    So I'm wondering which one you prefer. The Pokegear in HG/SS, and R/S/E or the Poketech from Platinum etc.

    Personally I prefer the Poketech, as you can have it open as you are walking so when you're looking for the legendaries you don't have to open and close it all the time, like you do with the Pokegear.

    This could be in both HGSS or D/P/Pt... so I'll just move it to a safe middle and have it in General Pokemon Gaming. =P Seeing it's not restricted to just HGSS. (And besides there's the 3rd gen one as well from R/S/E...).
     
    Pokegear - It had a map and phone. :D
    Poketch - It had everything very essential in life. xD

    For me, Poketch wins.
     
    Poketch, despite its odd name that I can never pronounce correctly, has much more useful apps than the Pokegear. And the Poketch does not allow for phone calls about a certain "top percentage Rattata" which is probably its biggest benefit.

    And I prefer to have Poketch on the touchscreen rather than the menu on it.
     
    I would like to see a hybrid of the two, or maybe an ability to choose which one to use...
     
    The pokegear kinda turned me away from HGSS a bit, I favor the Poketech a lot more than the gear. The poketech shows you how your pokemon is doing at the day care. And that comes in handy pretty well
     
    Yeah I think it would be great if you could have the Pokegear combined with the Poketech, so you could get the radio and phone book on the Poketech in colour on the bottom screen as you move around. It would also be great if you could have all the little programmes from the Poketech on it.

    In my opinion, that would be great.
     
    I prefer the poketech.
    It is easier to breed because you know when you have an egg.
    It is easier to count the EV when you EV train.
     
    The only true answer is the Pokenav. :D

    ...but between these two the pokegear far outclasses the poketch because it's actually more useful imo. Half of the apps for the poketch I never even used.
     
    Pokétch, for sure. I was actually very disappointed that they didn't upgrade the Pokégear to be the same thing but, you know, better. Pokétch was so much more convenient on a number of levels. Sure, not all of the apps were useful but the ones that WERE useful were infinitely so. I often found myself missing the happiness app, the daycare app, or hell, even the map app so that I wouldn't have to go to the extra trouble of opening the Gear just to see if Raikou is close. :/

    Like, if they could've done something where you choose which apps to set on your phone/gear for quick access, it'd be so perfectly. :( But alas...
     
    Poketech every time although the both pretty useful
     
    Definitely the Pokétch, especially the one in Platinum. Having to go through all of the apps again on Pearl got really tiring.
    The only thing I wish it had was the same kind of map as the one in HGSS that actually showed which roaming legendary was which. I hated looking for Mesprit and getting Zapdos/Moltres over and over.
     
    PokeGear. I mean, daycare man calls with eggs....and the map is more useful as you know which legend is where.

    Also, it's more like the PokeNav, which was in my first game, Emerald, so therefore gives me some nostalgia.
     
    RSE has a PokeNav ! :P

    PokeNav - Map and Ribbons + Trainer's Eyes for their rematches. Useful.
    PokeGear - Funny little map, themes, markers, radio ... only bad part : Ratattazz ! >_<
    Poketch - weird name, many, many apps.

    I'll go with the PokeGear. It is way too entertaining to watch the map and change themes ! :D
     
    The pokegear is cooler.
    The poketch is more useful

    I also liked the pokenav, hope it gets a step-up in the remake.
     
    the gear because there is a phone, and radio!!!, And that would make a Pokemon journey so much less boring and not lonely, because you would be able to use ur ears :P and the tech is a bunch of crappy apple apps lol
