So right now, I've just conquered Juan, Emerald's eighth Gym Leader. I've begin the tedious journey of preparation and research period before I actually even enter Victory Road. Right now I'm still poking around Hoenn, catching pokemon, finding items, etc. Training my pokemon is not an object, at this point in time at least, neither is acquiring pokemon, or changing moves(other than TM moves, I'm willing to catch as many Luvdiscs as it takes :D). So here is my idea for the Elite Four.

I do realize a few of my pokemon have become HM slaves. As I said before, I can and most likely will change this.

If I label a pokemon with the word CORE, then that means it's type is almost required to beat the E4. They are Fighting, Water, Ice, Electric, and Fire, if I'm not mistaken. Feel free to correct me here.

PS: I'm just your average joe Pokemon player, this IV and EV stuff is WAAAAY beyond me. Keep your comments short, sweet, and to the point. :)

    CURRENT POKEMON
    I) CORE Swampert Lvl. 42. Good tanking Pokemon, powerful Water moves. Looking for a good second Ground Type move.

    -Surf
    -Dive/Waterfall
    -Strength
    -Earthquake

II) CORE Voltorb Lvl. 42. Genderless, earless machine of rape, so no possibility of screech/infatuation . Very fast, very powerful.

    -Thunderbolt
    -Thunder
    -Flash
    -Spark

III) CORE Torkoal Lvl. 33. This little beauty been sitting in the PC for a while. I've got a good moveset for it though, so if I just level it up a bit, then I should be good. Lots of defense/SpA on this little beast.

    -Flamethrower
    -Overheat
    -Fire Blast
    -Body Slam

    IV)Rayquaza Lvl. 71.
As always, the legendary pogeymans. Good attack/SpA, not too shabby speed. If anyone knows a good Dragon type move for this thing, don't hesitate to tell me.

    -Fly
    -ExtremeSpeed
    -Rest
    -Outrage

V)Hariyama Lvl. 35. Monster Health and Attack, had to sideline it for the past few gyms.

    -Dynamicpunch
    -Smellingsalt
    -Vital Throw
    -Rock Smash

VI)My HM slave sableye, phasing it out with a spheal. No comment here. :X

    ALTERNATE POKEMON

1)Aggron. Swap for: Slot VI. Great Defense and Offense, potential secondary tank. Needs moar Elemental Punches/Fangs/etc.

    -Iron Tail
    -Metal Claw
    -Strength
    -Rock Tomb

2)Absol. Swap for: Slot VI. Fast and Deadly, great moveset too.
    -Shadow Ball
    -Bite(Soon to be Crunch)
    -Slash
    -Swords Dance

3)Machoke. Swap for: Haryima. I might've invested a lot of time in Hariyama, but I've heard this is a well-rounded fighting pokemon. Don't think I'll have to waste too much time leveling one caught in Victory Road.

4)Walrein. I've heard this is a fairly good pokemon to have, not only is it CORE, but it has Water/Ice on it's side. So yeah, comment, tell me to change moves, etc.

The Elites are Dark -> Ghost -> Ice -> Dragon -> Water btw. Put in Absol instead of your HM slave, it will help with Phoebe (Ghost). For Rayquaza, another good Dragon attack would be Dragon Claw, you can get it via Heart Scale or TM 02. Though, Outrage is probably all you will need. I suggest teaching Swampert Ice Beam (TM 13) as a back-up for Drake (Dragon), but you lose a TM (however, you can buy it in the Mauville Game Corner).

Absol - Gotta double whammy for it's strengths/weaknesses triangle. I got shadow ball to use on other dark types. >:D
    Ice Beam-Shoot, I haven't even gambled yet. @_@
Rayquaza - Yeah, I'll probably replace it for Rest. I'm not too much of a defensive player.

You can get the TM for Ice Beam in the Abandoned Ship near Dewford, so you dont have to neccessarily spend $80000 on coins for Ice Beam. Return over Strength on Swampert is preffered too, as Return has more base power. You can get TM27 Return from Prof. Cozmo in a house in Fallorbar Town in exchange for the meteorite you get from Mt. Chimney (you might have not got it. if not, get it from a man in a house in Pacifidlog Town.)

I'm just letting you know, this Hariyama will be destroyed by Phoebe, who has Ghost-types. Machamp is better
