    Do you give your pokemon nicknames? if so, what's your favourite nickname that you've given them? (you can also explain why you gave them that nickname)

    mine are=
    pikachu= Pikish or Pikips; .. i thought pikips was funny because it sounds like hiccups X33..
    Nidoking= Demolisher; .. i dont really know why.. ._. it fit perfectly though.. and when i put it on stadium it was like.. pure blue <3..
    Zapdos= Zappix; .. i dont know why i named my zapdos this either.. i thought it sounded cool
    Hoppip= Pippin; X33.. it sounded kyute!! :33

    my favourites are probably
    Absol= Kastrof; ..:3.. in the description, it said catastrophe pokemon.. so it fit ^^;;
    and
    charmander: Charcoalot; because it sounds like chocolate.. @@..

    Bulby~ Like omfg BULBY the Venusaur! xD
    Pirow~ Pirow the Fearow... I was thinking in Pillow when I gave her nickname o_o
    DaTa3~ DaTa3 the Porygon2...In Silver, My Porygon2's name was DaTa2, so DaTa3 xD
    Kya~ KYAAAAAA xD Its my Lapras, no real reason~ o_O
    Smith~ Smith, Aerodactyl, Aerosmith.... o_o
    Yawata~ Yawata is my Gengar... No real reason for Nickname, I just thought it'd fit xD

    Andy~ ANDY TEH BLAZIKEN!! xD

    I also give nicknames to every Pok?mon I catch, so its not easy to remember them all~ xD
     
    I named my Pikachu Pikapika once... but apart from that, no. My brother's the nicknamer in our family, he names all his after writers/actors from Doctor Who o_O. My friend has cool nicknames, I just can't remember them -_-

    i have a Rayquaza that i named Rei Ayanami ._.
    i thought it'd fit, and i was obsessed with Evangelion at the time
    (for people who dont know, Rei Ayanami is a character from Evangelion) ._.

    Unless they happen to be multiples of a pokemon species, then yes, I always give them nicknames. The main exception to this is Unown, since I'm not giving a name to all those variations. XD

    Some of mine:

    Mirai - nidorina (leaf green). The name means "future" in japanese, though it has nothing to do with the pokemon itself. :P It's just the name of an rp character of mine, and I picked that name for her just because I thought it sounded nice...

    Rhodonite - cubone (leaf green). A rhodonite is a kind of gem.

    Suzaku - pidgeot (gold). Named after the red bird of the south in chinese astrology.

    Pritz - eevee (leaf green), umbreon (gold). I think his name came from the name of the main male character of the one FF oav series... O_o If not, then it was inspired by it.

    Marth - dragonair (gold). From a certain Fire Emblem character. XD For no reason at all other than I liked that name.

    Monarch - butterfree (leaf green and gold). Named for monarch butterflies, of course. XD

    Naiad - quagsire (gold). Named after the fresh water nymphs of Greek mythology.

    Procyon - furret (gold). From Procyon lotor, the scientific name for raccoons. XD (Hey, he was a sentret when I caught him!)

    Definitely not all the names I've ever given pokemon, but those are some of my better ones.
     
    I ALWAYS nickname my Pokemon (except in Red Version...)

    Here are some of my favorites:

    Feraligatr = Totie (pronounced TOE-TEE)
    Swampert = Mudster
    Salamence = Slinko
    Chimecho = Cappy
    Ninetales = Miles
    Ho-oh = Rainbow
    Kyogre = Sapphire
    etc. there are WAYYYY more names...
     
    My Chimecho's nickname is JingleBELL~ xD
    But yes, I give a nickname to each and every Pok?mon I get... even the same species, even the Unowns~ o_o
    Its like, Unown A is called A, Unown B, B, and etc... xD
     
    Sometimes I nickname my Pokemon by their Japanese names, but here are some ones I pretty much like... (and some weird ones)

    Chimecho: Ping
    Muk: Yesenya (named after a girl in school I once hated)
    Koffing: Marijuana
    Torchic: Sunny Dee (isn't it cute?)
    Phanpy: Bigfatbaby
    Tangela: Alegnat (Tangela spelled backwards!)
    Jigglypuff: ****aki (lol--I named it after a mushroom?!) (EDIT: Why are there stars there instead? I didn't say a cuss word...)
    Alakazam: Mewtwo
    Pinsir: OUCH!!

    And there are others...

    As for me, I never really nickname my Pokemon... since I'll probably forget them later on when I need them in a battle XD
     
    Nicknames of the Pokemon in my team:

    Registeel: Heimdall [After the Norse God]

    Exeggutor: Garland [After the flower]

    Jolteon: Ladybug [Too hard to explain]

    Gyarados: Knave [See definition]

    ---------------------

    Magneton: Knell [See definition]



    Yeaaah, the ones before the line are on my team... Magenton is a replacement for Jolteon. And the other two pokes I forgot what their names are, so I will post them later. ;P
     
    My nicknames depend on my mood at the time. Generally, I go for names that echo what type or kind of pokemon it is i.e Swoop for a Taillow/swellow, things like garlic, brussels, kohlrabi, rosemary, shallot, thyme and so on for oddish and other grass types that look like plants. For bulbasaurs, I'd pick something like Vines. I tend to go for gender specific names, too.
    I'm a fan of Anne McCaffrey's Pern books, so most of my dragon type pokemon have been given Pernese dragon names, some from the books, some from the online club I belong to, some simply made up.
    Pokemon like numel, camerupt, slugma, magcargo, magmar tend to get volcanic names, either after volcanoes themselves, or volcanic structures e.g. Hekla and Toba for Camerupt, Maar and Scoria for slugma. Rock types get called after kinds of rock, like granite, shale, marble and so forth

    Legendaries tend to get named after something to do with thier elements:
    Arete and Glacier for Articuno, Thunder, lightning for Zapdos or Raikou, inferno for Moltres or Entei, Aurora for Ho-oh. I've got a Lapras called Nessie, a hitmonlee called JackieChan, a tyrogue called Cena, and my regis are called Litho, Glacio and Ferro. Groudon get Greek and Roman god names linked to Earth ie Pangaea, Rhea, Gondwana. Kyogre water god names like poseidon and Thalassa. My rayquaza get mexican god or mexican sounding namesi.e quetlcoatl, tleilaxu, and Tetlcoatl. The one exception to this was Slypher ( guess what? I'm a Yu-Gi-Oh fan too...)

    I ran a game on Sapphire once where every nicknamed pokemon was called after a region of London. Blackfriars for Sableye, Pimlico for Pellipper, and so on. I must have been barking mad... :confused:

    bulbasaur= bulby (yes same as Castrainer but i name my unowns like that aswell)
    psycuck= duxsey
    Catapie= Cat8pie
    squirtle= squirter
    ratatat= ratatit
    butterfree= butter-fly
    Togepi= Eggy pie
    spearow= sparrow
    pidgey= pidgeon
    typhlosion= spikey
    meditite= meditit
    camerut (cant spell)= humpthree
    Vaporeon= WaterDemon
    Ditto= Theabove (that was a strange one as ditto usualy means the same or as i put "the above")


    o ye and a called totedile= Dundee (CROCODILE DUNDEE)
    and ialso had the cartoon ones, zippo, happy and sparky

    edit: i can remember calling my lvl100 mewtwo caterpie. when my friend battled me he started laughing cuz it says i was sent out caterpie.

    and i got some more: Jigglypoof the jigglypuff.
    quite rude ones. another bulbasaur called ballsasore and another called boobysore. And wigglytuff called wigglymuff.

    I name all my unowns after their letter (unown N is named N) but that's because I give them all to my brother after I catch them. Unown are weeeeird.
    Ones I can remember:
    Tulisaur- Venusaur, cause it's a tulip on its back (when its a bulbasaur/ivysaur)
    Sleet- Vaporeon, thats freezing rain in case you didn't know
    Neige- Golduck, it means snow
    Avalanche- Golem, I think I got rid of this pokemon though
    Gem- Dragonair
    Iceberg- Marshtomp (yeah I have this thing for naming my water pokemon...)
    Soccer- hitmon-kick (forgot if they're chan or lee) I got rid of one, then got another one and named it the same thing, then I think I got rid of that one too.
    Obsidienne- Obsidian in french. We were doing a unit on rocks at school and slugmas look like lava; plus it just sounds cool. I got rid of this guy.


    The only pokemon I name are ones I am about to trade and my starters. And some of my favorites.
     
    i always call milotic nicknames based on their nature. if it's modest i'll call them harmonic. if it's careful i'll call it melodic. if it's adamant, i'll call it ogmented, and if it's naughty i'll call it diminished.
     
    I call my unknown by their letter-ex.-b unown-Bob
    a uknown-Arnold-you get it right.
     
    Fire-Tail: My Charizard (So increative!)

    Eve: My Vaporeon (Was when she was an Eevee. Never changed it.)

    Loser: Okay, so I didn't name my Pokemon this, but when I was younger (during Red/Blue/Yellow days) I always named my rival Loser, Doof, Stinker, Num. 0, and stuff like that.

    Binky: My Skitty's nickname

    Red-Spirit: My Duskull's name (He's a shiny. He is red.)

    Stink-Butt: My Koffing's name. I don't have him anymore though, I traded him.

    Greeny: My Golbat (She was also a shiny. She was green. The game got deleted, though...)

    Sunny: A good name for an Espeon! (Mine was a boy, though...)

    Jigglypuff= Giggles; because well.. iggles, jiggles, wiggles.. ._. i just HAD to put giggles :3
    Ratata= Ritz; like.. those cheese crackers :3.. Ritz Bitz <3
    Spearow= Pheerow; like.. Ph33r.. ._. the slang for fear.. er.. yeah
