4th Gen Professor Rowan

As with every generation, we've been introduced to a new Pokémon Professor. We first meet him at Lake Valor after we are dragged on an adventure with our best friend Barry. After some talking, he eventually gives us chance to select our starter so that we would finally be able to start our journey off. He specializes in Pokémon evolution.

What was your opinion on Professor Rowan? Did you like him, or were you not too fond of him? If the latter, why not? Did you like his involvement in the game? If not, is there something you would change about his role to make things better?

To be honest, He is BY FAR my least favourite professor by being so boring and non inspiring. All other professor's had something new and interesting about them

Oak was the first one
Elm was really goofy and funny
Birch was the rival's Father
Juniper was the first female professor
Sycamore is the hottest professor and you actually battle him
Kukui stands out for his bizarre research methods and his bare chest.

Rowan has nothing of that.

I thought he was a pretty boring professor as well. He didn't really do much of anything in the story. I do wish they expanded a bit more on his character and how he got into studying evolution. Maybe even if he had any new findings. If he were in 6th Gen, he'd definitely be the expert on Mega Evolution I feel.

Aw, I like Rowan! He's totally the gruff strict professor type, very serious about his research. He's very down to earth imo. I would have liked him to be more involved with the concept of evolution- especially like the Sinnoh evos of prior gen Pokémon? Since Mt Coronet was a big factor of many, it would have made sense to talk to him about it (rather than cyrus iirc).

I guess I found him boring because I'm so used to seeing Aides all around the region helping you with your journey and I really missed that. On the flip side, I think that made the games pretty challenging.

Rowan is sassy, my gosh. I did not appreciate him enough until more recently.

"You two. You truly love Pokémon, do you?"
No: "Er-hem! I didn't quite catch that, so I will ask you again. You two. You truly love Pokémon, do you?"

(asking the player to take the Pokédex)

"<player>, I ask that you go everywhere and meet every kind of Pokémon in this region!"
No: "... ... ... ... I can stand here without speaking for hours. I'm a very patient man. Let me ask you again, <player>."

(talking to Team Galactic)

"Quiet, you lot! Why must you be such a nuisance? Let me list some lessons you still need to learn. #1: Don't loiter about for no good reason. #2: Don't interrupt others while they are attempting to converse. #3: If you don't get your way, don't raise your voice to be intimidating. #4: Don't think you've grown strong just because you're in a group. #5: What is with those outlandish outfits you have on? My goodness... You call yourselves adults? You kids, don't grow up to be like these sorry specimens."

Rowan is savage.
