    [PokeCommunity.com] Pokémon Dustbowl (v0.3.2)

    Introduction:
This fangame is designed around the sandstorm weather and is located mainly in a large desert with many sub areas.
There are a lot of changes to all the Pokémon, many moves, and some abilities in this fangame.
I manually rewrote all the movesets for this fangame's roster.
Open "Improvements to the Pokémon" spoiler for more info.

This fangame isn't compressed. Players can modify their copy of this fangame to make your own fun with what I've made so far using RPG Maker XP.
This will also be the case in later versions. I left a lot of comments throughout the events and scripts.

I haven't created any graphics for this fangame yet. I want to make sure this fangame works and is fun before delving into making things look nice.
This fangame contains very brief references to other fangames and games that aren't Pokémon officially or fanmade.

This is my first created Pokémon fangame.
I've been playing these fangames for about a couple years, but in March '24 I decided to start making my own.
My main goal of creating this fangame is to create my own favorite fangame.
Highlights of features in this fangame:
    • The total roster planned for this fangame is 154 species including evolutions.
    • A gigantic amount of balance changes to all the Pokémon in all aspects.
    • Atypical starter trio, based on battle niche instead of type triangle.
    • All trainer battles are in doubles format.
    • Radial game world layout. You don't have to remember which town each NPC service is located, they'll all be in one place as you unlock them.
    • Access to healing your party for free in the middle of every route.
    • More specific details on changes are accessible in-game. You don't need to open a wiki for this fangame.
    • Unobstructive grass. You don't have to trudge through grass encounters to progress through areas.
    • There are always repeatable trainer battles available for money and experience. They're not always caught up with the player's level.
    • Animated battle sprites and dynamic camera. These are from plugins that came with the Pokémon Essentials package I started this with.
There's a lot more changes listed lower in the spoilers below and some that I haven't thought to add there.
A lot of planning went into designing this fangame to make everything useful.

    Version 0.2.0 is now available!

    Download link here:

Changelog for v0.2.0 will be cut from the original post and moved to this post.
I reformatted things a bit, but there's a text guide packaged with the game on how to move your old save from v0.1.0 into the new folder.
The new folder won't need to be migrated to the later updates since I removed the version number out of the game's title.

You don't have to start over with a new save file, but I recommend it.
This update added a lot of bug fixes, quality improvements, graphics, balance changes, and some pieces of things that'll be used in later updates.
This update did not add more playable content in terms of new areas, higher level cap, or more accessible kinds of Pokémon.
The next update will focus on adding those things.

    Spoiler: v0.2.0 changelog

I'll wait a bit for feedback and bug reports while taking a break from working on this game, then get deep into working on the next update.

Loving the game, just wanted to ask so I can stop resetting, Shoulder can only be male right?

    Finally, v0.3.1 is ready!
v0.3.0 has some small problems, so anyone that downloaded v0.3.0 should delete it and use v0.3.1 instead.

    Changelog located here:

You don't have to start over with a new save file. There's only one significant change for the early game, but it's something you can get very soon after the v0.2.0 endgame.
Thank you for playing my game!
