pivot and attacker, though Hurricane is a miss machine without Rain support. speaking of which...

Politoed / Kabutops / Kingdra / Rain: All of these are UU (Drizzle is BL but yolo), and Rain can function well with UU pokes. You may have to get creative with the defensive core though.

Alomomola: Best WishPasser in OU probably, can spread Toxic and burn and generally be a pain to kill.

Mega Aerodactyl: Its pure Speed is problematic for offense and some bulky teams.

Of what you're currently using, Weezing and Lapras are not OU-viable, as has been mentioned. Staraptor is actually a really potent breaker, but I think Scarf wastes its potential a little bit when a CB or LO or something is going to allow it to punch major holes. Most bird-spam checks hate its STAB Normal attacks (Rotom-W, Raikou, Thundurus) or Close Combat (Tyranitar, Heatran). It's a beast.

Entei is good in OU too. Spreads burns. Funtime. And weezing is OU viable with Toxic Spikes. I saw Lady bug use on in SPL week 1, and ive seen edgar with it in ubers.
