Ive thought of a great idea about a pokemon game. What if there was a game that was for ps3, etc. that takes the main character(ash) throughout all the regions and you can actually obtain all the pokemon that r located in every region. And everything is realistic, and u could swim, climb, jump, etc. And u could start in kanto(that way, u can get a pikachu, and brock and misty can follow u when u beat them), the johtto, hoenn, etc. I think something like that would be awesome, wat about you?

Not a great idea...common idea. Lots of people have posted about this in the past. But before you even get to the gameplay aspect, you have to realize that Microsoft does not own Pokemon. It's Nintendo. If there were a Pokemon game for the 360, there would be lawsuits up the ass. And the same goes for if Sony put it on PS3. It will never happen. As for it being on Wii, I doubt that would happen either because the creators are against putting what sounds like a main game on a home console. There's already another thread about having all five regions on one DS or 3DS cart and I'm not gonna bother reiterating what I said there.

I think it's the same bad idea that seems to crop up every other day on this forum for whatever reason.......

First of all, there's no way a Pokemon game will ever make its way onto a Sony (PS3) or Microsoft (XBOX 360) platform because the Pokemon franchise is owned by Nintendo.

Secondly, Ash is the Anime counterpart of the protagonist from RGBY/FRLG, Red. There's no way we'd ever see him in a Pokemon game directly as Ash. Part of the reason they give you an option to name your character in the games is so that the player can associate with the protagonist. The closest you'd ever be able to get to that is if Game Freak/whoever produces the game decided to introduce a feature in which you can design your character's appearance, which is highly unlikely.

Finally, as I've mentioned before, a game with all regions carries the risk of being extremely unprofitable, because the time, effort and resources required to create such a game would be astronomical.

Yeah, I'm fairly sure this will never happen. We've had threads like this before and many on PC (myself included) would probably not buy a game that essentially features regions that have already been explored in the past and brings nothing new to the table.

Dang. I had no knowledge of the company/lawsuit aspect of it. And i just made an account here, so i also had no knowledge over previous thread posts. I just thought that nintendo could try to make some deals with sony, etc. To make a game, but idk much about the law aspect of it

Nintendo and Sony are both each others main competitor, so I doubt any deals would be made at all, let alone over one of Nintendo's leading franchises. I'm fairly certain that even if Sony offered Nintendo a million, gajillion dollars that Nintendo would still turn them down. Sony probably wouldn't even make an offer to begin with.

Oh, ok. Yea, i didnt know that either. Its too bad though, the outcome of a ps3 game of pokemon would have a great profit

The only way that we would be able to see a Pokemon game on any other system than a Nintendo one would be if they went out of the console business (similar to Sonic games being on multiple consoles now, whereas a decade or so ago that would be unheard of). With Nintendo still making as much money as they are, don't expect that any time soon.

I have faith that a full game with with multiple regions will be made for a full console one day, but I still think it'd be at least 5-10 years and another generation of consoles before it might happen.

I just have one thing to say to this
: NEVER. Nintendo won't reap enough profits.

Yeah, I don't think it would be that successful on the PS3 either, since the Xbox is by far the biggest-selling console, so if there WERE to be some sort of deal, it would be between Microsoft and Nintendo.

    But, this will never happen.

    Xbox sales are kinda horrible.

Its Ranked Third (which is last) in Japanese and European sales and Second in North American sales. World Wide it beat Playstation by less than 4 Million dollars. Nintendo creams both Sony and Microsoft with sales.

Again, the Pokemon games (Main games) are restricted to hand helds because that is the only thing Matsuda will make them on due to their vision for Pokemon. They will do everything in their power not to make a home console Main game. So if anything since Microsoft doesn't have a handheld and I don't think they will ever make one because of what they want to do with their consoles, IF Pokemon HAD to switch companies, the only choice they'd have is Sony since Sony has a portable handheld.

Though with Nintendo selling more than the other two that's highly unlikely.
