    Howdy there,

Yesterday I finished Pokemon Gale Of Darkness for the fifth time. I love the game to death , just like I did with Pokemon Colloseum (I prefered Gale Of Darkness though). But it didn't feel right. Somewhere in my mind I wanted more pokemon like Drapion , Golurk and Hyreigon (Electevire , Magmortar etc). I don't know if more of you guys have this same problem. However , the Hoenn remakes gave me hope/Ideas.

Why not a Pokemon Gale Of Darkness or Colloseum remake? Well not an exact remake but in the same style. Maybe same place but a few years later? Or do you guys feel like Nintendo can't make it as good as Gale Of Darkness and Colloseum were , and it would be a bad idea to remake these gems? And while you're at it , 3DS or on the Wii U? Ofcourse most of us only own a 3DS or prefer the Playstation and Xbox over the Wii U (and Nintendo isn't going to release such a big franchise as Pokemon on the consoles of the 'enemies') but there's a charm to seeing your Pokemon in 3D on your tv screen. In my opinion , it would sell better if it were to be released on 3DS but it would be a better product if it were to be released on Wii U. I would gladly like to hear you guys opinion about this and if you would support such a sort of remake. And if we eventually all seem to like the concept , why not make it happen? Where's demand there will be suplies.

I apolgize for bad the bad English and/or huge grammar mistakes , I hopes you guys can read it :p English isn;t my native language.

Given that we had representations like this on both the GameCube (twice) and the Wii, I think the Wii U might benefit from having a title like these. But since PBR was more battle oriented, some might like it more story oriented instead.

Yeah , my problem with PBR was that I didn't had to walk around and there wasn't a real story. It just wasn't that interesting and amusing for me. Gale of Darkness and Colloseum was more like a almost real handheld pokemon game brought to 3D with an , in my opinion , epic storyline. If they would've continued with the formula of these games it would've been a fine line of series. But I just don't know if I would buy a Wii U for this. It's really costly to do it for just one game (Besides mario cart I didn;t feel much for the other Nintendo games). I switched over to Xbox when I was 16 because I felt like the Wii didn't had any value to me anymore. I remember playing FIFA and I had to buy Ronaldo with stars , thats when I kinda realised I wanted a more mature console with , in my opninion , better shooters and RPG's. And I know I am not the only gamer that had this exact same feeling when reaching the age of 16-17. I think alot of people that like to play pokemon and grew up with these 2 games have a 3DS to play pokemon and don't own or buy a Wii U because they prefer an other console or PC over the Wii. Thats why I feel like releasing it on the 3DS would financially be a better idea.

I'm not judging the Wii U or saying it's childish because I know there are mature game for Wii U. I am also not saying one console is better than the other (I hate the console wars) I'm just saying why I switched over and I hear from online friends alot that they had exactly the same thing when they started to reach the age of 15-16. Especially in these times most people don't own 2 consoles and therefore not many people who grew up with the games have an Wii U and that's why I think releasing it on the Wii U could be a financial let down for Nintendo , even though it would make a better product on the Wii U.

There's nothing I'd love more than a Colosseum/XD remake, those games were spectacularly fun! I'd even love to play the same games just remade for the Wii U with the newer Pokémon, that would definitely boost Wii U sales in the process.

lol, it's always the people whose English is pretty good who say stuff like "sorry for my bad English"

Anyway, I would like to see Gale of Darkness/Colosseum remakes since I never played those ones and tracking down a copy isn't something I feel like doing. Or even similar but new games would be great. It'd be just another thing on the list of reasons I wanna get a WiiU. I haven't played a non-handheld Pokemon game since Stadium 2.

I really don't, not exactly. One thing I hated was how there were no wild pokemon and you could only catch other trainer's shadow pokemon and there were only about 100 pokemon to catch (and not even 100 pokemon species, but literally 100 single pokemon and that's it) not only that the battles were sometimes ridiculously long and tedious because you couldn't just KO everything because you need to be careful not to knock out the pokemon you were trying to catch, you can't EV train because there aren't wild pokemon to fight, you can't reset for natures so everything is just random so a pokemon you took an hour and a half to catch in a single battle (yes, that actually can happen) could have a terrible nature, bad IVs (which usually doesn't matter in game, but in this game since there are no wild pokemon and you depend entirely on trainer battles, even levelling up can be a chore) and it's just all around not that good until you can actually get far enough in the game to trade to the gameboy games where you can actually bring over your decent pokemon. So I personally wouldn't want a Colloseum or XD remake.

A Wii U pokemon RPG on the other hand, yes, I would very much love one of those! But it would need to have wild pokemon, cause after two games the trainer only thing got SO tedious and repetitive. No more snagging pokemon, and honestly, I would prefer a mainline pokemon on the home console. (and before people go on and on about Gamefreak saying they would never move from the handheld, they already DID move form the handheld when they started making the Pokemon RPG for the N64, even though it was cancelled and became one of the other games, the point is that at one time they were in fact willing to make a home console game, so however unlikely it is, it is still possible.)

What Pokemon RPG for the N64 did Game Freak try and make...? And I say that it's worth pointing out that Game Freak said that, because it's recent, or certainly much more recent than the N64 days. Whether they did long in the past try to doesn't change the fact that in multiple interviews in the last fews years they said they have no interest in moving off handhelds (and why should they? They're busy enough pushing Pokemon games at a game-a-year basis of late, plus the odd spin-off of the own e.g. Harmoknight, and that's working fine for them sales-wise, and all on hardware they know).

Yes, it is still possible, but you could say that of anything. It's much more likely that another company would do a Wii U title, namely Genius Sonority who did three GCN/Wii Pokemon titles and are still active with Pokemon spinoffs (Trozei sequel and now Shuffle).

As for the topic itself, I'd love another Colosseum/XD style game, or even another sequel for the Wii U. 3DS is doing just fine while the Wii U is what is lacking in Pokemon spinoffs of late, and has gained some traction lately with sales (what with MK8 and Smash). Granted, the games could use a polish - if it was set in Orre you would hope to see more in the way of routes and wild Pokemon you can find without bribing with cake! I doubt the 3DS would be an avenue - you'd want to separate the Game Freak titles from other spinoffs with the same game mechanics lest you cannibalise sales (while the 3DS does have a larger install base, not everyone bought the PMD game that came out on it, nor did it rate all too well from what I read, and if it's too alike to the generally more polished, more advertised, more known Game Freak titles and on the same system...)

A battling sim like PBR would make even less sense on the 3DS too because you have that with wifi in the multiplayer parts of XY/ORAS. Meanwhile it still needs to be something unique to what Game Freak does (which would imo be a point towards another Shadow Pokemon game).

The point about demand for it though... it's not a great demand. Sure, Colo/XD and even PBR made sales, it just weren't nearly as high as the handheld titles. I think it'd sell respectively, but not fantastically if on the Wii U, and harder to gauge if on the 3DS.

Whatever it is, if it happens, there needs to be Miror B in there. :V And yes, I'd want a story mode in there rather than just another PBR or even stadium (which was battling + some minigames.)

It was called Pocket Monsters RPG or something, got cancelled and became Pokemon Stadium instead. Also Do you not remember both nintendo and Gamefreak (within the last 4 years) saying they had no interest in expanding into the mobile games market, yet here we are now with Solitiba, Pokemon Trading Card Game Online by gamefreak (not to mention the non game apps Gamefreak is making and has made such as the Pokemon TV app), and Nintendo (which they denied just over a year ago is also now making mobile apps) https://kotaku.com/nintendo-confirms-it-will-make-stuff-and-maybe-games-1512052047 so how often do companies have to say they won't do something, then turn around and do it, before you entertain the thought that there's no such thing as never. If something can prove to be profitable, they're going to do it. It's the initial hump of proving that profit can be made is the difficult part.
