    Hello, all.

I'm looking to raise myself a Porygon-Z. I need another Sp. Attacker in my team, and I have have a Frosslass. I was going to use a Jynx, but I really don't want two Ice types. So I looked at Trophy Garden today and it was Porygon! I was excited. I caught one and immediately started breeding. Now I'm wonder, what's the best moveset for it? This is where you come in and help me. :P

    I'm thinking this:

    Porygon-Z @ ???
    Download/Adaptabilty?
    Timid
EVs: 252 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
    -Tri Attack
    -Ice Beam
    -Thunderbolt
    -Recover

Porygon-Z's base Defense and Sp. Defense should be enough for it to Recover and gain back to full health, at least I think. I'm not sure which Ability to use either, or held item. But I'm positive of making it Timid, as I have a Timid ditto with near perfect Sp. Attack and Speed EVs. Please help.

    Hello, all.

    Porygon-Z @Choice Specs
    Adaptabilty
    Timid
EVs: 252 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
    -Tri Attack
    -Ice Beam
    -Thunderbolt
    -Dark Pulse

    Adaptability always.

Porygon-Z doesn't need to Recover. It's too frail to do so and you're just wasting time in the end.
Dark Pulse is a good choice for the last slot. Covers Ghosts types. This is if you want a Choice Specs sweeper.

Choice Scarf Porygon-Z should have Modest Nature.

You can also replace the last slot with Nasty Plot. If you do, give it a Life Orb.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add, I'm not a big fan of doing Battle Tower to get an item that would annoy me. So no Choice Scarf kthxplx:O

EDIT: I was thinking Choice Specs, aragornbird, but I forget where to get them. I think it's somewhere in Celestic town between 4:00-9:59 AM?

    Missed my post.

Just get them through Wi-Fi trades. If you don't ever use Battle Tower items, you are missing out on a ton of great items and you may even lose a lot of battles because of that.

You're right aragornbird a choice scarf porygon-z is modest nature, my bad. Even mine is modest.

    Porygon-Z
    Download
    Timid
    Ev's: Sp. Atk 252, speed 128, HP 124
    Lock On/ Ice beam/Nasty Plot
    Zap Canon/ Thunder Bolt
    Tri Attack
    Signal Beam/ Shadow Ball/Psychic/Dark Pulse

I personally use the moveset in bold. Zap Canon is useless without Lock On and if you do use that combination, Recover and Nasty Plot's are definate no's.
Hp is important so it can pull off a lock-on/recover/Nasty Plot.

    Movesets

    Nasty Plotter
    Item: Life Orb
    Preferred Nature: Modest / Timid
    Ability: Adaptability
    EV Spread: 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    - Nasty Plot
    - Thunderbolt
    - Ice Beam
    - Tri Attack

Basically, you simply nasty plot. Then boltbeam/tri attack away. Tri Attack is deadly because... Life Orb + STAB + Adaptability = MASSIVE Tri Attack Damage. Thunderbolt for a filler, well, boltbeaming works all the time doesn't it? Ice beam espeicially for dragons. Timid nature can let you outspeed stuff, Modest allows you to kill more things. EV spread is like that because it can't take a hit.

    Agiligon
    Item: Life Orb
    Preferred Nature: Modest
    Ability: Adaptability
    EV Spread: 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    - Agility
    - Thunderbolt
    - Ice Beam
    - Tri Attack

This time, your going all Modest. All power, agility is for speed. And don't worry, Tri Attack still does it's damage.

    Specs
    Item: Choice Specs
    Preferred Nature: Timid
    Ability: Adaptability
    EV Spread: 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    - Ice Beam
    - Thunderbolt
    - Hyper Beam
    - Tri Attack

Needs timid to outspeed certain stuff. Boltbeam for the usual. I already explain Tri Attack... and now... Hyper Beam. Hyper Beam does, without any support, a whoping damage. It does more than explosion O_o. Lotta damage, and I haven't counted Choice Specs yet. Choice specs gives this set a high boost. But, your locked into only 1 attack, remember that.

    Scarf
    Item: Choice Scarf
    Preferred Nature: Modest
    Ability: Adaptability
    EV Spread: 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    - Ice Beam
    - Thunder Bolt
    - Hyper Beam
    - Tri Attack

Same as last set, just speed instead of power.

    Overall
Porygon-Z is an amazing special sweeper, I mean with tri-attack and all. It can do tons of damage!

    Counters
Fighting types, that can outspeed it. Lucario might work against this. Close Combat from infernape OHKO's

quoted directly from Mewtwo Academy from MKDSPoke give him complete credit.

Meh, that moveset just won't work. Any trainer smarter than a rock will know that Zap Cannon comes immediately after a Lock-on. Therefore, they will switch to a Ground, Grass, or Electric type, foiling your strategy.

    Signal Beam? Useless.

Also, anyone using 252/128/128 EVs (or anything close to that) shows a lack of understanding of good EV spreads.

Come again? like aragornbird said, that's pretty much not recommanded. and is a stupid set. Tri-attack is the only standard move there.

I use some Battle Tower items, I just can't get that far in Battle Tower right now because I don't have my full team, but aren't I correct when there's a way to get Choice Specs other than Battle Tower? I believe Serebii said that I can get them somewhere in Celestic town between 4:00 and 9:59 AM. Can someone tell me where?

As for the moveset I'm going with:

    Porygon-Z @ Choice Specs
    Adaptability
    Timid
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 Sp. Attack, 6 HP
    -Tri Attack
    -Ice Beam
    -Thunderbolt
    -Dark Pulse

I understand where your coming from on the Zap Canon issue. Even though if your well prepared enough you'd be able to counter that.

I do not though see how you can come across calling signal beam useless, and saying that 252/128/128 show lack of knowledge?
Bug attacks are so underrated in this day and age. If everyones so against it, then Dark Pulse's is the best replacement, and running ice beam is a must.

Woah starting to get my brains back, being distracted by birthday tomorrow. Anyways i think I'm too late.

Edit: I see where your coming from on signal beam too. Something I overlooked in a rush. Still don't see the problem with that EV's spread.

Bolded and Underlined to catch some attention this time. I said in a previous post, I've got the moveset and everything worked out, now in order to get that moveset I need that. ^

Porygon-Z should have as much speed as it can (Without Choice Scarf sometimes) or else some things will just destroy it.
P.S Two Thunder Bolts will do almost twice as much as one Lock-on/Zap Cannon Combo. The paralyzing isn't really worth it...

    *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Choice items will always be next to useless in my mind.
lol, I'd like to beat you with a Choice item only team.

Still don't see the problem with that EV's spread.
It's just something that newbs do a lot. They max out one stat, don't know what to do with the other, and just split it between two stats and think that everything will be fine.

Those kinds of spreads are wasteful and show no clue of more advanced techniques of EV spreads.

No clue on your question, Lemonade. Just get it through a trade. Lots of people have them.

Eh... guess who's stayin' up 'til 4:00 tonight. xP

I really feel like trading my Choice Band for one, since I don't use it. Or perhaps a Power Bracer? If anyone wants I have to go now, but I should be on in about an hour and a half or so. It's 9:55 PM now, I'll be back about 11:30 PM.

ya I know and I guess your right (this being about Zap Canon) I only like it because parlalyzing lowers your opponents speed. I'm not even going to continue the EV topic. I know my way around Ev's pretty well.

With a PorygonZ, if you're not fainting them in two attacks you shouldn't be leaving him in. Also a moveset with 4 slots is better than a moveset with 3. And that's ignoring the key problem - the switch-out.

I'm not even going to continue the EV topic. I know my way around Ev's pretty well.
Really? So you appreciate that if you're not maxing a stat, you're aiming for a specific stat level to outspeed/survive/kill something that would otherwise give you problems, and it's just coincidence it happened to end up on 128/128 this time?
