    Hi,
I am new to the world of Pokemon trading card. Came across a Pokemon Zekrom HP780 114/114 card but can not find information. Only found info on Zekrom HP130. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cards with outrageous HP like this are counterfeit. The highest HP on a non-jumbo card has never exceeded 400, misprint or otherwise.

Hi, thanks for your reply... I am 100% sure is not fake or counterfeit as it is my son personal cards and I bought them all for him. So, it must be a misprint.

Misprints aren't just one-off mistakes. Large quantities of cards with the error would exist, and it would be well-documented. Here is a list of known error cards: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Error_cards

Here are a few other signs to look for to confirm its illegitimacy:
    • The card has a yellow border
    • The card isn't holographic/foil
    • The card doesn't have an embossed texture
    • The "é" in Pokémon lacks the accent mark (Pokemon) or appears to be a different font
    • Any lowercase g has a hooked tail, or any lowercase y has a curved tail
    • There are multiple typos
    • Type or Energy icons are highlighted from the right side

If you still have doubts, please share a photo or scan of the card if possible (if you don't have enough posts, use the attachment button next to smilies under the advanced options).

Hi there. I merged all your posts since there's no need to spam.

Sorry, but your card there is 100% fake. I was able to find one EBay listing that has the same card being sold for an outrageous price.

Where did you buy this card?

Is it really fake? That is so strange because I purchased the Pokemon cards for my son when he was around 8 years old. And, I know for fact he did not trade . I don't know how and where he would have gotten the card as either my wife or I purchased for him.. Strange.. Yes, and I did see the ebay listing as well. He did not sell it, but he ended the listing early claiming that the card was lost or no longer available for sale.. So, I guess there is at least two cards going around.. jajajaja.. well, I was hoping it was a misprint or unique card, but I guess it is not.. Thanks for the info.

Outrageous HP totals for the era the card that it is a counterfeit of is the #1 thing done on counterfeits. I'm willing to bet that card has an almost plastic-like quality to it as well.

The thing about these counterfeits is they're often made in large quantities for cheap in countries where labor is super cheap, because they only need to convince people who do not know what authentic product looks like to buy the cards.

A thing I noticed looking at the card is that it looks like the face of the card is starting to actually peel off at the bottom. Legitimate Pokemon cards don't peel like that.
