Pokemon Adventures I: Kanto Saga!​

Welcome to the World of Pokemon!​

The world of Pokemon, a place full of many surprises. A world where humans and Pokemon live together. Some living in peace, love, and happiness... others live in hate, reject, and suffer the cruel things about life... but if you think about it, Pokemon and humans could live together without extreme consequence. Unless their owners are cruel of heart, like a number of organizations scattered across the Pokemon World. The world consists of many countries and regions, the capital of Pokemon is currently known as, Kanto. This entire region is home to creatures known only as Pokemon.

Kanto is located in the center of Japan. Here, there are many Pokemon Trainers, aiming to be the best with aid from Prof. Oak. The top, leading Pokemon Scientist in Japan. But there are also thieves and crooks, the lowliest of them all is known only as... Team Rocket. This is the most evil organization in Japan, and probably the entire world. They do various maniacal things: Steal Pokemon from innocent bystanders, make them do their biddings, and worst of all, capture and use for evil, legendary pokemon. Thanks to their constant interfering in Kanto, the slumber of the pure pokemon has been disturbed. Her son, the pokemon who's heart has been tainted was created from a cell of his mother and from the arm of a scientist, and now walks the earth, planning to get revenge. The three legendary pokemon of Kanto are now in a rage, soaring across the region of Kanto. Worst of all, all these events are occurring right during the time that Professor Oak, the top leading pokemon scientist in all of Japan, is sending out three trainers to complete his invention, the pokedex created by him and his aides. Can these three teenagers face all the perilous events? Who knows…?​

Pokemon Basics:

Pokemon Trainers:

At the age of eleven, any person can obtain their Training License from designated distributors. A Training License allows a person to legally own and battle Pokemon.

Once a year, Pokemon trainers can enlist in a Pokemon league. Official League battles are any battles that take place between two members of the league. Gym battles, Invitational, major tournaments, etc usually televised. Once a year, the championship tournament is held, where trainers with at least eight gym badges compete to be recognized as the best trainer in the league. Unless previously agreed otherwise, official league battles are six-on-six, free substitution. The exception to this is Gym Leaders in gym battles, who are not allowed substitution.

Pokeballs: The basic tool for any Pokemon Trainer is the Pokeball. Since the invention of the Pokeball their have been a few modifications to it.

Pokeball/Monsterball: The original model, transparent red top, solid white bottom. It doesn't have any perks to it, just a plain pokeball.

Greatball/Superball: This model is an enhanced model from the original ball, it has an enhanced capture rate. A transparent blue top with small red stripes on it with a solid white bottom.

Ultraball/Hyperball: This is the highest capture rate enhanced model of the pokeball arsenal. These pokeballs usually host rare pokemon to ensure their capture. Transparent black top with a yellow "H" on it and a solid white bottom.

Safariball: This is a special model that is used only in a designated Safari Zone for special captures in the premises of the park. This is the most manufactured model of them all, due to the fact that a host designates a trainer twenty Safariballs for their game. It has a transparent camouflage top with a solid white bottom.

Cities and Towns

Pallet Town: Welcome to your home: Pallet Town. The small township is located in the southern part of Kanto, surrounded on all sides by light forest and the ocean to the south. Though you will stray far from home while exploring Kanto and becoming a Pokemon Master, this place will always remain special.

Viridian City: Viridian City is the biggest township you have visited yet. The city has its own Gym, which is where you must go to prove yourself as a Pokemon Trainer. Although you cannot compete in the Viridian Gym just yet (Patience Young Trainer) explore the rest of the town.

Pewter City: Pewter City is home to the first Gym you can compete in- against Gym Leader Brock. After touring this pleasant little burg, head for the Gym and prove yourself against this accomplished Trainer. Emerge victorious and you are well on your way to becoming a Pokemon Master.

Cerulean City: Your next stop, Cerulean City, lies along the north of Kanto. After passing through the rocky straits, you come to this quiet community, complete with its own Gym.

Vermillion City: Vermillion City is situated at the south end of the long series of Underground Roads. The city hosts its own Gym, in which you must compete if you want to earn the necessary talents to progress deep into Kanto. Check out all of the town's features, such as the Pokemon Fan Club and the luxurious S.S. Anne. Didn't Bill give you a ticket for a boat ride?

Lavender Town: Lavender, a small town at the mouth of the Dark Cave, is home to the Pokemon Tower. This small town hosts a tower where Pokemon are buried and are grieved over. There is a legend of ghosts haunting the tower, but its all just rumors…right?

Celadon City After trailing through yet another Underground Road you come to Celadon City, too bad Saffron is blocked, it would be much faster! Celadon City is one of the major Kanto metropolises complete with Gym and a Giant Pokemart! After your done sight-seeing take a gander at the gymleader- Erika the Grass Mistress.

Fuchsia City: Located near the southern coast, Fuchsia City is a small town nestled on the flatland. Though the city is very isolated from the other cities, it still boats many modern conveniences, such as a Pokemart and pokemon center, as well as a gym in the town's south. And probably the most visited spot in all of Kanto, the Safari Zone!

Saffron City: If Saffron City isn't one of the biggest cities in Kanto, at least it's the business capital of Kanto. The Saffron City Silph Co. Building is a monument to the hard work put into many technological advances in Kanto. But lately, there's something odd about that building. Try out the Pokemon Dojo Gym to fight some cool karate guys, and of course there's always the Saffron Gym!

Cinnabar Island: Cinnabar Island is an island town to the south-western of Kanto's main landmass. The island is home to the Cinnabar Gym, and Kanto's Pokemon Research Facilities, the building where Pokemon Cell Research is being done. And something's amiss in the abandoned Mansion, better go check it out!

Indigo Plateu:Locate in the center of a large plain, the Indigo Plateu, where Pokemon Trainers aspire to take on the Pokemon League Championship. Once you prove yourself worthy by coming up victorious in the League Competition you can take on another trainer in the Finals!

Rules
1) Please use legible writing during this roleplay. You only have to write one to two paragraphs [two being preferred] in each post and you MUST have legible writing to join in. If you don't have legible writing, you won't be allowed to join. [this is only because your posts might be incomprehensible, so make sure you can type on here!]
2) Only Slight Godmodding/Power Playing! You may slightly powerplay with another person's character, but don't take COMPLETE control of another's character. You can take complete control of another character, but this applies only to if you're unable to be on a computer or your character has the able to control other people or their actions. However, there is absolutely no godmoding whatsoever!
3) Please don't make a mary-sue or gary-stu and put them in the RP. Give your characters some flaws, don't make them the brother or sister of a canon character, and just make them human! There aren't going to be any supernatural beings in this RP, so don't turn them into some weird creature; supernatural powers are allowed, but not supernatural beings.
4) Only one shiny on your team. You are allowed only one Shiny Pokemon in your team at a time. You can catch a few Shiny Pokemon, but not too many. And you can only have ONE of them in your main party.
5) You are not allowed to have a legendary pokemon! You are not able to catch or allow legendaries into your team. Only under special conditions can these legendaries enter your team.
6) If you are leaving for awhile inform me first via PM. This is to prevent large blanks in the rpg, and to let me know you haven't lost interest and dropped the rpg.
7) Kanto Pokémon only on your team. This is a major rule, you are only allowed to have Kanto Pokemon Species in your team! That is Numbers 001-151, excluding the legendaries.
8) Please Obey ALL Rules. This is very improtant, please follow of these listed rules plus more rules. Such as, when we enter a new areas I will post what Pokemon appear and hoe often they do, do not make something that isn't supposed to be there appear! Also, your Pokemon's attacks are learned according to Platinum version. You can be in charge of when they learn what attacks, just please make it believable. Dont go,
"Charmander, use Blast Burn! Then Fire Blast! ZOMG, your evolving!"
Evolving is also in the same matter, make them evolve in a believable manner.

Hair Color: . His hair is somewhere in between a perfect blonde hair and bright golden hair. The former is reached when it is perfectly dry, and the latter is reached when he has very wet hair. He never wears a hat, but constantly keeps it spiked up on the top about two inches up from front to back, kind of like a Caesar, spiked hair, or sometimes a phaux hawk.
Hair Length: Half way down the forhead to the eye's. Pretty short unspiked, and rather dull.
Hair Style: Spiked, messed-up-just-got-out-of-bed-look, caesar, and phauhawk.
Eye Color: His bright, light blue eyes match up perfectly with his hair

Body Structure: . He is somewhat skinny, but this is due mostly to his body type. In the last few years he has been working out and building quite a bit of muscle on his chest and arms.
Basic Clothing: He is almost never caught without some pair of blue jeans out in the wild. He has several alone in his backpack ranging from light blue to dark blue, and all shades in each. He also likes to wear T-shirts (black, white, brown, blue), and sometimes with a light, dark blue jacket with orange and white stripes running through the upper chest area/shoulders. Other times with a cyan farmers shirt jacket, black shirt jacket or a slightly furry beige shirt jacket. When the cold/rainy weather roles around, he wears a dark blue thick hooded sweater or his favourite dark brown leather jacket. Ian always wears grey airwalk skateboarding shoes, with black and white stripes running along it. He carries a grey backpack and a black laptop case around with him, both of which have pokeball holders.

Personality: Ian is a very agressive person when it comes to, well pretty much anything. He is always confident in himself, almost to a point of pride, but his confidence has paid out in much of his life. Although he may be independent in many things, such as pokemon battles, he loves to make new friends. Friendship is a very important thing in Ian's life, he wouldn't know where he would be without the experiences from his childhood friends. Once he has made a friend, he will tend to joke around alot. He is very funny and a joking about almost anything, however he is also capable of being serious. He will often challenge his friends to almost anything new he attempts, and loves competition. His confidence often helps him win battles, but when he loses he is crushed. He will need to learn more from losing in a pokemon battle before he is able to accept losses more easily. Until then he will remain a trainer that is strong and confident, as will his pokemon. Ian hates and fears spiders and spider pokemon are by far the worst for him. So he has a hard time dealing with bug pokemon. His favourite elements are lightning and ice, and he loves both those types of Pokemon. He gets cold very easily, preferring warm weather. But when it comes to a challenge he will brave anything to win.
History: Ian was born and raised in Celadon City. His mother was names Susanne, she was a nurse at the local hospital, and his father was a chiropractor. His parent's beliefs and morals made him into the proud and confident young man he is today. He has always spent his life around pokemon, while in school or in Celedon. He also has seen a few encounters in the wild with his father, although he never really got into pokemon. When Ian finally finished Grade School, he decided to take a year or two off and travel. When he heard of Professor Oak handing out pokemon for beginner trainers, he decided to give it a shot. So he packed up his things and bought a train ticket to pallet town.
Starter: Well I usually take Pikachu cause Riachu is my favourite final evoltion, but I guess Bulbasaur is good choice too.

My RPG, and one of the biggest on Asari.org:

Haldariad stepped into the muddened streets of what the Humans called the city of Nuln. The closest Empire city to that of Athel Loren, it surely wasn't the cleanest, and this disgusted Haldariad. This is what using wood and natural resources did to society, they became lazy and trash built up everywhere. Simple needs, and no polluting or using too much wood, left Athel Loren tame, majestic and beautiful. He hadn't been gone from its sacred borders for more then a fort night and already, he missed it. Standards out here were limited, as were untainted forests.

He regreted ever leaving Athel Loren, but it wasn't by his choice either. It was by his mistake and failure that he was out here. He almost chuckled to himself, as he remembered a friend from decades past. He almost felt like a slayer, his long friend Hargolin who helped him defeat a vampire. He still had yet to help him find his noble death as he had promised. After the defeat of the beastmen at the village, the party seemed to scatter, and only Hargolin and Haldariad were left. Even they seperated paths after Haldariad led him back to the fortress of Karak-a-Norn. Still why he came to the filthy lands of the empire was a mystery to him. Even these streets seemed to make the rundown, peasant infested towns of Brettonian look like a haven to all. It was more of his Elven curosity that had led him to this far land. Over his lifetime he had travelled around Brettonia, aiding them from a major Skaven invasion at Quennelles and Brionne, and the recent vampire hunt. With alot of time on his hands, he wanted to explore the whole world, and so he decided to start where the so called center of the world, or at least old world, was.

He continued down the old, beat-up brick road. It seemed to go more uphill, just slightly as he entered the town. He was surprised to hear Nuln was renowned for their sewer system here. If that were true, he would probably pass out in any other major empire city. It continued to rain and poor even harder then before. Ever since he had left Athel Loren the weather had been poor for him. Rain drenched his coat, and the cold windy mountain cross over nearly cost him his life. He was lucky enough to find a secret passage over not too many knew about. A major pass would have caused trouble and possibly put him in danger. Wolves had slowed down his progress, and a few goblins had even annoyed him enough to make him personally see to all of their deaths.

To coutner the rain, he lifted his hood overtop of his head. He felt really uncomfortable about this. His spiked up hair always got caught in it and it messed his hair up from time to time. Ontop of that, as if being an elf wasn't enough, he looked a whole foot taller. Overally though, it was a better deal for him. The rain would wash away all the purple berry juice and sap used to hold up his hair. To lose it now, would be a bad idea, as he would guess treesap and natural berries were scarce in Nuln. Under his cloak, he let his fingers slide across the handles of his Blades of the Shadow Glade. They were heavier then usual, but ever since he had left Athel Loren, it seemed it had been. He guessed the power was less effective as he distanced himself from Athel Loren, or his sullen mood slowly made it heavier. He felt on his back his spear from the Shadow Glade was still there as well. He didn't feel right having these blades still. They should have stayed back in Athel Loren for the next Lord of the Wardance. But like many of the recent events he had no choice in the matter.

As the rain continued to poor harder and harder, Haldariad decided inside might be better at this point. Outside of Athel Loren, he was still subseptable to many diseases from the street and a cold from the rain. He looked around with his elven eyes and spotted what appeared to be a drinking establishment called the "Blind Pig." He walked towards it, and right before entering it, he checked his cloak and boots. The very ground of Nuln showed markings of mud all over his elven cloak. He stood still in the rain, waiting for it to get washed off, without tracking mud onto it. Then he moved more quicker then a normal elf would and entered the Blind Pig.

The door slammed hard behind him, alot of the men in the building turned to look at him. Many must have had suspicions of him as an elf, and he was greatful he had his hood on that hid what would ahve given it completely away. The fire gave his face a glow that made it hard to destinguish his features. Eventually all the men quieted down and returned to look at their tables. Haldariad moved towards the bar, and conversed with the the owner of the "Blind Pig." His name was Heinz, a jolly and rather large man. Haldariad tried to avoid small talk, and moved towards a booth in the corner of the room. The window with the brightmoon light behind him would cover up his face even more.

He watched how the men of this side of the grey mountains acted. They enjoyed themself much like elves, but were much more foolish and stupid when drunk, and would commit acts many would find appoling. He decided to buy an ale from the bar. Outside of brettonia, he had never had human ale. As he sipped it down, he was surprised. For Human ale, it went down pretty well. It was no elf ale, but for a race that once lived in caves, he had to give them credit for it. The Brettonians were more renowned for their wine anyway.

After his ale was finished, he glanced once more across the room trying to recognize the faces of anyone he might know. As he followed across, two faces immediately stood out. Grotek and Felix. A dwarf and a man who had once led a force of dwarves from Karak-a-Norn upon Athel Loren that Haldariad defended against with his wardancers. Haldariad lost many wardancers, and the stalemate led the the dwarves reluctantly falling back to their keep. Haldariad would not forget a face like him, and he and Groteks had a personal grudge against one another. He remembered his vow to him that day. One day he would see to fullfilling the dwarf's goal in life.

Amongst the crowed he saw a face he didn't expect. Another slayer, just as cheerful, as if not having seen a friend in ages. His scar from shoulder to leg gave it away, and his missing eye, but all slayers were different. They each had their own... unique details to them. He could have sworn that the dwarf was Hargolin, from the vampire hunt in Brettonia. He removed his hood and walked behind Groteks, "Didn't think i'd see you in this lifetime Hargolin," he said with a grin. Everyone at the table turned to look at him. He and Groteks imediately locked eyes with one another.

My name is Plato, yes, I am named to the famous, wise man, but you asked me about the personality of my grandson Kevin, hmmm, Kevin sure is a guy you won't find twice, heh. No, Kevin is the only Kevin in this whole, mad world. Kevin is very silence, yes, he doesn't often interupt others and it looks like he doesn't have a tongue. That isn't something he has from me, hehe. Kevin isn't afraid or shy, but he doesn't say anything, when he doesn't have to. I'm proud of my grandson, yes. It's a very strong guy and also very HEADstrong, hahaha.
History: Plato: Yes, his history is one, he is born on the rim of this region, to be exactly in Virdin Town, a town thats so small, that it isn't on the majority of the maps of this region. He grew up with Pokémon. Unfortunately he became an orphan when he was 11 years old. Sincethen he stood here for a while, but I'm to old to raise children, so he went to his aunt and uncle in Viridian City. There he studied a while about Pokémon. He liked this study, but not that long ago he got mailed that he can get a Pokémon.

Kevin looked out the window, the Psyduck were jumping in and out of the river on the other side of the street. He looked at the paper in his jeans pocket and smiled a bit. Tomorrow is the great day. Finally he will receive his first Pokémon. He looked around and thought it was a good time to go outside. He just closed the door when he heard a yell. Kevin looked around and saw a girl being pulled by a couple of Sharpedo. They wanted to pull her into the water, probably to drawn it. Kevin runned to the girl and pulled it on one of the arms. But the Sharpedo were to strong. Oh man, he wished he had his Pokémon right now. He dived into the water, trying to distract the Sharpedo, or at least a couple of them. Kevin counted three Sharpedo, no wonder he couldn't pull out that girl. Kevin began to shout.
"He you, cowards, come and get me."
It kind of worked the Sharpedo persuited Kevin and Kevin swam as hard he could to the shore, but he get attacked by a Poliwrath. Kevin switched direction very quick. Still being pursuited by the Sharpedo.
Meanwhile the girl stood up. And pulled a Poké ball out of her bag.
"Cacnea, I choose you." she said and a Cacnea, became unleashed from the Poké ball.
"Cacnea, Pin Missile." Cacnea launched it's Pin Missile and it hit all three of the Sharpedo.
"And now Drain Punch." Its arm began to glow and it punched the first Sharpedo far into the water, just two left.
"Needle Arm, use your both arms." she said.
Both arms began to glow and Cacnea hit the other two Sharpedo, who followed their friend to the far end of the river.
"Thanks" Kevin said.
"Well, the one service deserves the other." the girl said. "My name is Melanie."
"Mine is Kevin, but I think I'm gonna take shower now, man that water is cold."
Both laughed a minute, but when that was done Kevin returned home to take a shower.

Haldariad56: It's a very impressive sign-up indeed. But I have one major problem, obviously you haven't read the rules thouroughly enough. I'm not going to tell you the problem because then you'll just correct your problem without reading the rules. So please go back and read the rules. Pending...

bigtukker: Your sign-up is descent, you've read the rules I see. But you didn't type out your party's attacks and other information. Your overall description for the fields in the sign-up are very low. For example; in body structure you put thin, but is he super thin with ribs showing. Or just scrawny, does he have nicely toned arms? Or toothpicks? You see what I mean, your entire sign-up lacks detail. Your personality and history are narrarated by plato? That's creative, but i was wondering why that was there. Sorry. But feel free to try again! Denied.

Hair Length: Stops just above her shoulders, with a nice portion of hair, that falls to her chin and covers her left eye.
Hair Style: Nina usually wear's her hair out, having it straight and wavy, with nothing ever done to it really.
Eye Color: Blue (right eye) Green (left eye) [she has heterochromia, most likely inherited from her birth mother]

Weight: 120lbs
Body Structure: Slim, with a medium build and slightly curvy, her arms are thin, while her thighs are slightly thick, with muscle, not fat. Her face is round and slightly childish, she's slowly losing her baby fat while her eyes are large.
Basic Clothing: Her daily outfit consists of a blue and white stripped shirt, spangled blue jeans, flared out at the legs and they cover her tan wedge sandals. Sometimes she alternates between outfits and wears plain white top and over it is a light blue jacket with long sleeves that cover her hands, a denim miniskirt with over-the-knee blue socks and blue and white sneakers.

Accessories: Simple black choker, along with the two black wristbands, she also has both her ears pierced.

Personality: Nina is polite, soft spoken and quiet, she keeps to herself mostly, and tries not to make herself known when amongst a crowd, she's the type of person to fade into the background, rather than be bright and loud and the life of the party, she has some self-esteem issues and has trouble expressing herself and her emotions, around those she doesn't know, having been socially awkward most her life. As a past time Nina likes to take pictures and attempts to draw.

History: Nina, grew up in Viridian City, an orphan since birth, Nina was taken in by a nice old couple who's child was off traveling the Pokémon world and hardly ever contacted them in years, they raised her as their own but while she was growing up, they came across a problem, up until she was 7, she never spoke to them or smiled, her eyes were lifeless and she was only nodding yes or no to questions, they became worried and thought the girl was a mute or emotionless. It wasn't until a few days after her seventh birthday, she had been wandering through Viridian Forest, taking pictures of the forest life with her camera and sketch book, which she never goes anywhere without, later that day, when she came back hope and her mother asked how her day went, Nina replied with a soft; "it was fine" her parent's rejoiced when the girl finally spoke and slowly she began to open up to the couple, answering their questions with soft responses and smiles.

As Nina grew older, she began to open up more to people, speaking softly but clearly. However, when she goes through one of her moods, she disappears for a while to get herself situated and more often than not Nina could be found in the Forest, in a secluded area, resting amongst the Pokémon and sketching or taking pictures of them, she has a sketchbook filled with her drawings and a scrap book for her photos, if it's one thing her parents figured out, is that when Nina is alone or around Pokémon, she opens up alot more, laughing, giggling and playing with the creatures. It was a tough decision, but they've decided to send Nina off on an adventure, allow her to see sights she's never seen before, experience new things and open up a bit more to the world, she was reluctant of the idea at first, but after a few persuasive argument from her folks, Nina's decided to start her journey, promising the two she'd write and call often and maybe make some friends and try to open up a bit more.

Misa tentatively stepped into the gym and glanced around Bell stood by her side, the poison flower glanced around curiously at the grass gym, she enjoyed the feel of the soil beneath her roots "Sprout?" her eyes lit up as she implanted her roots deeply within the nutritious soil "Sprout! Sprout!" Bell waved her leaves happily and smiled up at Misa, who looked down at the flower in confusion "Huh? Is something wrong Bell?" Bell responded by shaking her head no "Are you hurt or something?" another shake of her head "Then what's wrong?"

"Haha You don't know much about grass Pokemon do you?"

"What?"

Misa lifted her head to meet amused green eyes "Your Bellsprout likes the soil from my Gym, that's why she's so happy" Misa blinked "Ohh" she mumbled to herself "Well... I'm kinda new to this Pokemon thing, so I don't know much" Kent nodded and gave Misa a warm smile "I take it your here for a battle then?" pulling out Ash's Pokeball Misa nodded "Yeah..."

"Alright then." Kent walked to the other side of the grassy field and tossed a Pokeball to the ground "Bulbasaur lets go!" Kent's Pokeball snapped open and a small green quadrupedal animal popped out, with various green spots on its green skin, and it had a flower bud growing out of it's back Misa took out her Pokedex and scanned it.

"Ash start off with Take Down!" moments after Ash appeared from his Pokeball, he shot off and slammed his body into Bulbasaur, who skidded back a few feet, before he scowled at the abrupt attack "Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur barked in response and two vines protruded for the base of his bulb and slammed into Ash, whipping the Pinecone harshly "Pinneco!" he winced slightly from the whipping, but looked okay "Ash Take Down again!"

"Pinnnnecooo!"

Ash nodded and charged at Bulbasaur "Dodge it Bulbasaur and use Leech Seed!" Bulbasaur leapt out of the way of the charging Pineco and Misa watched as a seed began to sprout from Bulbasaur's bulb. It then shot out to Ash, who was then wrapped with miniature vines that were restraining it the vines then glowed and started to suck energy from him. "Cooo" he cried out as his health was slowly being sapped "Now Bulbasaur Use Vine Whip!" with a cry of "Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur brought out two vines from below the base of his bulb and began whipping Ash.

"Saur! Bubasaur!"

"Co.Co.Co" Ash winced after everytime the vines struck and it didn't help that his health was getting sapped as well, very troublesome indeed "Oh no Ash!" Misa bit her lip and watched the battle warily "I need to get rid of those vines, otherwise Ash won't stand a chance" Kent smiled to himself "She wasn't kidding about not knowing much about Pokemon... I'm pretty sure her Pineco know's Rapid Spin, she could've easily used that to get free from the Leech Seed" he shook his head "Oh well, its her loss. Now Bulbasaur use Leaf Storm!"

"Bulllbasauuur"

Bulbasaur's Bulb glowed green as a giant twister, full of leaves, shot towards Ash, engulfing the Pine Cone and trapping him and lifting him in the air, tossing Ash around like a rag doll as leaf blades cut at his skin. "Pineco!" he groaned and Misa grimaced, at a loss on what to do, wracking her brain for the other attack's Ash knew "Umm lets see... he knows Tackle, Protect, Self Destruct, Take Down and Rapid Spin"

"Rapid Spin!" she gasped out before yelling at Ash "That's it Ash! Use your Rapid Spin!"

"Pineco!" Ash nodded and quickly began to spin in place, causing the storm of leaves to disperse and the vines from Leech Seed also fell off his body after he landed on the ground "Heh So you figured it out finally huh?" Kent grinned at Misa, but she just blinked at him in confusion "What'd I figure out?" Kent laughed lightly "Hahaha Don't you know Rapid Spin can be used to dispel the effect's of binding moves, Like Bind, Wrap, Leech Seed, Spikes and a few others" Misa shook her head "No... I didn't know that"

"Well, now you do" he grinned widely and waggled a finger at her in a teasing manner "So use that information wisely, now you get no more freebies from me. Tackle Pineco Bulbasaur!" With a cry of "Saur!" Bulbasaur quickly ran at Ash and slammed his head into the idle Pineco, who was sent flying back across the field "Pineco. Pineco" Ash was beginning to look very tired, that Leech Seed had really drained a fair amount of energy out of him "Tackle again Bulbasaur!"

"Use your Tackle too"

Both Pokemon shot off like rockets and charged at one another, meeting in the middle of the battlefield, where they butted head's, they were both in some sort of stalemate, one trying to push the other back "Hmm that's not going to work... Alright Bulbasaur use Leaf Storm again" Bulbasaur nodded and bounced back, a few feet away from Ash before his Bulb glowed green and leaves shot out at the Pineco "Dodge with Rapid Spin Ash!" Ash nodded and began to spin, veering out of the way and then spinning towards Bulbasaur, intent on ramming the Seed Pokemon "Heh, that's not gonna work" Kent smirked and called out to Bulbasaur.

"Grab it with Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur nodded and grabbed the spinning Ash, lifting the Pineco above his head, rendering his attack useless. "Damn it!" Misa bit her lower lip, nibbling on the rings that were attached to it "Stupid Bulba....saur" Misa's eyes widened as she glanced at the Bulb on its back "I think I know how to beat Bulbasaur! Ash quickly, use Rapid Spin but I want you to umm land on your head okay!" Ash nodded and begun to spin at a rapid pace, Bulbasaur's hold had loosened and Ash was released, in the air, he twisted his body so he would land on his head and managed to fall into Bulbasaur's back, plugging up the hole in its bulb "I'm really sorry about this Ash, but I need you to use Selfdestruct!" Misa told him, somewhat regretfully.

Unfazed by this request, Ash seemed happy to comply "Pineco!" his body began to glow white and both Kent and Bulbasaur's eyes went wide "Crap! Bulbasaur quickly, get him out your bulb before it explodes!"

"Bulba! Bulbasaur!"

Bulbasaur's vine's quickly got to work on trying to tug Ash out of it's Bulb, but the Seed Pokemon was just a few seconds to late and with a loud "Coooooo" Ash exploded, covering the field in dust and smoke. Both Kent and Amisa waited for the smoke to clear before they glanced at the field and their Pokemon, both had fainted, swirls in their eyes, indicating they were no longer able to battle.

"Return Bulbasaur" Kent muttered recalling his fainted Pokemon and Misa did the same, he then tossed down another Pokeball onto the field and Bell stepped up "That was a pretty interesting way to use a Selfdestruct, but I didn't actually think you'd sacrifice your Pokemon. Pretty risky way to win a match, now Chikorita start off with Tackle!" Chikorita was a small green Pokémon. A pale leaf green color with large red eyes and large leaf on the top of its head. It also had a necklace of small green buds around its neck.

"Dodge with Wrap Bell!"

"Don't give it anytime to Dodge, grab it with Vine Whip!" Chikorita continued to charge at Bell, who had been planning on using her flexible stem body to snake out of the way, but Chikorita ruined those plans by gripping Bell with its vines "Now toss her high and follow up with Razor Leaf!" Chikorita quickly spun on her heels and sent Bell flying high near the roof of the gym "Chiiikooka!" with quick sucession, not missing a beat at all Chikorita fired several Razor sharp Leaves at the airborne Bell, who got hit with every one and was soon sent spiraling harshly to the ground with a loud thud.

"Bell!" Misa's eyes widened when she saw Bell crash harshly to the ground "Bell are you alright!?"

"Sproout"

Bell slowly stood, she took a shaky breath and glared at Chikorita, who gave a taunting smile "Chiiika" Misa growled "Bell use Sleep Powder!" Bell nodded and took in a big gulp of air, before she fired a bomb of white powder from her Bell shaped head at Chikorita, who stood her ground. Seconds before it hit, the dust exploded and covered Chikorita in it, who inhaled the dust and was instantly knocked out "Good Job Bell! Now use Vine Whip!" Misa failed to catch the sly smile on Kent's face as he watched Bellsprout whip away at Chikorita with its vines.

"Keep it up Bell, try mixing it up with Wrap too, we've gotta wrack in enough damage before Chikorita wakes up" Bell nodded and gave a tiny salute before wrapping one Vine around the snoozing Chikorita and squeezing it tightly, while the other Vine continued its onslaught of whipping.

"Bell. Sprout. Bell. Sprout. Bellsprout!"

Bell continued her squeezing and whipping, managing to rack up a hefty amount of damage, right before Chikorita woke up "Chiikookaa" Chikorita yawned and looked to be unfazed by the fact that it was trapped in Bell's vines "Now Bell give Chikorita a taste of her own medicine, Toss it with Vine Whip!" Kent smirked "I don't think so Quickly Chikorita use your Vine Whip and toss her!" Bell had veered back and managed to toss Chikorita, but not before Chikorita turned the tables and grabbed Bell with its own vines Chikorita flipped in the air and used the momentum of the flip to toss Bellsprout across the field, while Chikorita landed gracefully on the ground "Now while its down, use Synthesis!" Chikorita nodded and began to glow green, replenishing its health while Bell struggled to stand "Now Tackle and then Vine Whip!".

"Damn it" Misa cursed and watched as Bell panted lightly while she stood "Maybe I should've healed her after that battle with Butterfree" she thought frowning as she watched Chikorita tackled Bell back to the ground, then proceeded to lash out on Bell with its Vine Whip "Chi.Ko.Ka! Chi.Ko.Ka! Chi.Ko.Ka!" Chikorita emphasized every hit it made with every shout. Bell looked horrible, once Chikorita stopped pounding the poor flower, she had scratches running along her face and red marks began to form from the whipping.

"You should just give up, your Bellsprout looks ready to pass out kid. Its not good to push your Pokemon pass their limits, they'll dislike you for it"

Misa shook her head no and glared at Kent "No way, Bell's tougher than this and I'm not losing, not my first Gym Battle, no way!" she glanced at Bell, who sat herself up "Bell are you alright? I need you to hang in alittle longer ok" Bell gave a weak nod "Sprouuut" she slowly began to stand "I think I have an Idea Bell, so just stay with me okay" Bell gave another weak nod, she was putting her trust in her trainer "Now start off with Sleep Powder!"

"Ha, we won't try that again, Dodge Chikorita!" Chikorita nodded and leapt out of the way of the bomb of white powder after Bell had fired it off "Now Bell, grab Chikorita with Vine Whip, then use Wrap and make it extra tight!" Bell nodded and shot out her vines at Chikorita, making sure to bind the Leaf Pokemon tightly, so it would be unable to escape this time "Now Use Growth until I tell you to stop but keep a tight grip on Chikorita" Bell began to glow, her binds not loosening from around Chikorita, who struggled to break free "Fine, we don't need Chikorita's vines. Razor Leaf!" Chikorita winced from being squeeze but she still twisted her head around and brought her leaf far back.

"Quick Bell toss her! Then slam it with Vine Whip!"

"Belllsproouuuuut!!!"

With all the strength she could muster, Bell tossed Chikorita upward, causing her to fly straight into the gyms ceiling, hard enough to leave an imprint "C-Chika" Chikorita gasped out when it felt vines wrap tight around her torso and peel her out of the ceiling and slammed her harshly into the ground. A light cloud of dust swept up around Chikorita, who had slowly began to stand albeit shakily and panting from the attack, along with Bell who stood on the opposite side of the field "Oh no, I thought that last attack would do it" Misa cried out, glancing at Bell who looked ready to give up, the flower just wanted to rest and Misa didn't think Bell had anymore energy to pull off anymore attacks "No problem, Chikorita use Synthesis!"

Both Bell and Misa's eyes widened as Chikorita began to glow, if Synthesis finished, they really were done for "Quick Bell one more time Vine Whip!" Bell nodded and weakly lifted her leaves, allowing vines to shoot out and attack Chikorita, only for them to pause in mid air "Bell what's wrong!" Misa cried out, unsure of why she stopped the attack "Bellsprout." Bell pointed to Chikorita, who was in the middle of trying to restore its health with Synthesis, but her entire glowing body seemed to be flickering, like a light switch, until moment's later the flickering stopped and Chikorita fell to the ground with a tired moan "Chiikokaaa" her eyes turned into swirls and Chikorita fainted.

"I...I won" Misa whispered to herself, while Kent looked somewhat disbelieving "Well I'll be damned. She beat me." he whistled appreciatively before recalling his fainted Chikorita and glancing at Bell, who had fallen to her "knees" and was panting heavily "Bell. Sprout. Bellsprout" smiling softly Kent walked over to Misa, who had just recalled Bell "You did a wonderful job Bell, take a nice long rest" Upon reaching Amisa, he extended his hand, giving her's a light shake and dropping the badge in her hand "Congratulations, you've won. So I present you with The Maple Badge, which is proof that you've beaten me, that was a wonderful battle, Your that's one tough Bellsprout you've got there."

Misa nodded "Yeah, I honestly thought I was gonna lose after Chikorita began to use Synthesis again"

Kent chuckled "And you would have lost too, had she not been so exhausted, I think that slam to the roof really did it" Misa laughed "I think so too. Thank you Kent, now I need to get to the Center and heal Bell and Ash" Kent nodded and watched as she ran out the gym, heading straight to the Pokemon Center "Haha I can't believe it. My first Gym Badge" Misa clenched the badge in her hand tightly "Victory certainly is sweet."

Hair Color: His hair is the colour of autumn – all light brown and a bit vaguely glossy.

Hair Length: Fairly short.

Hair Style: Edwin's hair is cut flatly on top of his head, allowing for a liberal amount of growth. It's combed into a typical suit-wearing, formal musician-y style.

Eye Color: Cyan

Height: 5'5"

Weight: 107 lbs

Body Structure: Edwin can be described as slender, but not necessarily lanky.

Basic Clothing: Edwin usually wears black cargo pants, its pockets containing an assortment of potentially marginally useful things; gumballs, paper clips, scraps of paper, rosin, chalk, and other such esoteric things that no normal person would have in his or her pocket all the time. On top of this, Edwin wears a white cotton shirt with a collar, the concert standard and the only kind of shirt Edwin has in multitudes in his wardrobe. Edwin usually wears odd socks on both feet, and only rarely does he remember to wear a pair. For the purposes of this RP, the right sock will be black, and the left will be grey. Outside his socks is a pair of running shoes, once again black. Adding to this ensemble is a canvas yellow trenchcoat embroidered with black treble and bass clefs, fashioned out of some artificial polymer and waterproof.

Pajamas: Edwin wears black-and-white checkered pajamas, fashioned of 80% cotton and 20% polyester.

Bathing Suit: Umm... Edwin wears a plain pair of black trunks, 100% polyester.

Accessories: A silver violin is all that Edwin wears, as a pendant around his neck. It's a relic from his mother.

Personality: Edwin is not a practical person; often nervous, somewhat timid, and a thorough daydreamer, he is forgetful with important matters but remembers to bring unnecessary things. Such as forgetting to bring a torch but bringing his stainless steel violin case instead. However, Edwin is an optimist at the worst of times, usually shrugging off unfortunate events with ease and dealing with it to the best of his ability.

Unfortunately, Edwin does not possess the attribute of leadership. His nervousness shows through precisely at this moment, and he is more of a follower than a leader. When he contributes an idea and it immediately gets refuted, he is too nervous to restate the idea, much less defend it.

Edwin falls into a daydream he cannot pull out of when he begins to play music; to him, music is the only thing worth living for. Not the bad kinds of music, of course… Edwin has many opinions about modern music, some of which one would not want to know about. No, Edwin's appreciation stems from classical music, and will not stop until he finishes. Adding to the problem is Edwin's considerable musical skill; his ability to actually pull others into his expressive music attracts all sorts of Pokemon.

After embarking on his journey, Edwin has already had a slight change of attitude. No longer so timid from the forced conversations that were strained at first, he's more at ease conducting himself around other people, and stays on task more often. Edwin has also developed a stronger sense of loyalty and gratitude, and is attempting to conduct himself more like a gentleman as befitting his future as a violinist.

Now, a few days into his journey, Edwin's mind is gradually turning itself into a well-polished intellect of steel. His resolve was strengthened by his meeting with the Rocket members and the two fellow Pokemon trainers (albeit female).

History: Edwin was born in Viridian City. Edwin first came into contact with music during an encounter with his mother in their garden, who played music so beautifully that a flock of Pidgey were entranced. As a result, he became enthralled with music and started pursuing the study of the violin, becoming immersed in its practice. He plans to become a musician when he grows up.

Edwin's mother died when he was eight. His father's personality radically changed, and was much harsher to Edwin than when his mother was still alive. His father, being a parent, wanted Edwin to excel as quickly as possible, and Edwin's personality undertook some not-very-drastic-but-still-noticeable changes, such as heightened nervousness and detachedness from the real world.

Edwin began on his journey because he wanted to improve his musical skills and travel the world, as his mother wished for him to do so. His father approves, but in reality doesn't care much. Or so Edwin thinks; his father does care for him, though.

Other: Edwin carries a bag, but it contains only some sheet music, a couple of Pokeballs, some food, and a box of matches. He travels lightly, and with his violin case handy, he can always attempt to busk on the street.
(Ah, anyway, possibly impossible things aside)
Edwin is surprisingly weak, and does not respond well to physical overexertion. That's about it.

RPG Sample: What? What RPG? Where?

The afternoon sun lazily streaked through the silver, star-patterned blinds in Edwin's room, providing a broken array of illumination, the light flowing onto his music stand. Notes could be heard, repeated over and over again, the few bars extracted from Debussy's Clair de Lune. A Pokemon, a Chimecho, was floating nearby, watching, and sometimes correcting notes as the auburn-haired young man beside it – her, one should say – serenely fingered the astoundingly high notes in the six-note groups.

Something beeped, the beep lost in the strains of music that the young man was playing. Regardless, the glow from the black, wafer-thin cell phone could not be missed as it flashed green repeatedly.

Edwin sighed, and, sitting down, put his violin down beside him on his bed, snapping out of a reverie. "Needs some more work?" He asked his Chimecho before reaching to his table for the object in question. "Sorana?" The Chimecho nodded slightly, and reproduced a semi-similar version of the melody that Edwin was practicing a moment ago. Edwin sighed again, and flipped open his cell phone, pressing the button corresponding to his inbox.

Confused, Edwin tried to decipher the message with little success, finally resorting to an online messagespeak dictionary.

"The Full Moon Fade Away?" Edwin mused, his mind still on the moon. "That might help me play my piece much better. After all… these fadeaway incidents are interesting in its own right, which will actually help me start my summer homework." Sinking back into his bed again for a moment, he thought about the possibilities. "Very well. Let's see what happens. After all, I'll have my music, Sorana, and Tino."

At the mention of its name, the small Bellossom waved to him lazily from his favourite pot, rooted in the dirt and relaxing. Tino was still a young Pokemon, even if he was in the final stage of his evolution, and acted like one. A bright smile on his face momentarily, Edwin disappeared back into the swirling vortex of the music, his practice resumed. Long notes, minor to a high degree, resonated on his violin and swept forth with a calculated slowness.

Silently sneaking past his father, already asleep and in bed, Edwin slowly crept out of his house, carrying only his violin, which was obviously necessary, and a backpack for his sheet music and some light provisions – namely sheet music, sheet music, and more sheet music, as well as some easily accessible snack food, spare Pokeballs (surprisingly), and a box of primitive sulfur matches.

The air outside was crisp and cool as Edwin slowly paced towards the entrance to the forest with anticipation and nervousness. Cringing at the sight of a group of people already there, Edwin locked up in communications and only managed to push out a timid smile, friendly enough but not very confident. He did a small wave and went closer to the group, this time managing to squeeze out a small greeting as well.

"H-hi."

With that, he shivered, but whether he was cold or nervous was not shown.

Gender: Male

Hair Color: Tai's hair is a dirty blonde. It's a nicely shaded dark gold, but slightly gets lighter towards the top of his head.

Hair Length: Tai's bangs separate into long strands in between his eyes, then the other strand breaks off into two that go down towards his nose while the top slightly covers his eyebrow and then breaks off down towards his ear, his ears being completely visible. The back of his hair goes about half way down his neck.

Hair Style: His hair style is very peculiar and wild. His hair seems normal until the sides of his hair flare up and let his bangs fall gently down. The back of his hair is normal and just falls down peacefully.

Eye Color: His eyes are a deep, rich shade of red and even through the black of night they are still able to sparkle with a faint light.

Height: Around the average height for a thirteen year old, 4' 10"

Weight: Tai weighs a healthy 105 lbs.

Body Structure: Tai has a well-established body, from his strong shoulders to his nicely-toned legs. As someone who does a lot of walking, a bit of running, and plays the game of Football, he has a well-conditioned body. His appearance is normal for a thirteen year old; not scrawny, not buff, but rather a mix between the both.

Basic Clothing: Tai wears an outfit that compliments his personality, upbeat and bright. A bright crimson hat with a blue pokeball insignia on each side of his head with a white trimming that leads to the white visor. He wears his signature red jacket which is trimmed at the bottom with a white stripe and zipper line which is left unzipped about just above his chest which leads to a white collar and it has black sleeves. He wears two black wristbands on each wrist which match his pair of nice jeans that seem to sag just a bit. The jeans are a nice black infused with a few shades of blue. His shoes, a bright red that seem to never get dirty despite of all the walking and running Tai does, complete his outfit.

Pajamas: He wears no shirt when he goes to sleep, leaving his nice torso exposed, but wears a pair of white shorts that reach just below his knees.

Bathing Suit: Tai loves to swim and wears no shirt but a pair of dark orange beach shorts that reach just below his knees with white lines running down the side of his legs ending with half of a pokeball marking.

Accessories: Tai carries around a nice white traveling bag with silver straps where he carries all of his necessities. He has a habit of putting, or writing stuff on his bag to make memories of where he has been.

Personality: Pretty Retro style, careless nature. Tai's personality varies, but his main thought in his mind though is exploring. Tai is very friendly and kind to any person who comes his way.

Tai lacks patience, and prefers constant action to new and exciting situations. He may even look for trouble for the sake of entertainment. He is a very upbeat and hyperactive person, annoying to some, even. He loves to take charge of situations and become the leader. He loves to just goof around with friends and be the life of the party. He hates people who take life for granted and just sit around, quietly watching life pass by. People who are rude and sarcastic about everything also bother him. He also hates people who over think things, he believes you should just "go with the flow" and do what your heart tells you.

Tai is by no means easily intimidated, and doesn't have an exceptionally short temper. Of course, when someone he cares about is harmed, he does get very angry at the one who did it to them and will fight to the death to prevent it from happening again.

As you might assume from the above statement, Tai also has a strong sense of justice. However, he firmly believes that right and wrong are just concepts, and that it's what you do and what you believe in that matters in the end. He personally thinks that the lives of others take priority over his own, though he's by no means incredibly selfless. However, he will gladly risk his life so that someone else can keep theirs without so much as a second's hesitation.

History: Tai was born in the nice and calm Pallet Town. He was raised by his loving mother and father. His family would move from time to time to allow Tai's father to still do his duty as a Gym Leader, but still be home with his family. But finally, when Tai was 6. His father became gravely ill, there was nothing they could do. He was horribly sick until the end of his days. To this day he believes it was his fault that his father died and has promised himself to be strong. He hasn't cried since his father died, because he promised his father to be strong and take care of his mom.

His mother is a top co-ordinator and uses her past winnings to support Tai. He feels horrible that his mother must spend that money to take care of him. He usually spent his days out with friends and developed a very social and hyperactive personality. He also takes care of his dad's old gym pokemon. The pokemon were given to the new gym leader, but Tai still likes to go visit them. He's watched every gym battle that gym has ever had and now loves Battling.

By the time he turned Thirteen, Tai had already graduated Pokemon Academy with a top score on his final exam. Which allowed him entry into the Pokemon League Challenge. His father's old gym was sold to a mysterious man who never seems to open the gym. So he packed his things and ran over to Prof. Oak's Laboratory.

A Pidgeot with a will of steel and a tongue as sharp as glass, Gee is a very sarcastic bird, very prideful and full of himself. Beneath the layers of meaness, however, lie a yearning feeling to be accepted by his fellows, and does enjoy the companionship he shares with the other members of the team and Tai himself.

A very hyperactive Pikachu with a talent for battling. He and Charco often compete to see who is stronger but make a fantastic team. Pika has to know what everyone is doing, he also likes to play small jokes on others.

A newly born Gyarados, Gyara joins Tai's team as a newly born Magikarp. She was then lent to Misty to hold on to, Gyara spent most of her days inside of Misty's gym. Never leaving the inside pool. Finally picked up by Tai she is very curious. She is extremely curious about this new life, cars, light posts, doughnuts, anything she hasn't seen before. She has an accepting, aloof attitude and is level headed and humorous. She enjoys freedom most, and is very claustraphobic, though she likes his pokeball.

Sassy nature.

Ability: Chlorophyll
Attacks: Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm, Sludge Bomb, Sleep Powder
A sarcastic, sadist Victreebel with an Osakan accent similar to that of a city dweller, Velsi is quick to reprimand idiots and people and pokemon she just plain doesn't like. Tough and to the point, Velsi has a smirk as wide as the sun, and an ego just as big.

Attacks: Zen Headbutt, Giga Impact, Psychic, Strength
A dense, nutt-o Snorlax with a mind slower than a slug, Munchy has a tendency to assume crazy things and hide behind chairs and desks because of it. He also likes to start random conversations, and is known to state the absolute obvious on most occasions. He has the brain about the size of a pea but a heart as big as the ocean.

Other: Tai loves food, because of this he almost always has the munchies. He is also a very skilled and knowledgeable battler.

Alright, awesome! I posted the OOC thread, but I'm still waiting for our mod to approve it.

Just know that the pokedexs we will be receiving will each come with a personalty, the same personality and a different voice. You can also pick whatever color you want your Pokedex to be, and your character will travel alone until Viridian City where we all meet up.

So anyways, let's get this show on the road!

Episode One: Adventure Begin! I Choose You!​

In a battlefield at the Indigo Stadium of Kanto, the goal of many Pokemon trainers, two specific trainers were opposing each other. The Trainer on the red side of the field had sent out a purple demon with a nasty smile; a Gengar. The opposite green side had chosen a Nidorino, a purple Pokemon with a large horn and spikes on his back. The chosen Nidorino reared up, sending poison spikes from his back, which were launched at Gengar. The Gengar's trainer's eyes narrowed, and he ordered his Gengar to dodge. The Gengar started to move out of the way-

"Tai! Tai honey, get up! You'll be late!" Tai's mom's voice flitted through the air upstairs to where a massive pile was sleeping, buried under a mountain of comics and blankets, the pillow over its would-be head.

"Mhnmmmm………" The pile groaned, then bolted upright, the blankets and cd's falling off it like water off a cliff. Once the pile had fallen off, it revealed a young boy of about thirteen with radiant blonde hair and deep red eyes, dressed in a pair of silver shorts and no shirt.

This was Tai Sugimori, the ever-so-popular hyperactive football player of Pallet Town's Pokemon School, and a soon to be pokemon trainer.

In about five minutes…

"Crap!" The boy swore under his breath, jumping out of bed. He hurriedly changed into a plain white shirt and his signature red jacket, trimmed with a white stripe at the bottom end, white collar, and black sleeves with a pair of nice black jeans, but they weren't solid black. They were mixed with a few shades of dark blue. He wore a pair of red slip-on sneakers with white bottoms. He ran towards the door and took the two black wristbands on the handle and put them on. The boy then hurtled down the stairs, two at a time.

Tai's mother was a pretty woman of about 30. With a pink apron, happy smile, and her Ivysaur house-helper at her side, there wasn't a single chore Mom couldn't do. Tai gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and grabbed a piece of toast that lay in a heap on the table.

"Morning sweetie. How'd you sleep?" Mom asked.

"Horribly. I was too excited to sleep." Tai mumbled truthfully through a mouthful of toast and sweatdropped.

"Oh, so that's why you woke up late." Mom giggled as she gave a bowl of milk to Ivysaur.

"Saur, Ivy, ivy……" The green pokemon smiled and slurped the milk happily.

"Yeah…….." Tai mumbled and gulped his orange juice. "Man, I better get going. Places to go, people to see."

Mom giggled again. "You've grown so much. I'm proud of you. Now here's you're traveling bag, I stocked it with everything you'll need. Toothbrush, compass, some pokeballs I picked up, sleeping bag, extra boxers…….."

"Mom………" Tai flushed and grabbed his white bag from the table.

Mom laughed and placed her son's red, official Pokemon cap on Tai's head. "Don't forget to call me when you get to Viridian City."

"I won't." Tai hugged his mom tightly and then smiled. "See ya later!!" He smiled and then patted Ivysaur on the head as he raced out the door.

The late morning sun hung in the sky like a lazy, oversized glowing bug. It was too bright. It was too early.

IT WAS TOO DAMN COLD! Tai cursed mentally. This was tiresome. Professor Oak's lab was too far away for its own good. Just when he was beginning to think violent thoughts that involved the dear professor's death, the tallest spire of his quaint farm/lab appeared on the horizon. The boy charged up the hill, and burst through the door……..

"PROFESSOR! GOOD MORNING!" He shouted, barging in and walking up to the professor, who was standing behind a counter, looking at a large book.

Graying hair, tanned skin and a nice white lab coat completed Oak's look. He had the air of a jolly old man who had experienced much in his life, too much perhaps. He looked up at Tai, smiling.

"There you are! Glad you came."

"Whew! Thanks…I thought I was late."

"Oh you are, hideously," Prof. Oak stated bluntly, "It's just that the other trainers haven't arrived yet either."

"Alright! So can I choose?" Tai asked the professor, eager and waiting for a favorable answer.

"Of course. Pick while I go get your pokedex." Oak walked off to the back of the room and Tai looked down at the labels.

Bulbasaur.

Charmander.

Squirtle.

He knew that Charmander was going to be his pick, from the beginning. He loved its evolution line, and its later ability to learn Dragon Type Moves as well as Fire. Good combo.

"This one!" The boy smiled, picking up the pokeball and releasing the small orange pokemon from its chamber.

The Charmander looked up at him with large blue eyes, then lowered its head and muttered, "Charman Charrrrrrr…."

"It's awesome!" Tai picked it up allowing it to climb to his head, the Charmander chuckling slightly.

The professor came back then, the small red pokedex in his hand. "Ah! Good choice. Charmander is a very reliable pokemon. I think you'll do well together. Now I assume you know what responsibility comes with this Pokedex." Oak asked Tai who was currently observing his new Charmander, "Once you encounter or capture a pokemon you receive data on it, but that isn't enough. Once you actually capture a pokemon you can keep it in your team, but if you don't want to send it back to me for research. You got all that?" Tai nodded.

"Yes Professor, thanks. So, I guess I'll be seeing you-"

"Wait, Tai. Before you leave, make sure to keep your eye out for two more trainers. You might see them at Viridian city, one is a boy with bright eyes and brown hair. The other is a girl with red hair and the most peculiar eye color. Or colors I should say, well anyways, just make sure to meet them then talk to me over the Video Phone." Tai nodded and walked out of the lab.

He looked at his new Charmander in its pokeball and pokedex, he was a Pokemon Trainer!
