4th Gen Pokemon Emerald with DS (HELP!!!)

    Hey!

    I'm contemplating whether or not to get Nintendo DS with Pearl or Diamond. There is one thing I haven't been able to find out so I'll tell you the story. I've spent quite a lot of time with my Pokemon Emerald trying to complete the Pokedex, I've got 365 out of the complete 384. What I was wondering is that when you go to play Emerald with the DS, can you trade worldwide and battle world wide because of the WiFi. Because with that feature, I'd be able to complete my pokedex by trading with someone and trading back.

    So Please help me!!!

    No, you won't be able to do that because Emerald isn't compatible with wi-fi. Only Diamond and Pearl can do that. You pretty much still have to trade with those around you who have any of the other 4 Advance generation games if you ever want to complete your Pokedex.

    Also, you can't trade back Pokemon once you migrate them from your Emerald game to your Diamond or Pearl game.
     
    I'm not totally getting you there.
    So is there any possible way to complete my pokedex by trading, can I trade from pearl to emerald?

    Argh I'm so confused.

    Oh I get it,

    The four other games are ruby, sapphire, leaf green and fire red.

    you can move the pokemon from a gameboy advance game to diamond or pearl. then you can do the trades from the ds game. BUT you cannot trade back, so you'd need to do some rebreeding.
     
    Thanks! I'm not going to breed them, I'm going to give the game to my younger sibling(after I put them onto Diamond). But how do you do the moving to the Pokemon Diamond from the Pokemon Emerald?
     
    once you beat the E4 and see 149 sinnoh pokemon, go to celestic city and talk to the mayor, she will "show" you palkia. then go to sandgem, and go into the lab. you will get a national pokedex. THEN, take the water route out of sandgem (bring repels!) and go into the building at the end (you can fly to it like a pokecenter) and oak will talk to you and let you use the pal park.

    Save, restart your game, now by contine new game and wifi settings, the option "migrate from emerald" (or whatever game you inserted) will be there. choose it, say yes to each question. then choose the 6 that will migrate today. (you can only do it once every 24 hours, and changing the ds clock resets it) then go back into the game, start a catching game in the pal park, and throw the park bals at your old pokemon (park balls are like master balls, its just an easy minigame)

    one last thing, you need to delete any hm moves they know before migrating them.
