    Overview :

    Searching for a romhack of Platinum that adds plenty of QOL improvements, adds replayability and post-game content but doesn't change too much from vanilla Platinum ? Look no further, Platinum Unlocked has everything you are looking for!
    My goal was to keep everything you catch legit in gen 4 and onwards while making Platinum even more enjoyable.

    Features :

    - Pocket PC! This new item wich replaces the VS Seeker is given to you at the start of your adventure. Use it to access the Pokémon storage, buy items online, heal, teleport, access move tutors and a few other things! Note that this item can only be used on routes and citys, it won't work inside buildings, caves and special areas

    - Catch all the GBA insertions, swarms, daily Great Marsh and Trophy Garden encounters without any waiting time. You will encounter them at their normal Platinum locations, making them legal and transferrable (see bugs for Great Marsh ones and Feebas)

    - New visuals in menus and in battle!
    Also added some secret boxes from Diamand/Pearl, replacing the "ECETERA" ones

    - Drifloon availible every day after the Valley Windworks event (still have to wait one day to make it appear)

    - Spiritomb availible after inserting the Odd Stone

    - Fishing with good rod will get you some Pokemon you only get with great rod in the postgame (Staryu, Qwillfish, Dratini, Corpish, Wailmer..) at their normal Platinum fishing spots. You can also get Feebas in Mt Coronet as a normal fishing encounter

    - Pokemons will have thei colors vary depending on their personal values (this apply to shinys and other trainers)

    - You get the National Pokedex from the start, updated with new locations data. After the league you can directly access the postgame without needing to fill the Sinnoh Pokedex

    - Catch every static encounters + roaming ledendarys multiple times within one savefile. All you need to do is : finish the events of Stark Mountain, defeat Cyrus in Turnback Cave and voilà, they all reapear!
    This can be done infinitly as long as you defeat the league, then defeat Cyrus

    Bugs :

    - Pkhex will flag the new Pokemon encounters in the Great Marsh as not legal, PKSM on 3DS doesn't. It might be checking things that even Pokebank or Home will not check. If you truly want to be safe on transfer make eggs of these Pokemon before transferring
    - The Feebas you catch in Mt Coronet will often be marked as not legal in Pkhex but not on PKSM. Having them be level 17 make it happen less but again make eggs if you want to feel safe before a transfer
    - Feebas evolving at lvl 30 was done only for those who don't care about legality, but if you want a legit Milotic make your Feebas evolves the normal way with high beauty stat
    - Graphics glitch during the starter selection screen
    - Stray pixels at the begining of every battles (noticeable for 2 seconds)
    - Cyrus and Lucas/Dawn don't have dialogues during battle
    - The individual color patch may not affect contests or the move transform

    FAQ :

    Is the game faster ?
    - It has faster HP bars. A speed up patch will be availible at a later date

    Will it work with Following Platinum ?
    - No as Platinum Unlocked use a different base version of Platinum

    Can you add this Pokemon not encountered in Platinum ? Can you make it a 493 hack ?
    - No as it will not make them legit

    Is Manaphy obtainable ?
    - No, we can't replicate the Manaphy Egg event

    Can I use or modify Platinum Unlocked or its content ?
    - Yes of course, be sure to credit everyone please

    Will there be an update ?
    - Will try to correct a few bugs. Giving battle dialogues is easy but the graphical glitches may be out of reach for my skills...
    I also want to make the titlescreen logo look better, maybe remove poison damage from overworld

    How to patch :


    The patch need to be applied to a rev 1 (4997) version of Platinum

    - Download the zip file
    - Extract the .xdelta patch
    - Download Delta Patcher
    - Select your Platinum rom and the .xdelta patch then click patch
    - The new rom you get will be patched and ready to be played!

    Has the overall game speed been increased, like in Platinum Redux and Renegade Platinum? If not, how about doing it?

    Updated first post with the speed up patch, the normal patch can be found following the download link. I didn't test the speed up patch that much let me know if it causes trouble

    Also added the new shinys in a spoiler. Will edit latter today with the new teams for gyms and Elite 4
     
    What emulator do you need to run the game because I've got myboy and joiplay and it doesn't work on either of them

    Hi! The new encounters are at their classic Platinum habitat, like Growlithe at route 201 and 202 etc... I didn't put Wobbuffet, Solrock and Lunatone in the first lake as it was too early in the game

    I might include a doc with new encounters in the next update wich will come out soon

    I have slowly been working on V1.1 wich will have :

    Corrected Shellos/Gastrodon East not appearing on route 12, 13
    Corrected secret key location in the Galactic Basement
    Revised some teams and movesets on the rival, gym leaders and Elite 4 + champion
    Rematch rival every day, he gets his final team after 2 league victories
    Allowed Arceus to be battled/caught with the Azure Flute (given at ressort area, this Arceus will NOT be legit and therefore can't be trasnfered)
    Applied the method to see more shinys (1/257, will only display more Pokemon as shinys but won't be true shinys)
    Changed a lot more shinys, plan to change almost all final evolution, single stage and legendary shinys
    Rematchable gym leaders directly in their gyms after your first league victory, can be battled once and then reset every league victory
    Revamped Battleground, every trainer there can be battled over and over
    Added a boss fight with Cyrus in Turnback Cave

    Sorry for the inconveniance I didn't notice it while testing...

    Will move it for next version, but I think you should be able to go around it with the rock climb ? (seen in my screen)
    If not I will release a quick fix for you
    Its double with buck so we cannot rock climb, lol

    No need for quick fix, I've changed the save to original platinum (though need to teach HM strength & rock smash again, lol)

    Hello there, just beat Cynthia and I had a blast. Rushed here to type a few suggestions/requests before my mind cool down on the run, lol.
    1. About the Regional Dex bug, You can fix that by giving the National Dex at the start of the game. Post game instead of the National Dex, make Oak give us the Oak Letter so we can go and catch that sweet Darkrai;
    2. Talking about events, inserting one to gain the Gracidea Flower and a way to trigger the Cresselia event would be very cool;
    3. You can edit Route 210, lower level from Mt Coronet and Lost Tower to not require Defog. Also, edit Wayward Cave so it wont require Flash. This way those moves wont ever be needed to be teach and the HMless feature would be almost complete;
    4. The game became easier since you added more Pokemons to some regular trainers team. I was often overleveled compared to the next Gym Leader ace without grinding at grass, only battling everyone I could. I suggest raising Gym leaders levels by 1 every badge gained, so it would be +1 to Roark and ending +8 at Volkner. E4 would be +10. More on the level gain curve below:
    5. It is very frustrating to battle basic Pokemon at high level areas. Like a lvl 42 Wingull when it should be a Pelipper ages ago. I suggest forcing fully evolved every time the base form already was allocated in any previous trainer teams. This will increase exp gained while making it harder to 1 shot everything even at late game. If doing so some species would appear very often (cough Gyarados cough) I suggest changing some teams around. You did a great job with V1 and I am sure you can handle this as well. If you happen to implement this I will gladly replay the mod and give you insights about lvl changes for route trainers.
    Anyways, I loved your concept ideas and cant wait to see what you will bring next.

    The biggest changes are :
    Changed almost all shiny palettes, you have a 1/257 chance to have your Pokemon show as shiny (the same applies to other trainers). In the OP you can download a folder wich contains every sprite changes + some variations wich weren't used
    Rematchable gym leaders directly in their gyms after your first league victory, can be battled once and then reset every league victory
    Revamped Battleground, every trainer there can be battled over and over
    Added a boss fight with Cyrus in Turnback Cave

    In this update the second league is a lot stronger, every gym leader can be rematched directly in their gym and 1/257 chance that a Pokemon may appear shiny

    To answser your suggestions :
    1. Will look into it, it does seem to be the better way to fix it right now. Oak's letter can be obtained on the ground in the ressort area, same as other event items. Still, giving them by an NPC is better
    2. Gracidea Flower is obtained after capturing Shaymin and go talk to the girl I think ? Cresselia event is activated in vanilla Platinum through normal gameplay if I remember it right?
    3. Will look into it
    4+5. I agree with you, I will do a full 100% playtrhough to rebalance everything around and iron out the difficulty

    Edit 19/10/24 : Noticed a big bug it seems every trainers dialogue got shuffled up... I think VSMaker (software to update trainers dialogue) messed up

    Oh sorry to hear that...

    If you wanna replay please use the version attached to this post. In the previous release I didn't test everything and noticed too late that every battle dialogue got shuffled...

    The attached file is still a wip but contains :

    - Corrected every battle dialogues
    - National Dex from the start
    - Corrected some wild encounter levels that made some wild Pokemon not legit
    - Rotom can be caught during any time of the day
    - Cut some lines of dialogue (Rowan and Roark mentioning TMs limited usage and scientist guy saying Drifloon appears only certain days of the week)
    - Trophy Garden now only contains the daily encounters

    Right now I'm also replaying the game, I just got before the fourth gym and haven't noticed the game being easier ? At Roark my strongest mon was at his ace level (trained two mons), same for Gardenia (trained three mons). For Fantina I added a fourth mon wich was trained with the exp share, but outleveld by one her ace. My team wasn't ready for her, lost two times before winning with luck. Lost one time to Gardenia. These two have fully evolved mons whith high attacking stats, if you arent't prepared they will wipe you. So I think up to this point the level curve still holds pretty good ?

    I will wait for your feedback on level curve as I'm also recording every trainer teams in a doc. I'm still puting small changes as I go

    Looking forward to the formal release of V1.2 ! I'm curious to try it out, but the nat dex issue has me waiting for now. Plus the planned features look worth waiting for. :)
