    [PokeCommunity.com] Pokémon Enduring Emerald [Complete]

This is a hack that replaces Hoenn Pokémon in the wild and in trainer battles with most of the Pokémon from Kanto as well as some from Johto. In total, the regional dex now has 175 Pokémon, all of which outside of the starters should be catchable. The starter you choose will be Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle, and instead of using that starter to save Professor Birch from a Zigzagoon, you'll be using it to save him from a Nidoran. That isn't where the changes stop, however:

    • Available Poke Mart items now depend only on your badge count (meaning you can buy Poke Balls without fulfilling any story requirements)
    • Since there are early Pokémon that can poison you, poison no longer affects you in the overworld
    • The weather institute event has been modified to give you a Porygon2 instead of a Castform
    • You can run indoors
    • Any Pokémon can use a field move as long as the HM for it is in your bag
    • Exp. Share is now a key item that awards XP to all Pokémon in your party and can be toggled on or off
    • Your Pokémon get XP per catch
    • And more!

This hack is meant to combine elements of Emerald's past with elements of its future to create a new experience that still feels familiar to fans of the Gen 3 games. I used pret's pokeemerald decomp as a base, and I've tested the game with my additions thoroughly in multiple emulators to confirm there aren't any major bugs.

Note: This isn't meant to be a difficulty hack, but the bosses will be a little tougher to account for how much easier XP is to get now, with the first four gyms having Pokémon that are one level higher than before and the last four gyms, the Elite Four, and the champion having Pokémon that are two levels higher than before. Even with the buffs, you shouldn't encounter any Pokémon above level 60 before the postgame.

Note: the champion was overleveled in the original version of the file, but I've just patched the patch (that's a thing, right?) and it should work with current saves.

The game has now been updated to add Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle to the wild encounters, meaning if you're interested in completing the Pokédex, you will now be able to.
Could you share what routes they can be found in? I believe I updated my ROM but the Pokedex says area not found. Perhaps I need to make a new save file.

Also is it possible to evolve Kadabra ECT. ?

    Thanks!

Bulbasaur can be found on Routes 113 and 114, Squirtle can be found by fishing off routes 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 118, 124, and room B1F on the abandoned ship, and Charmander can be found on floors 2F, 3F, and 4F of the Team Magma hideout.

Kadabra can't be evolved normally but you can find Alakazam on the Mt. Pyre summit.

The update should work with any saves you already have but I'll continue testing and I'll try to work on an encounter table as well.

Thanks for the information! I did not properly patch the game earlier, but now it is showing where Squirtle, ect. Can be found! Great.

Also, is Scizor obtainable? I have a Scyther but wonder if Scizor as well can be found elsewhere.

Sorry for all the questions, I am enjoying the game though!

Why did you put Snorlax so early? lol
I mean I kinda get the logic behind placing it there but... it's a bit too early for such a great mon, specially considering its original counterpart

Also I found a trainer on beach before Slateport that has a Pidgey with the moves Headbutt and Surf

Edit 2: I can't get the Coin Case since it requires buying an Harbor Mail in Slateport... but the mart isn't selling it

Snorlax made the most sense as this game's version of Slakoth. I agree that he appears quite early compared to in the Kanto games but I couldn't think of any better alternatives for that particular change.

The issues you brought up with Pidgey's moves and the harbor mail not being sold in Slateport have been fixed, though. Thank you for the feedback!

I noticed some other Pokémon having weird moves too. Like Wattson's Elekid and Electabuzz knowing Howl

Edit: that's actually because some Pokémon still have their original counterpart's movesets... like the aforementioned Pidgey, Wattson's team and I also noticed one of Flannery's Pokémon knowing Magnitude (I think it was her Vulpix)

Is Espeon in the game? No matter when I evolve Eevee, I get Umbreon.

Here's a Google Sheet with all of the Pokémon on the regional dex and where you can find them:

This has been edited into the first post.

I've also updated the encounters in the patch to make Pokémon that were previously trade exclusive or very difficult to obtain for some other reason available in the wild. I'm going to start focusing more on a different hack I'm working on based on RHH's pokeemerald-expansion, but if you find any bugs that I haven't addressed yet, please let me know, and I'll get to them as soon as possible.
