Simple questions here- what did you find yourself doing in Sinnoh postgame? Did you go for PokéDex completion? Did you stick around the Battle Frontier/Battle Park/postgame access only areas? Did you end up breeding? Why/for what? Did you just train and train your Pokémon as much as possible?

What kept you in Sinnoh after your quest was finished?

I remember doing the Battle Frontier, although I lost interest after awhile. I mean, the place itself was rather fun but felt repetitive. After that, I took it on as a mission to fill the Pokedex. I got up to 350 but then realised I couldn't obtain the rest. It was fun though, running around, breeding, catching and training. Then there was shiny hunting. Damnit, I'm never doing that again. Worst experience ever. :p

Afterwards, I went on a legendary catching spree. I got most of the roaming and still ones. Can't say the same about events! The next thing I tried was to get my whole team to 100. That sort of worked. I kept rematching the Elite Four and then after awhile, that got stale. So I continued on my merry way for new things to do. I eventually just bunked out and made a villa, while regularly rematching gym leaders. I can't remember anything else I did after that. I just abandoned the game and started fresh, I guess. I'm not the person who does every little thing in the post games. XD

Not much held me back in. I just wanted an awesome team so I went to BF to get points for TMs of Earthquake.

And I planted berries like crazy. I almost won the contests too. I would say there were fairly many things to do after E4.

Well I have over 400 hours logged on my Pearl version, though most of them were spent breeding stuff and doing some Battle Tower. I have over 250 on my main Platinum version, as well, where I have a completed National Pokédex and all five Silver Frontier symbols. And I got three stars on my Trainer Card (beat the game, complete the National Pokédex, steal 50 flags in the Underground). Maybe someday i'll go back and try for the last two, but Super Contests are annoying.

After the post-game, I ended up catching Pokémon for my Pokédex. I must say it was hard, lmao. I did occasionally visit the Battle Frontier, but it kinda get repetitive, and before you know it I got bored. As for Platinum, I mostly chilled out at the Fight Area, in the Battle Zone. There is quite some stuff to do in D/P/Pt post-game, but I guess I didn't do much. ^_^

PokéRadar was an addiction though. Super fun, and you could easily gain shinies out of it. And the better thing about it was, that you could catch Beldums. You should of have seen my reaction when I found a Shiny Beldum. lmao xP

There was something about DPPt that made me want to stick around for a good while longer. My first order of business was to go out there and try my best to complete the Dex. Although, after being a good 100 off, I decided to give up because it got rather tedious and so I decided to go for the Battle Frontier. Because I played it every now and then, I found it quite fun at first, but as I played more and more, it got repetitive and boring so I stopped that, too. Overall, those 2 probably went on for a month each, which is the most post-game time I have spent on a game before. But even then it wasn't over. I spent a while using PokeRadar to chain and try and pick up a few shiny Pokemon, the first of which was Mareep. I also tried doing some RNG breeding on Diamond and that also got boring and tedious so I stopped. Then I thought I might as well battle the E4 a few more times before I started fresh, set out a few rules for myself such as not being able to use any items which worked once.

After defeating the champion and Elite Four (which, by the way, took an extremely long time) and registering myself into the Hall of Fame, I immediately went to explore the Survival Area. When I arrived there, the first thing I did was, if I remember correctly, battle Barry. I managed to defeat him somehow, but his Pokémon were a lot stronger than ever before. His Staraptor's attacks were quite powerful; it was able to take out three - four of my Pokémon in an instant. I had a Metagross, though, which was able to take a few hits from it and strike back. I had a Snorlax, too. If I didn't have Metagross on my team, then I could've used that instead, and it would have been able to counter Staraptor without any worries. When I was done with Barry, I payed a little visit to Stark Mountain. There, I've met Buck. I had to help him search for the Magma Stone. After that, he introduced me to the Battleground--a place where many of the toughest Sinnoh region trainers hanged out, which was ran by his grandfather. I decided to go head-to-head with some of the trainers, and by winning, I was able to level-up my Pokémon quite a bit. (:

Eventually, I learned that if you revisit Stark Mountain, you'd be able to capture Heatran... and so I did! I was able to catch Heatran, but it took me more than a hundred Dusk Balls. I had it down to its lowest possible health, and paralyzed it as well--no luck. It would still break out of the Poké Ball pretty easily. Thank god that I had it captured at some point, though. If it ran out of moves and used Struggle, then I would've been required to go through the whole process all over again. Other than those things, I've done a lot of other stuff. But right now, I just can't seem to recall them, precisely. I think I tried completing the PokéDex, but I just couldn't get it done at the end. It was too time-consuming, and my motivation for it simply wasn't there anymore. D:

As soon as I defeated Cynthia (which took ages, she whooped my ass so many times haha), I rushed over to the Survival Area. I quite liked the concept of the battle area, but I always found the name of it as well as its adjacent areas rather tacky. I wished they had more of a creative flare.

As I arrived at the Survival area I battled Barry who proved tricky to defeat. I tried out the Battle Tower, but I wasn't really fond of the facility. After awhile it got boring and so I decided to do a little exploring. I traveled all over the newly unlocked island and caught quite a fair share of Pokemon. I found the dessert region the most fun to traverse through, and remember quite fondly catching a Dugtrio and a Cacturne that 'till this day I still have trained and on my main team.

As my escapades continued I finally reach Stark Mountain and met Buck. I've got to say, the journey up Stark Mountain was really pretty; I especially loved the music. I also caught another bunch of exotic Pokemon, Camelrupt being just one example. After exploring Stark Mountain I decided to go on a mission to catch all of the legendary Pokemon. I still haven't completed that goal, but oh well. I suppose that leaves me with something to go back to if I ever go back to playing the games.

I've got to say, Diamond and Pearl and perhaps even Platinum, didn't have the best post-games, but they definitely have +1 on the post-games of BW and XY. I've got to admit HGSS and B2W2 trumped DPPt's post-game. All in all though, DPPt's post-game was fun and enjoyable.

After I managed to beat the Elite Four, the only thing I was interested in was to visit the Battle Frontier and the Survival/Resort Areas.

I actually did spend a good chunk of my time competing in both the Battle Factory and the Battle Hall, probably spending a good 10 hours in each of them since I loved the concepts that each of them brought. I also faced Barry a number of times in the Survival Area, but I found that got old pretty quickly.

I also spent more time than I'd like to admit attempting to chain shiny Pokemon once I got to the postgame. There were at least a dozen instances where I would get a chain of around 25 on either Route 209 or the Trophy Garden (the two main places I tried chaining), but it would always break there. I eventually just gave up with it, though I'm sure perserverence would've eventually paid off.

Beyond that though, there wasn't much else that kept me interested in Platinum during the postgame, much like it hadn't through the main story itself. I know that there's still stuff that I haven't done like going to catch Heatran and some of the roaming legendary Pokemon, but D/P/Pt just didn't capture my interest as much as I'd have liked, so I don't see myself even bothering to go back and do those things.
