Here is where you can discuss a surprise Evolution and its branched form's kidnapping in "Outrageous Fortunes."

    My review to come forthwith.

Sorry for lateness; the day was rather busy.

Su. This episode was kinda disappointing. I mean I kinda wish that Poliwhirl didn't evolve since it seem much more useful as a Poliwhirl the a Politoad. I think I would say this episode kinda place the nail on the coffin for Misty as in her future.

Well, after you get past the sheer randomness of her Politoed evoluting, the episode becomes really formulaic. If anything, I expected Poliwrath with her, as it more reflects her media nature (athletic swimmer, a fighter and the traditional fighting spirit with its Secondary Type).

Then again, maybe Politoed's gregarious nature was a sign, as Misty became considerably mellower by then. Shifty eyes.

I so agree. Poliwrath was so much more better fit for her since it is more of a figther. Still like you said and now knowing what we know now, Politoad was kinda a better fit, since she took the break apart harder then Brock and Ash, but really it just seems so much more active and out of touch from Misty.

Yeppie. It was really random evolution. Still I guess that made this episode different from a regular fillar episode to an important fillar episode.

Well, as many fans had said, it was Togepi that did her in. Although, Politoed's oddness wasn't sealed for a few more episodes.

Anyhow, Bulbapedia said on the episode entry about the Rockets' wire appartus on Wrath being similar as A.J.'s way back in Season 1. Yet, we haven't actually seen the guy since (not counting the 2nd OP, which doesn't count).

Oh, semi-early anime continuity, sometimes, you make my brain hurt. Heh.

Teeheehee Well anyways. I think that it was just the only way the writers could have gotten Politoad in the anime without having it belonging to the character of the day. Still on the topic as in what made Misty leave, maybe togipi was what brought her down but Politoad was the last nail on the coffin.

AJ had a Poliwraft? OO! Well that was very far back. Teeheehee I don't even remember that and I been watching the anime since it first began or at least seen the first episodes. Teeheehee

Right. Makes you wonder if they should done a Stone type evolution for it, instead -- Wrath's Evo is effortless compared to Toed's. If they just wanted to do an Evo, beats the convoluted setup of Whirl holding the King's Rock, then returned, then transferred over to the Center. Lots of variables there.

And, I'm sorry, I meant the weird wire get up, but, no, A.J., to my knowledge, doesn't have a Poliwrath. He seems to be more Bug and Ground types, including that Sandshrew that can kick just about anyone's butt. Heh.

Oh but there was that guy in the Orange Islands that had one.

Su. I kinda just thought that maybe Poliwhirl better fit Misty. He was scrapy! teeheehee I would have just gone for the cheerleader episode that we will have soon adjusted then to see politoad with Misty really. Su.

Indeed, should have left it alone, as I enjoyed its scrappiness.

And the cheerleader episode discussion will be posted in a few weeks, and what a weird one that was.

Going back on topic, considering most of Misty's Pokemon at that point haven't evolved (the egg, the duck), why evolve it then? It should have been addressed sooner or not, if at all. This becomes rather clear later on, as Misty doesn't know what to do with Toed (which the cheerleading episode elaborates on, to my knowledge).

Oh, this wa about Politoad. That's why I don't remember it. I remember it being boring, except for one part. Was this the one where they made Jessie do all those attacks? That was funny

I have a question.... was this broadcast in the US?!

I use CN's satellite feed (i.e. from the cable company jerks), and I didn't see it on the air. Was it broadcast a an unconventional time(i.e. not at 09:30* ET Saturday?)

*this is in 24-hour clock mode. It translates to 9:30 AM.

Yeah, it's that one. It was funny, and she's always one to do that, too. Heh.

Anyway, to the last poster, check out "Pre-Season Six Episode Discussions," for what we're doing here. The episode hadn't aired recently, but we're doing a discussion to catch up. Okies?
