Pokemon Master Trainer Board Game

Can you describe how this game looks like, or post a link so I can read about it? I never heard of this game before?

I got this game a long, long time ago. I'm a bit rusty on the rules though. I don't have time to look for it and post rules right now though, so I'll be back later. You can always make up your own rules too, if you want.

There's a lot of rules. The rules might depend on what version of the game you're playing. I have the original version and the Hoenn version, and the rules vary between those two. The Hoenn version (box is orange and on the cover is all the legendary Pokemon with Pikachu) is more involved and has more pieces. The original version is simple to play. I also know that there's another version to cover D/P, but I don't have that one.

So really, it depends on what version you have.

For the original version, you just go around and try to capture the Pokemon that you land on. I think you have to roll a higher dice count to capture the Pokemon, or something along those lines.

The Hoenn one involves the cards, the spinner, and some basic math skills. If the space that you land on says Event, you draw an Event card, which are the orange cards. If you land on an Item space, you draw an Item card, which are blue. If you land on a Battle or Get Pokemon space, then you get to battle.

Get Pokemon: capture a Pokemon. Use a Pokemon that you have already (draw 3 Pokemon Character cards at the beginning of the game, as all players do) to capture the Pokemon on the top of the remaining Pokemon Character cards. Use the spinner to determine if you capture the Pokemon. Your opponent spins for the "wild" Pokemon; you spin for yourself. If your opponent has a higher Battle Point amount than you, you don't catch the Pokemon. If you have a higher Battle Point amount (gained by the number received from the spinner added to the Battle Points on the Pokemon card, and any Item card you use in the battle), then you capture the Pokemon.

It's the same process if you land on a Battle space or on a Gym Battle space. Except you battle the other player or a Gym Leader card, respectively.

Ruins spaces allow you to capture a Rare Pokemon card. You have to spin either a "6" or a "10" in order to capture the Pokemon.

The other spaces are self-explanatory.

The goal of the game is to reach the "Goal" space and have the highest amount of PCs. That's determined by the order that you reach the Goal space (200, 100, 50, 20), the amount of Pokemon Character cards you have (Gold=80, Red=60, Orange=40, Yellow=20), and you subtract 120 if you used a Smile Loan card.

And the numbered colored chips are the PC counters.

...I think that covers it. It's a quick overview of the game rules, so just ask if you need something clarified more. If you have the D/P version, then I can't help you out, but this is for the Hoenn version. Just ask if it's the old version that only has the first 150 Pokemon. xP
