Yes, i have just been playing my Mudkip only run and i caught a Zigzagoon as a Hm slave and i checked it and it was holding a rare candy, im sure you know Zigzagoons ability is "Pick up" which is the whole reason why this works so well.

Supposidly you can get upto 20 rare candies in a matter of hours by having a team of 6 Zigzagoons (which are pretty easy to capture). This is really good to know, you can get your Pokémon to level 100 this way without cheating or grinding the E4 constantly.

Anyway, all you need to do is.

    1. Capture 1-6 Zigzagoon.
    2. Battle wild enemies and run around in tall grass.
    3. Check your team every 5-10 minutes.

Ive only tested this on Sapphire but it may work on the other games, so there you have it. As many rare candies as you want, however Zigzagoon may be holding another item such as a Full Restore.

Happy Rare Candy Fishing! Im still suprised you get rare candies as a wild pickup item. ^_^

great.. i knew i could pick up rare candies (mainly with meowth) but i never considered this.

In Emerald, the higher you level up your Pick Up Pokemon, the better items you can get. At Lv91, you get the following:

    Hyper Potion
    Rare Candy
    Protein
    Revive
    HP Up
    Full Restore
    Max Revive
    PP Up
    Max Elixir
    Leftovers
    Earthquake

Granted there is only about 3-5% chance of getting either Leftovers or Earthquake, but I have a pretty good stash of both. There are just so many different reasons why Emerald is the best game out there.

While it is true that you can get different items in the Battle Pyramid, you can only utilize those items there. You cannot take them with you. That is why I failed to mention it before.

    Wonderful! Thankyou for this information.

I already knew this and besides I like to level up my Pokemon the hard way.

By the way thanks for sharing for everyone else who did not know!

I knew this, but i never tried it because its a waste of time.
most of the rare candies i used made my pokemon gain less "power" instead of the usual leveling up.
And i'm pretty sure that it takes more time finding a rare candy than just leveling up(depending on the level).
not only that, but in the earlier stages of the game, leveling up normally is just much faster.

isn't that also possible in Diamond and Pearl?

By "power" I assume you mean Evs?

You get no evs from rare candies so you should use them mostly after you get the effort ribbon.

You can just use Rare Candies after you EV train your pokemon

Not sure where you heard Rare Candy would make your Pokemon "lose power", but it is completely false. Rare Candy do nothing more than raise the level of a Pokemon by 1. There are not any adverse affects whatsoever.

Yes, leveling up by battling is easier in the beginning. There is definitely no comparison that farming for Rare Candy is much quicker than battling once a Pokemon surpasses Lv70.

The other benefit of Rare Candy is that it doesn't accumulate EV points, allowing you to EV train the way you want to, without having to use the berries to remove previously earned EVs.

I wouldn't know if DPP can do it, and frankly I don't care for that generation at all.

Okay thanks for giving us that tip. I haven't played emerald in so long I forgot where I am. I will post in the journeys section once I find out where I am.

Yea, I used this in Sapphire and also did the same thing in Leafgreen except with Meowths.
