In the world of pokemon people HAVE to eat right? And I havn't really paid attention to the food in pokemon but what do they eat? They eat veggies and rice but do they eat pikaburgers too? I just want to know what they eat.

They do eat meat, its been shown with shops having burgers and stuff in stands and on the shopfronts. Remember when TR tried to eat Magikarp?

I thought they ate Pokefood that Brock made??

The people dont eat the same things as the pokemon. Thats like you eating dog food.

O_o... Well I think the simple answer is...

Pokemon and all things related to them are not real. Thus, making all feelings, emotions, pokemon, people, sayings, Fake.

    No need to wonder.

Sorry if this hurts your feelings... but its the truth.

I'd say they use grumpig for most food products like hot dogs(unless there's another pig pokemon), and miltank for burgers and such!

Official Pokemon Center of Japan answer, taken from this Excite News article:
The world of Pokemon is a world similar to ours, but it's not the same.
So their lifestyles are different, and there's no need to eat meat. Instead, they eat berries, nuts and bread that resemble pancakes.
I'm assuming the above only applies to the Pokemon games however, since the anime/manga conflicts.

    Simple.

They wrote Pokemon one day. Wrote about someone eating hamburgers, then wrote more about Pokemon.

Storyboard Artist 1: Holy shiznut, I just thought of something.
    Storyboard Artist 2: What?
Storyboard Artist 1: They're eating food. Meat. What about the poor Pokemon? Do they use them for food?
Storyboard Artist 2: Oh well, leave it. Probably no one will notice anyway.
Storyboard Artist 1: Okay. Cool. I'm getting paid for it anyway.

Simple enough, I think, for anyone to understand =]

I seem to recall one episode in the first season that they talked about Toraus(sp.) brugers. I think it was the one with that professor and Slobrow. Also, they all tried to eat Magikarp and thought up some pretty crazy ideas that seemed like a real dish. They also drink Miltank milk... so maybe?

They eat their deceased pokemon, when it dies in battle.

&&Couldn't this go in the pokemon for lunch thread?

Yes, the people of the Pokémon world eat the Pokémon. The fishermen do at least.
In Pokémon Diamond / Pearl / Platinum Versions, there is a story in the Canalave City Library, the Sinnoh Folk Tales.

    ""Sinnoh Folk Story 1"
Pick clean the bones of Pokémon
caught in the sea or stream.
Thank them for the meals they
provide, and pick their bones clean.
When the bones are as clean as can
be, set them free in the water from
    which they came.
    The Pokémon will return, fully
fleshed, and it begins anew. will return, fully
    fleshed, and it begins anew."

Another Sinnoh Legend also suggests the eating of Pokémon...
This story is a bit longer, so I put it in a Spoiler

    Spoiler:

You can read more Sinnoh Myths, and legends from here:

On the first season a Gastly turned into a Mongoose, but I dont think people eat them.. Or do they?

I don't eat any animals, so I would never eat pokemon. How did you even get the idea? oO lol.

The Pokemon anime has too many inconsistencies for it to be taken too literally.
