    Hey All,

Just got my hands on a copy of the Pokemon Official Magazine here in the uk and thought I would share a few of my thoughts on it here for everyone that doesnt live in the uk. First off the contents/free gifts. The magazine comes in a nice foil bag containing the magazine itself and 6 frige/metal surface magnets (FR/LG Logo, Meowth, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander and Pikachu). In the magazine is a card cutout and make Charmander (not tried this myself... yet) and a double sided A2 poster (loadsa Pokemon on one side and FR/LG logo/poster on other).

Inside the magazine itself is a short introduction to the world of Pokemon, a history of all the games over various platforms, a very short FR/LG review, quizzes on several different pokemon games and that is just for starters.

I will post more when i've got the time to sit down and read some more. Unfortunatly I don't have a scanner so I can't scan anything but if there is anything specific you want to know from the magazine then let me know.

Also anyone else with this mag then feel free to add your thoughts/reviews.

I got my copy yesterday at the Borders Bookstore in bullring, Birmingham. But I would of thought WH Smith would stock it.

After a bit of better flick through I can tell you some more of whats inside. As well as the normal little sidebar quizzes there are 4 double page spreads for each of the kanto starters and Pikachu, a small guide to the start of season 7 episodes of the anime, and a complete screenshot recap of the very first anime episode (Pokemon, I Choose You!). There is a nice little intro to the TCG for those of you who have never played (which i haven't) a few bits about TCG tournaments.

There is an article on the new wireless adapter that comes with FR/LG and other pokemon/gameboy gadgets from over the years. There are then a few bits about the various bits of merchandise and the mag rounds out with a letters section and a few compitions.

Overall not a bad little magazine for ?3.99, allthough it might be of more intrest to someone who is new to the pokemon world as it gives a lot of good background on the phenomenon.

The next issue will have more information on FR/LG (Elite Four, Secret Islands & Legendaries), more series 7 anime info, the free gift is 5 badges (from the pic they appear to be (Pokeball, Pikachu and the three kanto starters). Its out December 2nd.

I didn't really like it that much. Like you said before, it does seem more appealing to people who have just gotten into the world of Pokemon, and don't know much about it. For veterans such as myself, I saw it as patronising and such. All the questions being asked could have been answered off the top of my head, and the only new thing that was in there (to me at least) were the new anime episode titles. They didn't include Emerald that much, and there seemed to be no real new information about games/anime at all.

To be fair though, they are aiming it for complete n00bs, so they might not know what on earth an EV is, or what on earth Deoxys is... so... well.... let's just I say I won't be buying it come December.

I see what your saying cat dog, but its a step in the right direction I suppose. And the UKcentric information was good, unless someone knows of a reliable place for Pokemon merchendise in the uk?
