    OVERVIEW

My goal with this hack was to make a version of Pokemon Crystal that still has replay value to it. With enough quality-of-life and rebalances, the 251 Kanto/Johto Pokemon each feel better and actually contribute to a team.

    FEATURES

    • Running Shoes (Just hold B!)
    • Dual-Typed Johto Gyms
    • Updated Rival Story
    • Updated Rocket Story
    • All 251 Pokemon catchable
    • Physical/Special Split
    • Fairy-Type
    • Later Gen Moves
    • Updated Type Chart
    • Updated Learnsets and Type Changes
    • Gym Leader Rematches
    • Proper Level Balancing
    • New Shiny Palettes
    • Shinies in Pokedex Screen (Press Select when looking at a Pokemon)
    • Slight Evolution Tweaks (No Trade Evos, either items/happiness/level up, with some evolution levels being decreased)
    • And More!

    KNOWN ISSUES

    (Non-Game Breaking)
    • New catches update the pokedex with the shiny sprite
    • Day care mons use placeholder palettes instead of their menu ones
    • The Cianwood Gym Guide is technically in two places at once
    • Using Metal Coat and other trade evo items do not evolve their Pokemon like evolutions stones do (FIXED)
    • A few post-game events seem to not be accessible due to the necessary sprites not appearing properly (FIXED)

    TO-DO

    • Update Egg Moves (All Kanto 'Mons done)
    • Add Decorations (missing a few beds, some consoles, and some dolls)
    • Update Battle Tower Teams (Still functional, but all data is done manually, so with updated BST's, calculations are required)

Hey there, 5 badges down and really enjoying so far. Nice balance between improvements without being too heavy handed with changes so bravo! I've just decided to have a go at catching one of the roaming dogs but don't seem to be getting anywhere with the repel trick. Assuming this should still work and it's just taking ages?

I haven't touched anything regarding repels aside from the number of steps (making the step/cost the same). There shouldn't be anything that stops the repel trick from working. I did make sure the beasts don't have Roar at level 40, so don't worry about that. Best of luck, I suppose.

How do I evolve trade evolutions? I didn't see this mentioned in your post anywhere.
I noticed trade evo items sold at Mahogany after the radio tower takeover, but they don't have the 'use' option and trading with myself also doesn't seem to work.
(I've only tried with Porygon and it's evo item Up-Grade, just in case it's a Porygon issue and not the others)

I like the changes I could see so far for the most part. I think it's good you went and added some extra maps and events to somewhat stand out from a typical QOL/difficulty hack, and they aren't too bad!
On your main post, I think you should be a little more specific on some things, especially since you don't have a full docs ready:
    - Running Shoes are on from the start, or even better just say hold B to run (seems intuitive, but saying Running Shoes makes it sound like a key item);
    - Updated shiny odds (if they are, though I think they should be if you changed some shiny palettes);
    - Evolution changes or how trade evos work (since all 251 are available).
You might think of some other important info to put there, like mentioning there are new moves and moves from later gens, but I just gave you what I can think of off the top of my head.
Also, I think the dex showing shiny palettes is a good way for us to maybe spot which are different without having to guess or be directly told! Funny how that works out imo

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I don't know how something like that went unnoticed. I edited the post, so give it time to go through. Every little detail I changed I didn't feel the need to write. When you see a screenshot of a Magcargo with Earth Power, one can guess later gen moves were added, but since you asked I put it in text anyway. I didn't change the shiny odds, as that would involve a lot of work with the engine, so I didn't touch it. The Odd Egg is a guaranteed shiny, as is the Gyarados, and that's about it. The Gen 1 Trade evos evolve by level up, the Gen 2 trade evos use their items like evolution stones. I got the issue fixed, but there's some other things I want to do before I release that patch.

I just saw this, is there a battle frontier planned given the overal goal of this game?
There's the Battle Tower, like there is in the vanilla game. It's not as updated as I would like it to be at the moment, on account of every single Pokemon needs to have its stats calculated, but it's there.

I tried downloading your hack and a severe virus threat was detected. You might wanna check your files.
I double checked the download and everything was fine on my end. I even unzipped the folder on my iPhone. The only thing I can say is double check your download process, making sure you are downloading the zip folder off of mediafire. The zip contains a README, the patches, as well as a copy of the patching software. Your system may have picked up on NUPS and flagged it, but nothing in there is intentionally malicious.

Is there a list of the changes in this game? I didnt see one in the zip file.
Documentation is a work in progress at the moment. I know the ASM files are enough to suffice temporarily, but some information is all over the place, and I need time to organize it. Clicking my name in the credits links to my youtube channel, where I have some videos going over the changes I've made in broad strokes. Once the documentation is ready, it will have its own link.

Do you have a list of type changes added? Just helps a little with team planning. And do you know if the stone evos still learn moves after evolving?

Level up moves are included in the documentation. Short answer is yes. The types are included in the base stat files, which I didn't include in the documentation because I thought it'd be overwhelming. Since you asked, I can go ahead and it add it, along with the updated type chart.
