Modest Salamence vs. Adamant Salamence

I have always only considered using Adamant Salamence because its ATK stat is highr, it has a solid STAB move (Dragon Claw) and the type coverage of Earthquake and Stone Edge. It also has access to Swords Dance and Dragon Dance, for powerful sweeping.

However the other day someone suggested Modest Salamence to be a much better choice. Their main argument was Draco Meteor.

I was just wondering, what do other people think? Modest or Adamant?

Depends. One of the most dangerous things about Salamence is you never know what set it's running. You might switch Blissey into a surprise Dragon Claw when you are expecting Draco Meteor. The reason people like special Mence is because Draco Meteor is only resisted by one type, and that type is usually focused on Def rather than SDef.

I like Adamant mence. But I really like Specsmence by far

There isn't a better Salamence. They're both equally good. It just depends which role you need for your team.

Yeah, it's a team thing. There are other Salamence sets too, there's a CB set and DD set for physical, there are support sets, and there's always mixed Salamence. None of them are better than others, it only depends on your team.
