3rd Gen Meteor Falls

In Hoenn, there's a big cave known as Meteor Falls. Here, you meet Dr. Cosmo and run into the evil teams. You also can get Bagon here after you are able to get a Surfing Pokemon. Other cool Pokemon here that live within are Solrock and Lunatone. The lore of Meteor Falls is also expanded upon in the Delta Episode. You can also battle Steven here in Emerald.

What did you think of Meteor Falls? I love the aesthetic. No other Pokemon cave location will ever beat the look of this place.

The funny thing is that this generation, when it's not about all the water, the non waterlogged areas are actually really interesting and diverse. There's volcanoes, rainforests, a cirty in the trees, and so on. Even the log town was nice and it'll be cool to see another city/town where it is located in a watery area.

Meteor falls is... well, nice, though not the most memorable area in the region. I mostly remember it as the place to catch the psuedo legendary after getting Waterfall.

I gotta agree with Palamon in the fact that it's really hard to top Meteor Falls as a cave area! Back in Gen I-III, the cave areas looked like, well, caves, and were never really given unique aesthetics and devleoped upon. Meteor Falls was a nice change to that and really worked well in Hoenns vast ecosystem, it really stood out the first time I played through Emerald. Plus, Game Freak gave the player good reason to explore it properly in the post-game with Bagon, and it actually expands into a large area after waterfall is unlocked.

If i had to be honest, i never really cared much about Meteor falls during my playthroughs of Hoenn as a kid. I was more focused on just beating the Elite 4 and going through the Tower/Frontier. However, upon my recent playthrough, i actually wanted to use a Bagon on my team, and man, exporting meteor falls was a treat as it really gave off an aesthetic yet mystical vibe with the soundtrack and tiles gamefreak used. In short, i grew to appreciate it as i grew older.

I mostly remember it's the place to battle Steven in the Emerald post game.

It's the only reason I've ever gone back after rescuing the scientist.

Meteor got a lot more real in Emerald when they really gave the place a "space" tone instead of the sandy kinda backgrounds in RS. The backdrops were darker and legitimately scared me as a child. This was unfortunate, as I considered Emerald to be the best Gen 3 game, but was forced to go through this place every playthrough.

I remember my first postgame exploration of Meteor Falls. I think I heard there is really rare legendary Pokémon on top and tried to get there, only to find out there is no top and the really rare legendary Pokémon is actually Bagon. I also thought there is secret area that can be accessed only at exact time just like Shoal Cave. I spent so much time there. Nowdays I usually just do the story stuff there and never return.
