I was incredibly hyped for this Pokemon, since the concept of dancing styles between Oricorio's forms was really cool. I always assumed the Oricorio each had a different type, which would then be counted as a different Pokemon with its own moveset and location.

It turns out you can change between the forms using coloured nectar from flowers.
And, going through the Bulbapedia page, it seems that all Oricorio thus have the same learnset, meaning it won't have any moves to match its type. If this is the case, the unique typing of the Oricorio is probably only used for type resistance and such (making Pom-Pom Oricorio the most versatile).
I'm perhaps a little disappointed. Can anyone confirm this firsthand? Thoughts?

Are the moves it can learn through TM or egg moves different? I would guess that type resistance and the moves it would be able to learn through TMs is what would make a person want to use this pokemon

Like what was said above, Oricorio seems to mainly be nothing more than a gimmick since outside of its Flying-type moves, its best STAB is Revelation Dance which matches the type of Oricorio's form. Having a good signature ability in Dancer does allow it to get a jump on opponents who use moves like Swords Dance and Quiver Dance though.

Nope. Choosing Oricorio all comes down to which typing you find more useful to put on your team and mostly due to Relevation Dance, as that's the only useful (well... aside from Hurricane) offensive move it has.

Ori is an okay pick for mid-game but past that it's... meh.

It actually makes sense as to why you cannot teach them the move from their changed types. You can change the form of the Oricorio you catch, so they would not want the pokemon to learn a physic move then change to the fire form

Yeah... Doesn't Revelation Dance change type depending on your Oricorio's form? So it does have that as a STAB move for each of the four types it can swap between.

Its moveset is pretty mediocre and I was a little disappointed also but that + a flying move is still decent for mid-game. Would have preferred their forms stayed as their own Pokémon though. I've already experienced a deeper level of form collecting via Vivillon in XY. ):
