Pokemon copied from Dragon Quest series??

Well Dragon Quest came first, but Pokemon is much better,

Also, Pokemon Games came before Dragon Quest!

SO HAHA.

I think anyways. Pokemon rules and dragon quest probably sucks.
Yeeeeaaaaahh, Dragon Quest was first released in Japan in 1986 (1989 in the US). So no, Pokemon was second in this case. Also, can you seriously say Dragon Quest is worse when you apparently haven't played it?

Anyway, to the article itself: first of all, the usage of "inspirated," which isn't even a word, immediately told me I shouldn't take it too seriously... let's take a look at each point one by one, shall we?

"1. Battle style
Both of the games use Turn-Based style which looks pretty similar in both games, as you can see."
I can see a couple of similarities, but so what if they're both turn-based? RPGs are either that or real time, and the perspective both use is one of the two most common ones (the other being Final Fantasy "enemies on one side, heroes on the other" setup).

"2. Maximum stats
In both games capacity of every stat is 255."
This is true for a lot of games. It's called programming. Pretty irrelevant 'point' here.

"3. Monsters
In both games you can have monsters fighting by your side, and some of them looks almost same."
This is pretty much the closest thing to an actual point the article has. However, this happens in other games, too (go look at the "Mons" article over on TV Tropes for an idea of how common this is), and I have no idea when the first time Dragon Quest used the idea was, so I can't really call coincidence on it. However, I'd prefer if they gave some actual examples of how some of them look almost the same. Of the Dragon Quest monsters I'm familiar with, none of them really seem Pokemon-like to me.

"4. Genre
Both games are in RPG genre"
This, children, is what we call "grasping for straws."

"5. Casinos
Both games have casino games like slots on them"
As if I have to say it, but... so what? These are not the only two games that simulate gambling in them. Just... wow.

So yeah... this article is pretty bad, very poorly written, and bases its conclusions on coincidences and circumstantial evidence.

Maximum Stats is a lie.
It's possible to have stats exceeding 500 in Pokemon.
