Ranking the Movies

How would you rank the Pokemon movies from your favorite to least favorite? And if you're able to, write a quick sentence or two on why each movie is in each spot.

1. The Power of One:
This movie is amazing. There is a LOT I want to say but don't have the time or space to write. I'm being honest when I say that I love everything in it, like how Team Rocket actually does something and how good the dialogue is and how Lugia is awesome. Just to imply how much I love this movie, I'll tell you that when I watched it today, I had a huge smile from beginning to end.

2. The Rise of Darkrai:
Like "The Power of One," there's a good story and a good mix between action and dialogue. I also love how ominous the first scene is with Dialga and Palkia, as well as the ending with Oracion (which is most likely based off of the ending of "The Power of One.").

3. Lucario and the Mystery of Mew:
This is the sort of movie that I thought was okay the first time I saw it, but by the third time I was hooked. There's not a lot of action, but there doesn't need to be. I really like how the relationship between Ash and Lucario evolves over the course of the film.

4. Pokemon Heroes:
I don't remember much of this film, but I do remember that I really like it (sorry, it's been a while).

5. Giratina and the Sky Warrior:
I love how Shaymin isn't the typical cute legendary ("I'm so small and cute and innocent!") and instead is just a huge narcissist. I also like its relationship with Ash.

6. Pokemon 4ever:
Again, It's been a while since I saw the film. However, I do think the Masked Marauder is the best human villan.

7. Spell of the Unown:
It wan't amazing or terrible in my opinion. I just thought it was weird. I did like the final battle, though.

8. Destiny Deoxys:
I just thought it was an average film, overall. It was okay.

9. Jirachi: Wish Maker:
It was a bit boring, although I did like the fight with Groudon

10. Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea:
See number 9. and add a rediculous human villan. Also, I don't have anything against the PUSA cast, but this was their first Pokemon movie, and it showed.

Some of you may notice how I didn't mention "Mewtwo Strikes Back." The reason is that I have absolutely no clue where to put it. A part of me wants it to go on top, while another part of me wants it to go near the bottom. I just decided to take it out of the list, all together.

1. Lucario and the Mystery of Mew
Really enjoyed it, I've rewatched it lots of times, great soundtrack, too
2. Spell of the Unown
Quite different from the usual Pokemon movies, it wasn't all about saving the world
3. Pokemon Heroes
I just remember I enjoyed it, Latios dying was sad. That's the only death Pokemon has ever had
4. Rise of Darkrai
Beautiful soundtrack, I love Oracion and the villian isn't out to steal something
5. Wish-Maker Jirachi
I remember liking Chiisaki Mono
6. Giratina and the Sky Bouquet Shaymin
Shaymin was really cute! It had a great personality and hated Ash XD Didn't like anything else about it, though
7. Mewtwo vs Mew
I dunno if I've just rewatched it too many times, but I don't think it's that great. Love the opening, though
8. Destiny Deoxys
Boring and I realised a few weeks ago I found out the boy looks like Bakura, which disturbs me. A lot.
9. Power of One
Ive only seen it once, I found it boring
10. Pokemon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea Manaphy
Like the 6th movie, only more boring and with horrible CGI. The villain is really generic. The soundtrack is good, though
11. Pokemon 4Ever
Terrible, it's like a movie long Johto filler just with a generic villain. I'm never going to watch it again, seriously, it's torture. I hate it. Even the title is bad.

First of all, Spell of the Unown and Pokemon Heroes I don't remember much, so they will not be included.

Now, here goes!


1) Mewtwo Strikes Back
THIS one, was good. The battles, the story, and the movie in general.
2) Lucario and the Mystery of Mew
A perfect amount of action, a good plot, interesting NEW characters. A great movie.
3) Temple of the Sea
This was a good one, I liked the villain, the plot, the characters, the plot. Did I mention I liked the plot?
4) Power of One
*sniffles* This movie was pretty great, what with Ash being the "Chosen One" and Team Rocket, and stuff similar.
5) Pokemon 4Ever
Not that it impacted the story, but I think it was pretty cool how Professor Oak was in it as a young lad, and the ending battle was cool!
6) Jirachi Wish Maker
I loved the scene at the end with the Groudon, though, not a big fan of Max. But Jirachi was cool.
7) Giratina and the Sky Warrior
Shaymin was VERY cute, I didn't hate the movie, but there was better movies before. And, Zero was good too!
8) Destiny Deoxys
Well, not much to say here, except that I enjoyed the setting.
9) The Rise of Darkrai
I really just didn't like it a whole lot, the plot, the villain, or maybe it was just the Pokemon. *shrugs*

Unfortunately, Jorah, I'M in descriptive mode.

1. Giratina and the Sky Warrior
Cute Shaymin, Satoshi being pissed off, Takeshi being left out (not that I hate him, but seeing him ignored a lot makes me laugh), AND UBER ZERO!!!! Plus, it's the second movie to the triology. And I love ONE.

2. Lucario and the Mystery of Mew
I love this movie and Satoshi's exposure to his aura abilities. Though this was the start of the Auraholics war in the fandom... And as to whether Satoshi should get a Riolu. Poor Satoshi.

3. Pokemon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea Manaphy
I really like Mamoru Beki Mono, the ending of the movie. And I kinda love the movie's setting. BEAUTIFUL CASTLE UNDER THE SEA.

4. Mewtwo Strikes Back
This is the first movie to the Pokemon series, and the most touching one. Dewgong's Japanese cry ruined it. DARN YOU DEWGONG~!

5. Jirachi: Wish Maker
1) Chiisaki Mono - Haruka Humming Version + Original
2) Translation Mistake In The Dub = Pokeshipping Hint
3) Jirachi's Last Wish

6. The Power of One
:) Another good original (As in Original -> Advanced -> DPPt) movie. :) Satoshi, The Chosen One + Lugia + TR = EPIC WIN!!!!

7. Pokemon Heroes
I didn't watch too much of it, but it was good. Latios dying was sad though...

8. Spell of the Unown
Darn it, there's too many movies I like, that's why I gave this such a low mark! I didn't mean it! When I was small, I thought Entei was actually the girl's daddy transformed!

9. Rise of Darkrai
I loved the melody Alice... er... played. With the leaf.
I didn't like how the climax turned out, it was a bit dull.

10. Destiny Deoxys
It was BORING. ULTRA BORING, I TELL YOU.
No matter how Plusle and Minun brightened up the show, the movie was still dull. And besides, the kid really looked like Bakura. >.> Fan hate.


I didn't put in Pokemon 4Ever because I never watched it. It doesn't sound any good anyway, so why bother?

1. Mewtwo Strikes Back
Definitely my favourite although I do cry sometimes when Ash gets frozen.
2. The Power of One
I really like this film but it just can't beat the first one. In my opinion the first two films are the only
decent ones but I will watch some of the others.
3. The Rise of Darkrai
After seeing this movie I got my faith back in Pokemon movies. I really like Darkrai too.
4. Lucario and the Mystery of Mew
Only because it stars my all time favourite Pokemon.
5. Mewtwo Strikes Back
I like the meaning behind this one. Not sure whether it was intentional or not but I like the way it gives
across the message that everyone should be able to live in peace.
6. Spell of the Unown
I just like Entei really otherwise I wouldn't have enjoyed this movie at all.
7. Pokemon 4ever
I didn't really enjoy this one.
8. Pokemon Heroes
To be honest it was kinda boring for me.

I haven't seen anymore of the movies yet I'm trying to get hold of them from Amazon at the moment.

1. Power Of One
This is my favorite. It's with the original animation and voice actors. I also loved Lugia and the three birds. It was an awesome movie.

2. The Rise of Darkrai
This was another awesome movie. Loved Darkrai and the storyline.

3. Pokemon 4Ever
Another original with the voice actors. Also the plot was awesome, and I love Celebi and Suicune.

4. Lucario and the Mystery of Mew
Good plot, good to see Mew again also ^_^

That's my top 4. The others are good but not as good as these 4. That's my opinion though.

1. The Power of One:
Best movie ever. Ash gets a kiss, Lugia fights thre legends. There was some action and still love that joke, "I wish my mom called me Bob."

2. Spell of the Unown:
I loved this movie it was fun how Molly got to live her dream as a pokemon trainer destorying Brock and Misty with baby pokemon and Charizard v.s Entei was epic, Charizard almost died.

3. The Rise of Darkrai:
To me it's the best movie after #3 because Darkrai looks cool and the starter evos were battling in the begining.

4. Pokemon Mewtwo v.s Mew
Sure the fight was drawn out but I can't see what's better than this movie.

5. Pokemon Heroes:
It was cool because of those Team rocket members that weren't as useless as Team Rocket and the race in the beginning was decent.

6. Lucario and the Mystery of Mew:
Lucario trying to be like Naruto was a bit fun and he looked cool but there could of been more action than Lucario v.s the regis

7. Pokemon 4ever:
Here's where the pokemon fights were turning more into a nature problem more than a wrld attacking crisis so Pokemon movies were changing up and I didn't like that fact one bit.

8. Destiny Deoxys:
I just thought it was an average film, overall. It was okay.

9. Giratina and the Sky Warrior:
I thought Giratina was gonna fight but noooo. Waste of Origin form.

P.S Zero was the worst pokemon villian ever!


10. Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea:
This movie was a waste of time! No fights just ocean. Jirachi sucked too but I did like Flygon.

First movie was full of success! Fight between Mewtwo & Mew was epic!

2. Jirachi Wish Maker
I still love Jirachi and Chiisaki Mono/Make A Wish.

3. Lucario & The Mystery of Mew
Seeing the characters getting sucked in by those... Orange things was kinda... Cool O_O...

4. Spell of the Unown
This movie, along with others, left me with that feeling of... "Oh my gosh! That was so cool!" when I was younger.

5. The Rise of Darkrai
Teamwork between Pokemon is amazing!

6. The Power of One
This movie was okay... The part I mostly liked was when Team Rocket decided to help.

7. Destiny Deoxys
This movie had its boring and good times with me.

8. Pokemon Heroes
Like Destiny Deoxys...

9. Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea
All of the emotion was just.. Okay. I felt it kinda needed to be worked on. That's just my opinion.. xp

10. Giratina and the Sky Warrior
Ehh.. It was okay.

11. Pokemon 4Ever
Bottom of my list because I didn't like it.. Therefore, I completely forgot about it and put it on the bottom of my list.

10. Destiny Deoxys

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks so! The boy from movie 7 looks really creepily similar to Bakura. His hair points out to the side, the random bit going down...both wearing blue...blah, I hate the movie 7 boy so much

I think I can only rank the movies that I really remember, because they would simply be at the bottom of the list anyway. so here goes:​

1. Giratina and the Sky Warrior
This movie was exceptionally well, and Skymin is truly a cool Pokémon. There was action, recapturing previous Pokémon, comedy, and the Distortion World to be seen.​

2. Pokémon Heroes
This movie was fun to watch, and after so long I still remember what it was about. The ending was very touching and I think it made it outstance quite well.​

3. The Rise of Darkrai
A good movie, and it shows not to judge a book by its cover. The battle between Dialga and Palkia was epic, and the world coming to an end made it dramatic. Seeing Ash try running up those long fleet of steps also made me laugh.​

4. Lucario and the Mystery of Mew
I great episode, showing my favorite female character May and a cool two Pokémon Lucario and Mew as well. The traditions and battling in the movie was quite well as well as the twist with the past too.​

5. The Power Of One
Ah yes, Lugia and the three birds. I enjoyed this movie a lot when I first saw it and it brings back good memories of what Pokémon was like at the beginning.

1) The Power Of One and Mewtwo Strikes Back
First of all there is a little nostalgia. I like to think back at the old days when Pokemon had just started and the characters were still developing. These movies just give me a great feeling when I watch them. Also I like the movie's messages. The soundtracks and the stories were very nice, too.

2) Lucario And The Mistery Of Mew, The Rise Of Darkrai , Spell Of The Unown and Pokemon4Ever
Movie 8 introduced the aura-skills and therefore defined the world of pokemon a little more. It has a nice OST and the background are very well designed.
Movie 10 had an awsome story, an awsome OST and an awsome finale.
Movie 3 did focus on human relationships for a change and also tought a nice lesson about retreating into a fantasy world instead of facing the more challanging real world (which many kids may have done with Pokemon back then). Nice OST, too.
Movie 4 had awsome backgrounds and a really nice story between Ash and Professor Oak

3) Giratina And The Sky Worrior
Awsome design of the Torn World.

4) Pokemon Heroes
Not outstanding but not bad either.

5) Destiny Deoxys
Not outstanding but not bad either.

6) Jirachi Wishmaker
Not outstanding but not bad either. Chiisaki Mono is a really nice song.

7) Pokemon Ranger And The Temple Of The Sea
Boring, not well done at all.
