5th Gen New Type V.S. Dark/Ghost Types...

    Hello all.

    We've seen a lot of threads speculating a new type to arrive in PKMN Black 'n White (but if it's already confired, pls lemme know, since I wasn't updated much)...

    Currently, this Dark/Ghost type combination has no weaknesses at all. So I guess it's about time for a new type to at least counter this combination...

    A dark type's weaknesses are fighting and bug types...
    But being part ghost type, fighting can't hit them, and bug's weak against ghosts.
    A ghost type's weaknesses are ghost and dark types...
    But being part dark type, ghost and dark are weak against dark types, making both attacks neutral.

    PKMN fans agreed and declined the idea of having a new type.
    Before, with the arrival of the new Dark type, and lately, with the arrival of the 5th generation, along with the spoiler of the two token legendary PKMN of each versions, fans cried out for a new type called 'Light'...

    So what do you guys think?
    If ever there's gonna be a new type coming in PKMN Black and White versions, will it counter the Dark/Ghost type combination?
     
    Nope, i dont think so.
    If they were going to have a new type i think that one of the first spoiler pokemon would have been of that new type.
     
    Or they could change around the typings weaknesses and resistances.... They won't make a Light type so no one say that "OMG I just got the bestest idea evar we needz the light types!!!"
     
    Errr...if GameFreak was ever going to make a Light type, they would have done it in the 2nd Gen games. Practically the only reason they made new types for the 2nd Gen (Dark and Steel) was to make the Psychic type less unbalanced and more "normal". Note how Dark is immune to Psychic attacks and how Steel resists Psychic.

    But I'm pretty much against new types. There's enough types as it is IMO...:/
     
    Well, for now there's only two Pokemon of that type: Sableye and Spirtomb. True, there's no double weakness for those two, but I don't think we have to worry too much about changing the type resistance or introducing a new type. If there are more of dark/ghost Pokemon, maybe. :P I think we'll be fine hitting Sableye, Spirtomb, and any new fifth gen Pokemon with that dual typing with new attacks. If we survived Phoebe and Cynthia, we can survive without a new type a bit longer. :P

    If you use Miracle Eye or Foresight you can hit them with a super effective move. No need for resistance changes or a new type.
     
    Doubt they'll introduce a new type at this point, and though it would make some fans happy, I doubt they would ever introduce a light type even if that were the case, because there would be a lot of people raging about it. While they'll rage about it anyway, at least they won't be complaining about something else, you know? Besides, it may introduce a *link removed* scenario, and I wish that page would quit growing as rapidly as it is. Though that one is my personal opinion.
     
    I agree, there should be a light type.
    Light should be good against both Dark and Ghost and maybe bug types too (most insects hate bright light).

    However I would be clueless on what light is weak to though, posible fighting or psychic.
     
    If Nintendo was going to add a Light-type, Reshiram would be Light/Dragon, correct?

    So no. Not like I wanted the "omg angelz hlaos and wnigs" type anyway...
     
    I thought Reshiram was going to be it, but no, it's a Fire type. SO, I doubt there will be a Light type. Unless there are mroe legendaries we haven't heard about.
