We all know that the Omega symbol that Groudon carries means the Absolute End or "nothingness" and the Alpha symbol that Kyogre carries is the Absolute Start or "beginning" but what is the symbol that Rayquaza carries? Most of all what does it mean? Well ive taken time to look into it, and i find that Rayquaza carries the second symbol of Sigma meaning "Balance". Rayquaza is said to be the guardian of the 2. Or the "leader" when Kyogre and Groudon first fought to create land over sea or sea over land Rayquaza came in and stopped the 2 and balanced them out, Creating parts of land and parts of sea.
I just thought id come along and share the knowledge with the pokemon community.

Uh, well GF did trademark Delta Emerald so Delta may be it. Delta is symbolized by a triangle which can be used to represent Rayquaza as both a member of the trio, yet the internal master of the trio. Also Delta means change, and that is what's going on, the world is changing due to the other two. Also Delta can mean difference, which could explain why the land and sea of the Pokémon world aren't balanced. The difference between the two is what's being kept the same.

There was information that Rayquaza has something to do with Mega Evolution so Rayquaza may be added into the mix as well as Kyorge and Groudon.

Delta likely. It signifies change, a good middle point between the beginning and the end. Not to mention the trademark.

Actually Alpha, Delta, and Omega may be a reference to the progression of a story, the universe, and people go through. Something is created, it changes, then it ends.
I thought of those three like that for awhile, even before the games came out.

I have nothing linking these ideas to anything and I very rarely venture to this side of the forums but Kyogre could mean the beginning of Sea, and Groudon could be the end of sea. Without sea, humans probably wouldn't be able to live, but without land, everything in the sea is capable of surviving, thus destroying the sea also destroys the inhabitants of land. Rayquaza in this grand scheme of things is just trying to protect both sides of reality, land and sea. As well as that theres a whole idea that Rayquaza prevents sea levels from rising and fold mountains from rising any further than they already do and preserves air.

Still I always wonder how two pokémon have such an effect on each other. The same goes for Palkia and Dialga as when they clash reality collapses around them. It amazes me how such creatures have such immense power. Then theres Giratina who resides in the spirit world, and Rayquaza who resides in the sky, both being the third counterpart as such in order to bring balance and protect beings. This has nothing to do with Rayquaza's significance but it had me thinking.

I think Sigma would be a cool greek letter. Something like Sigma Emerald; it sounds way cooler than Delta Emerald, to be honest. :P

Rayquaza could be referred to infinity, which basically has neither a start nor an end. It's ability should be something like "Infinite Calm", which negates both of the other abilities and maybe adds some neat effect that Rayquaza can take as an advantage.

    Just my two cents.

I'd say that I agree with infinity representing a limbo state but I actually don't think that's so. I'd say that Rayquaza (and Delta) are representative of a neutral state of being and instead of there being "no start or no end," it's just that midpoint between the two in which nothing exists, or time itself doesn't progress or regress. That sounds more along the lines of a Celebi/Dialga theory, but that's just what's running through my mind atm.

Looking at images, its only the Primal's that have the Omega/Alpha symbols on them, and Rayquaza doesn't have a Primal as of this time. So the symbols being on them could just be a link to the game names and purely coincidental. Way I see things, Kyogre represents the Ocean, Groudon the land, and Rayquaza the sky/atmosphere. Together they are the three aspects of life, but separate they can destroy all creation.

I always thought that Rayquaza represented neutrality, though I'm not sure what Greek letter that refers to, if any. Groudon and Kyogre both inflict massive changes on the environment, and Rayquaza's job is to stop them from fighting, ex it is against change and likes to keeps things constant.

I don't think Rayquaza is against change as it would've stopped Groudon and Kyogre seperately before those two met and clashed.

It would be good to see what they will do with Rayquaza if they give him a mega no one knows yet I am looking forward to see what they come up with and in emerald there was a little cutscene where Rayquaza stood between groudon and kyorge
