Mystery Gift/Event Pokemon for Dummies?

    hey, i just registered a few hours ago and cant really work the search thing too well so sorry if there is already something on this and dont be too harsh on me if there is.
    But i am very confused into how the mystery gift and event pokemon are obtained and how to get them etc, especially focusing on the new releases (Black and White)
    if anyone could break it down in an easy to understand way (Almost like a guide or tutorial) then i would be very thankfull :D
     
    Specifically for Mystery Gift..
    1. Start up your game.
    2. When it says to press start, press it to get to the main menu.
    3. From the Main Menu, scroll down to Mystery Gift.
    4. Select Mystery Gift, and then select Receive Gift.
    5. If it asks if the communication channel should be open, just click Yes.
    6a. If it is a Wifi event (meaning you can receive it from home), select Get Via Nintendo WFC.
    6b. If it is a Wireless event (meaning if you have to go to Gamestop or something to receive it), then select Get Via Wireless.
    6c. If you are doing it with a friend (so you need to be within range of each other), select Get Via Infrared.
    7. Wait for the Mystery Gift to be loaded, and then download it.
    8. Go to a Pokemart (or Pokecenter for Black and White, I suppose) to receive the gift. If it is a Pokemon, make sure you have room.

    I believe that about sums it up. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

    what pokemon or items can you recieve or is it different pokemon in specific dates? (e.g right now it is victini)

    so all i would have to do it start a game, and play up untill the stage of i get into pokecentres, then to the things that u said, go and when i speak to someone at a pokecentre they will just give me the pokemon?
    as simple as that?
    also can you recieve items and if so, what ones?
     
    You can receive Items, like right now Liberty Ticket is being distributed until April 10th. Which takes you to Liberty Garden to see Victini. In the past they had Oaks Letter and Member Ship Pass for Shaymin and Darkrai respectively.
     
    Yup. I'm pretty sure it's either always a Pokemon or an item that will give you a Pokemon. The only exceptions to this were the new routes for the Pokewalker in Heart Gold/Soul Silver, and the Lock Capsule (which is an item that hasn't been released yet).
