They're the objects that help you navigate about the screen of your computer, and come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and functions. Between mice, touchpads, and trackballs, which of these devices do you use the most? Which do you prefer the most? What are your overall thoughts on any of these devices and usage of them?

Between mice, touchpads, and trackballs. I find myself using mice the most. When it comes to computer mice, I prefer the wireless ones since there is no cord to get in the way. As for when deciding which brand of computer mice to use, I like Logitech brand.

I use a mouse exclusively; I've always found touchpads to be both imprecise and an absolute nuisance, and I don't think I've ever used a trackpad before...although looking at the picture, it just looks like a clunkier mouse to me. I'm quite happy with my little wired mouse, and I can't see that changing in the future~

I prefer using a mouse. Trackpads seems too unresponsive sometimes and a trackball... reminds me of those really old computers, lol. Don't think I've ever used one. Doesn't look to convenient to me.

Since I'm a PC gamer, I prefer wired mouse. It's more responsive and are less prone to crappy signal compared to a wireless mouse. Whereas a wired mouse can react better due to direct connection.

In terms of use - Wireless Mouse > Touchpad > Wired Mouse > anything else (I haven't used Trackball)

And I widely prefer wireless mouse even in terms of likability. But I don't have any problems with touchpads. For the previous 8 years, I've only been using notebooks so... touchpad pretty much became like mouse to me.

Mouse all the way for me if I have a choice. Preferably wireless ones since when I stopped using wired mice I'd had a bad habit of killing my mice within months and I was getting tired of replacing them that often. I wasn't even abusing them that much I swear.

Touchpads are...okay, I guess. My laptop has one to use (when I don't have a mouse to plug into it or I'm being too lazy to actually go fetch one), and I don't quite like the control of it compared to a mouse but it does the job well enough. I have no opinion whatsoever about trackballs since if I've ever used one it certainly was not mine and I have no desire to get one.

But yeah. Among those, mouse just seems the most natural for me to use. Then again, I've been using a mouse for the longest so I'm not really surprised at that.

    loltouchpads.

I've never used a trackball, and touchpads are silly, so my choice is mouse. I'm not a serious gamer, so I don't care about it being wired or not, but most of the fancy gamer mouses with lots of buttons and gizmos are wired...

Mouse all the way. I have used a mouse all of my life , so anytime I have to use a touchpad or trackball, I have a hard time navigating my computer screen, especially when scrolling. I think whenever I get a laptop of my own, I'll buy a mouse and use it instead. Preferably a wireless one since there's a more freedom in movement and I won't want to have to carry that cord every along with the laptop. Why do that when I can just put my mouse in my backpack pocket or pants pocket and laptop in my backpack and go? Wireless seems more convenient to me.

Back when I was younger, only computer I had access to was desktop, which had a set of mouse attached. Using was pretty comfortable, and gotten used to it a ton. Only thing that annoyed me, however, is when not paying enough attention, mouse would step out of its pad, and although lifting it up and putting the device back to its place took merely seconds, doing it constantly after every few minutes was definitely bothersome.

Few years later when I got older, parents presented me with a computer of my own--laptop. Default way to navigate through laptops are by using touch-pad, usually, including mine. It was sort of weird at first, and thought things to be a bit difficult as there wasn't enough space to handle things and whatnot, but it definitely grew on me. One advantage touch-pads have over mouses is that they don't require users to go through with the issue I've stated regarding making movements, which is nice. Hope I'm not sounding too confusing!

As for track-balls, they're all right, but unfortunately, I haven't tried them much.

I was curious about trackballs when I was younger but never really came into contact with them; they just don't make themselves a popular option, so to speak. Mice seem clearly superior to any sort of pad, the latter of which are often far too small, but I have just used a mouse for far longer.

Touchpad and trackpad are the same thing (at least for the purpose of this thread). The 'clunky mouse' is a modern trackball.

I never used mouse pads/mats unless I was at school where they made me. Really can't stand the things (mostly due to their curling up at the corners) and they don't serve much of a purpose anyway provided you're using the mouse on an appropriate surface; you can avoid using them with no consequence.

When I bought my laptop last year, it only took me about 2 weeks before I was sick of using the trackpad, so I went out and bought the cheapest wireless mouse I could find. Even when the batteries die in it, I'd much rather dig out my old wired mouse than use the trackpad for an extended period of time, as I never feel comfortable using it, and scrolling down pages is next to impossible, as my trackpad is very sensitive with that.

I've never had a chance to use a trackball, but I think I'm so used to the mouse at this point that I'd have a hard time switching over.

    Touchpads all the way!
I was never good with a mouse
    Seriously, I can't even game with a mouse x_x

Clickpads / Trackpads are the most awkward things. My laptop has a clickpad, and I am sill not used to it 3 years later...

My MacBook has been my main computer for four years, so trackpad.

Though I could never use a trackpad that's not multitouch.
