Sooo I heard about a game called Pokemon Box for I think Gamecube that lets you store Pokemon from Ruby and Sapphire? Does anyone have this? Is there any point to it, I mean there's gotta be enough room in R/S (I haven't played them.)

Does it make it easier to transfer Pokemon from one game to another or something? Apparently you get prize Pokemon with special moves just by uploading a certain amount. Oh, and you can play the GBA games on the tv.

I don't have it, so I can't really answer it very well, but the "playing GBA games on the TV" aspect, well, I can use the GameBoy Player for that. ^^ Also, it's kinda dated now there is Pokemon Ranch which absically does the exact same purpose but with the new games (well, Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl...)

But I guess if you want more space on the GBA games, it could be useful. ^^ Plus, I guess it's also useful if you want to sort your Pokemon. :\

I own this. It's basically as you've heard- not really a game per se, but rather a fancy storage system. There's more room to store Pokemon than in the main games though-the PCs in R/S/E/FR/LG only have 14 boxes with space for 30 Pokemon each, while Pokemon Box has 25 boxes that can each hold 60 Pokemon.

You can transfer Pokemon between other copies of the game, but with initial restrictions. If the Pokemon being transferred didn't come from the game they're being moved to, that game must have Pokedex data with 100 complete entries, plus a few other requirements that vary between games (for example, in FR/LG you have to complete a post-Elite Four sidequest, one that requires you to have the National Dex to do).

When you first use Pokemon Box, you will be given a Pokemon egg that contains a Pokemon with a move it can't normally learn. After that, every time you deposit enough Pokemon from the same game, you will get another.

Playing the games on tv with Pokemon Box is very limited-you can only play Ruby and Sapphire; the others are restricted to the the Pokemon storage functions. As Retribution said, you're better off using a Game Boy Player for that.

There's also some sort of Showcase mode, but I've never messed with it. From what I understand you just arrange Pokemon figures.
