Hi, I'm Aaisu! Formerly known as JSwizzle86 - and I'm working on Pokeemerald romhacks based in Australia (or Belgenia) called Pokémon Peridot & Pokémon Amethyst Versions!
I originally had a working build for it - but somehow I crashed the rom beyond repair (in a constant debug mode state) and had to start from scratch, so my apologies for not having many maps to show you all right now.
For some backstory, I first started drafting these romhacks back in 2016 - long before decomp tools were more widely known (and thank god I've abandoned binary by that point, it was so hard to use - and HMA didn't exist yet, so I feel even more awful for using such outdated, hard to use tools. But at least I'm making up for it now... - not knocking on people who use binary; I just didn't enjoy it!) and at the time, only Amethyst existed as a title. But I decided a bit later on in 2017, that I wanted to pair another gemstone with it. So here we are.

Peridot and Amethyst take place in the land of Belgenia, which is vast and mostly unsettled, so you'll be seeing a lot of recently developed or developing towns as you play through the game! There may even be some story choices you make that will help develop the region's landmarks even further.
For context, the games take place 5 years after a brutal war that tore the region apart and divided it into three factions: the Northern Faction, the Eastern Faction, and the Western Faction. People and Pokemon have slowly been rebuilding the region from all of the pain and suffering that took place, so you might meet some NPCs who may not entirely trust you at first - but over time, you will gain their trust.
(This map is a wip but the layout is final.)

(Obvious boy or girl choice - but girl character's design is still a wip, so bear with my team a little longer).

Your rival is a feisty girl named Emma, and she loves fashion as much as she does battling. However, she has a dark past that you'll uncover as you progress more into the story.
You will get to meet two professors in this game, Professor Banksia (who gives you your starter choice) and Professor Wattle, your second rival of the game. Professor Banksia is a more quiet, soft spoken man - while Professor Wattle is more outgoing and will challenge you to battles at any opportunity he can. He enjoys seeing young trainers grow into powerful Champions, and he's not a sore loser either (though he used to be!)
Professor Banksia will give you the option to choose between Leaflad the Sky Climber Pokémon, Flarrik the Ink Kindle Pokémon, or Aquidle the Hard Shell Pokémon (we will not reveal their final evolutions until after launch, to keep it a surprise for players).

[PokeCommunity.com] Pokémon Peram (Peridot & Amethyst)

You will get to see a lot of Australian landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House, a natural preserve and other such places (our dev team has two Australians on it to make sure that they guide me in the right direction with making the region itself).

You'll get to meet Nocturnix or Celestrix, the respective box legendaries, before even starting your journey at the lab (we won't reveal anything further on that event before release).
They are Dark Dragon and Psychic Dragon respectively (do not concern yourself over new types like Space or Sound being added - it'd be too much work to redo the whole typechart).
[PokeCommunity.com] Pokémon Peram (Peridot & Amethyst)
You'll also get to meet other new Pokémon too - like Koison and Drakrodon, the Magikarp line equivalent for this region - as well as Guzzlin, the regional bird.

[PokeCommunity.com] Pokémon Peram (Peridot & Amethyst)
There will also be regional forms and evolutions for Pokémon first discovered in Unova, like the Belgenian Krookodile line!
[PokeCommunity.com] Pokémon Peram (Peridot & Amethyst)
Also, you'll get to meet a lot more new characters (and also some returning ones).

There's a lot more info, but we can't really share it right now because A) the game is still a work in progress and B) spoiling everything would just ruin the hype and experience for people.
When you comment, please keep in mind that a lot of stuff is subject to change - so there's no reason to get upset over the look of certain stuff, or over certain features, thank you.
We also will be keeping most of the PokeDex before launch quiet, to - once again - keep stuff a surprise for most players.
Here is our discord server. (please verify you are not a bot when joining, so I can give you the confirmed role)
Here is the Twitter page for any further updates.

You can find our project over on Reddit as well.

Some other features to be added include:
    Faster battles/gameplay
    BW2 Repel System

Some postlaunch features we have in mind:
    Hard Mode
(not sure what else yet, depends on player feedback for demos.)
Another postlaunch update we will make is including an EV/IV facility for people who want to specifically EV train and/or perfect their Pokémon. It will also allow IV changing/resetting through a minigame and EV changing/resetting with EV candies (not going to include this right away because it has been pretty difficult to code, and I would rather not ship a rushed game).

Any further questions may be asked in the comment section below - and please do not ask us for a .gba file. We'd rather stay out of trouble, than in it.

(PS we are not going to implement anti-speedup, it's boring, a waste of time, and dumb to code.)

FYI; do not steal our images/concept art/etc and claim it as your own; I'd much prefer for people to show some respect to my dev team, thank you.

your presentation really good so yeah I'm sold, stay healthy and stay safe hope the development stay strong 👍🙂.

Suggestion maybe don't include gigantamax and dynamax because it only looks good in 3D. Maybe only that but it's only suggestions so you don't need to worry or follow it if you don't want

The starters look epic. How will be able to tell the difference from Pokémon Peridot exclusives from Pokémon amethyst exclusives.

We will post a chart later on with the version exclusive Pokémon (Peridot ones will have a green background, Amethyst will have a purple background).

Appreciate it, and yeah I don't really care for the 3D game gimmicks tbh
