I'm thinking about getting one of these games. Which should I get and why?

What are the advantages of each and the disadvantages of each?

There are only slight differences between the two, so it's just Pokemon preferences, really. The only "main" difference is that there are two evil teams--Team Aqua and Team Magma--and whichever version you get picks the one you are fighting during the story. This is because each team is trying to wake a different legendary Pokemon (the ones on the game boxes).

These are the Pokemon that are exclusive to each version: click here. However, it is very easy to trade for Pokemon that you want nowadays, as people will sometimes give them to you for free or for another version exclusive, so I would check out our trade corner if you want a specific Pokemon not found in your game.

I picked Alpha Sapphire because I like Kyogre better (the sea monster on the cover), and because Sapphire (the original Gameboy game that these are remakes of) was the first Pokemon game I owned.

I think I'll go with Alpha Sapphire, I had Sapphire too when it came out originally, I prefer AS's pokemon, how different is it to the original Sapphire version? and is it worth £32? Or would to get cheaper games be better?

How are the graphics and gameplay in comparison with XY? I loved the graphics and game[lay and how you could do stuff like riding on Mamoswine and Rhyhorn, do you get to do lots of stuff like that in ORAS too?

There are some small visual differences between OR/AS and the original versions, notably some locations getting revamped such as Mauville City and the Safari Zone. Characters have also had notable redesigns, such as Team Aqua, Team Magma, Brendan, May, Wally and the Gym Leaders. Cross-gen evolutions of Hoenn Dex Pokemon that were introduced in 4th Gen (such as Froslass, Gallade and Roserade) have also been added to the Hoenn Pokedex.

Riding Pokemon is still a thing... let's just say without spoiling that a certain HM gets replaced by a Pokemon in the game! I thought the graphics were on par with XY.
