Ok, I recently have found this banned episode of pokemon on youtube. Here is the link

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciccKjGvG9g&feature=related

I didnt think they would actually put that into a pokemon episode. I mean children watch pokemon. Its just not a good idea to do that and plus its not a good influence at all! I have found even more banned pokemon episodes too! Like this one (NOTE: Watch at your own risk)

Please let me know what you think about all this. I guess im over reacting but I didnt think they would put that stuff in a pokemon episode.

Japan has different standards, I suppose they don't think they have to shield children from life. (I thought America was OK with guns? I mean, they're actually legal there)

But from your reacton, I'm guessing you haven't seen Holiday at Aopulco

That was the Dratini episode. It left the plot hole where Ash catches all of his Tauros. It aired like 11 years ago.

I'm pretty sure this episode wasn't banned. Nor was that scene cut. I remember seeing it, but maybe that's my aging mind.

But I do think you're over reacting a tad bit. Forget it, you're just over reacting.

There are a lot of banned episodes, well only 3 or so and 2 that didn't get shown because they were just clip shows. But I'm pretty sure there were time cuts of the actual episodes when PUSA got. Only extensions of the To Be Continued image, which is at most 3 seconds.

@Jorah: We are okay with them, 4Kids isn't unless they shoot lasers :D.

First off, let me say I can understand why certain pokemon episodes were banned (seizures anyone?). However, is it really necessary or is it just sheltering children even further. Back in the day cartoons featured material that by today's standards is considered edgy all the time. For instance, name one Looney Tunes character that hasn't either been shot or shot at. Buggs Bunny is one of the most infamous cross dressers of all times complete with lots of cleavage (as also seen in the banned episode with James doing the same thing) and no one saw anything against that. The violence contained in just a single Tom and Jerry cartoon is staggering by todays standards. Cartoons then were even used for propiganda purposes such as the anti-nazi theme seen in many of the cartoons in the day (Even Superman fought nazis and the japanese). Now anything political is considered too edgy. I'm not saying expose children at an early age to this stuff, I'm just saying that all this censorship seems unnecessary. Our parents and grandparents grew up on those kind of cartoons and they seem to have turned out alright.

I agree with everything you said and it's made me wonder, if they didn't over censor so much stuff how would children turn out today.... Classic's will be the best, now half the shows they air now hardly make sense, like Chowder.. wtf if up with that ._. but I'm getting off topic, so I'll chill

Well, I think everyone knows on the episodes you're mentioning, so let's knock it off with the YouTube clips.

Anyway, then there are some episodes that Japan pulled beforehand, like the "The Battle of the Shaking Island! Dojotchi vs. Namazun!!" episode. Details within the link.

That was because of sensitivity issues, and I don't think we'll ever see it. So, that's the way it goes. It's the Ice Cave banning that bugged me, since I like Jynx. Though, I can see why they banned it, since she didn't receive her purple face makeover until AG (I believe).

The first one was pretty funny that the guy was so belligerent, but the guns did make his character kind of confusing. The interrogation scene with Team Rocket is hysterical though. I wish they had aired the episode, even it was censored, because I found three or four events that led to references in other episodes (ie, the Tauroses Ash caught, Team Rocket's desire for Dratini, Misty's lure collection).

The second one makes sense in context but yes, I did see the dubbed version of it and it WAS cut out. Maybe it was because he was running in a speedo, not jogging shorts or something.

There are 5 banned/restricted episodes if I recall, and I have differing opinions of each.

The first involving James in a bikini was just funny. I didn't see anything wrong with it, heh. Though I know Americans are a little iffy about showing things like that to children.

The one involving the gun and explosives was a little extreme for a children's show, I agree.

The most famous one(Electric Soldier Porygon) was banned because of all those people who got the seizures. And as a result, Porygon and his future evolutions have never made appearances in the anime since. The problem I have with this is that the actual scene in the episode that caused the seizures was caused by Pikachu.

The Jynx episode was like the first I mentioned, just funny. I seriously doubt Jynx was meant to poke fun at black women, jeez. And the one in this episode just wanted to give Brock a kiss, XD.

And finally, the Whiscash episode. Nothing was wrong with the episode really, it just suffered from bad timing. I agree with it not being shown at the time, but I think it should be released now, at least on DVD or something.

I understand why all of those eps were banned, except for the Jynx one.

For crying out loud; this one lady got offended by Jynx and they have to go and ban this ep. Sheesh.

Yes. I agree with you completly. The majority of people worry too much, too soon. :tired:

Thinking about it, I think this is the first person I've ever heard out of the whole fandom that was offended by these scenes. But then, a while back in the DP games section, there was that person who said their mum phoned up Nintendo because Team Galectic wanted to blow up the pixel city. So I don't know.

Ah, I see XD Well, that scene was cut from the dub, but the episode wasn't banned. I think that's the only scene cut by PUSA?

I saw nothing wrong with it really, you see guns all the time in those daffy duck cartoons,, Now this is funny

That was hilarious. I also loved the other one about the metroids with the googly eyes.

Well, you told me there were no time cuts (Yeah, I remember that) since PUSa got it so I'm just assuming. I guess I'll go visit Dogasu's page.

They also show guns and people being shot on the Simpsons.
