Hello again, I have a porygon-Z and want it to have a pretty good moveset for fighting and for just making it fun to use... (which kind of sounds stupid I know) So if anyone has experience with Porygon 2 and wants to tell me some fun stuff for Z then post it here.

    Porygon-Z
    Item: Peteya Berry
    Nature: Modest
    Ability: Adaptibility
    Moves:
    Tri-Attack
    Thunderbolt
    Ice-Beam
    Nasty Plot

    Porygon-Z Special Sweeper.

Modest gives it a good Sp.Attack boost, Nasty Plot skyrockets it above the Space-needle, and if you use Tri-Attack, which gains Stab and extra power from it's ability, it would kill everything that isn't Not very Effective. I'd reccomend this moveset. It's my very own. =)

Wow that acctually sounds like a fun to use moveset, relativly easy to use and yet quite powerful. I likey! If anyone else has suggestions though I am still wide open to them.

Nasty Plot raises that Sp. Atk enough. Use Timid Nature.

Ok that sounds good I like fast hard hitters myself.

Porygon-Z is ownage. Porygon 2 was pretty good imo, but man, porygon-Z's special attack is just crazy. add in nasty plot and you have one heck one heck of a sweeper. One of the best special sweepers in this new gen.

I believe there's also a choice spec set out there with hyper beam over nasty plot, but honestly, i'm drooling over that nasty plot set.

Agreeing with Iceman3k about Timid nature. Also, Hyper Beam is an option over Tri Attack. I've heard Porygon-Z can OHKO Blissey with Hyper Beam and full Sp.Attack boost. Also, Petaya Berry is pointless with Nasty Plot give it Lum Berry or Life Orb if you want to go overkill.

With Adaptability, max SPCL ATK EVs, Nasty Plot, and Life Orb running around, Tri-Attack could probably KO more proficiently than Hyper Beam.

I don't know, I just don't think Hyper Beam is worth the risk, unless you plan on using it as a self-sacrifice.

Hyper beam leaves Porygon-Z open to attacks the next turn. Of course it's stupid to have it on a moveset. Tri-Attack is way better.

I agree that Nasty Plot & Timid nature are must-haves. BoltBeam is only one moveset though. The way I see it, the 2 most important factors on a sweper moveset are STAB, and covering weaknesses, (That's why I like Dragons & Ghosts. They can do both with the same move), so it may be an idea to include Psychic to deal with Fighting-types. Recover may also be an option to use after a Petaya or Salac boost.

i hope you see what's wrong with that thinking. almost every pokemon with some limb of physical matter learns Brick Break. no one would bring in a fighting type against it unless it had good special defense and wanted to force a switch, or could probably even outrun it without recieving any damage.

you need to battle some before you make some conclusions about competitive battle.

I meant that Hyper Beam can be used as some form of self-destruct, in the sense that when it's low on HP, and you have no reserves for recovery, then use Hyper Beam, waiting for your opponent to revenge kill it.

I like using Porygon-Z with Choice Specs

    Porygon-Z @Choice Specs
    Ability: Adaptability
    Nature: Modest
    EV's: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
    Tri Attack
    Ice Beam
    Thunderbolt
    Signal Beam

Tri Attack + STAB + Adaptability + specs does a huge amount of damage.

    I personally prefer this set:

    PORYGON-Z @ Life Orb/Choice Specs
    252 sp.atk, 128 speed, 128hp
    Modest

    - Tri-Attack
    - Thunderbolt/Ice Beam
    - Dark Pulse/Recover
    - Agility

I'm still unsure whether to go with Dark Pulse or Recover, since his defences aren't too great.. Dark Pulse will OHKO Dusknoir though, which is nice.

I love having Agility on him though, Agility + Recover = lil mini-staller, something I enjoy doing, so yeah..

It's a toss-up between Ice Beam and Thunderbolt, but Ice Beam is probably the better option, since though you're always NVE to steel types, you'll 2HKO them with Tri-Attack anyway... so it's no big deal.

If you decide not to use Recover, use 252spd, 252sp.atk and 1hp EVs.
