    I have heard so many nicknames for different pokemon i can´t even count them, even can´t name nearly 10.
    So how´s this:
    In this Thread Describe:

    Pokemon/NickName given
    Version
    Why that nickname

    I´ve personally had my share of them( take this as an example) :
    Lugia/Silver ( recently Soul )
    Spiky-eared pichu/SpikedChu
    Horse/Seadra/Kingdra/MegaZord ( Yeah i know, i traded that one over to evolve and look how it came back LoL )

    And I´ve also heard of a guy who named His Quagsire as Quagmire and Meaganium as MEGanium.
    So just go on naming!
    Oh i almost forgot it!
    Did you know that a nicknamed pokemon gets happiness as soon as you nickname it?
     
    I had a feeling about the happiness. I never knew but I sorta assumed and hoped.

    I have:

    Infernape/Infernrape, Torterra/Torterror, Typhlosion/Tysplosion, etc etc.

    My greatest nickname of all was when I caught a Magikarp and named it Magikrap. Then later it evolved and I was like WTF MY GAME IS GLITCHING because I thought that the name didn't switch to Gyarados. Oh how I was wrong.

    I always name my pokemon funny things, just because. laughing enemies are weaker enemies. here we go.

    Abomnasnow - Obamasnow
    Mamoswine - BACON!!!
    Empoleon - pengWIN
    kabutops - ninjafish
    lickialicki - suckyasucky
    politoed - toedpoli

    The poison-themed team I have in the works have the following nicknames:

    Petals the Roserade
    Shadow Man the Gengar
    Man-O-War the Tentacruel
    Knuckles the Toxicroak
    Skillorpi the Drapion
    Ninja Bat the Crobat

    Not the best, but it'll suffice for differentiating between my in-game crobat and haunter and my competitive ones. :D
     
    I named my Machop HM B*tch.
    And my togepi Scrotum, so when I stuck it in the daycare center I went out and talked to the old man and he said to me "Hello! Your scrotum is doing fine.."

    Yeah, I always knew that old man was a perv... xD

    I am win? well... thanks :D i figure in honor of my epic win-ness ill tell you my non-competetive teams nicknames. You know, the team in my signature.

    teddiursa - pedobear
    politoed - toedpoli (same one)
    toxicroak - CrazyFrog
    Zangoose - IAMZORO
    Dewgong - RetardSeal

    Yep, not as funny as my competetive team but there you go.

    Oh, and i named my garchomp JAWS in my normal runthrough. =P
     
    Oh, c'mon. In your youth none of you ever thought it was funny to have a Metapod or a Kakuna named "D*ick"?

    I also once pissed off my friend really bad when I claimed to have a Mew (This was before I knew about the glitch). We battled and I sent out... A Poliwag named Mew xD

    I'm a Darkwing Duck fan, so here's what I named others:
    Electabuzz: Megavolt
    Venasaur and Meganium: Bushroot
    Blastoise: Liquidator ("Triumph now with the Liquidator!")

    Meh, I used to put just "dude" after the name, like for Blastoise, it would be "Blastdude", Gengar, "Ghostdude"...you get the drift.
     
    Obamasnow = Abomasnow Gonna name my snover that when he evolves!
     
    I don't usually nickname my Pokemon, but here a few I did just to mess around.

    Krabby - Zoidberg
    Poliwag/Poliwhirl/Poliwrath - WigglyJig
    Scyther - Throax (The Impaler)
    Jigglypuff - Highlander
    Milktank - Ms. Thang
    Ponyta - Horse

    And the name's of some of the Pokemon I've got from trading with my friends.

    Wooper - Yam
    Oddish - Raddish
    Absol - IAmLgnd
    Rayquaza - Pikachu
     
    I have a weird habit of putting XXXy as a pokémon's nickname. For instance the one that started the trend in Silver was Ampharos/Amphy, but I've also had things like Splashy, Zappy, Zigzagoon/Ziggy and etcetera.

    Oh and I hve a Piplup called Pingu XD.
