    Many people think you should run CB plus Peck/Ice Shard, or both, just for the pleasure of kicking Heracross's ass. However, I think you should only have either Ice Shard or Peck, and focus on another omnipresent Threat that trys to.. Obviously, pose a Threat to Mamoswine..

    Mamoswine @ Choice Band / Life Orb / Occa Berry
    Trait: Snow Cloak
    EV's: 56 HP / 252 Atk / 200 Spe
    - Earthquake
    - Light Screen
    - Substitute
    - Reflect / Stealth Rock. Made some minor adjustmunts to Smogon's Set. But either way, EQ is pretty much needed. Take Down with CB has potential, but Rest is what i'm aiming for here. But if I use Rest, I'll have to make the Ev's for HP increase. I'll use this on Shoddy. What is your idea on the HP, how many should I use? Ice Shard for STAB, Reflect to make my Team have some support, and to make Mamoswine himself, more durable. Earthquake, as mentioned, is needed. Why? For type coverage. However, i'm getting the feeling that just because It's super effective, I should run a Occa Berry, for even more durability, and just EQ it. But then, I wouldn't be able to KO it. So yeah. I need your opinions, guys. Made a pretty long post, but I'll going on even further... Can't be a analysis without that, no? XD. I'm thinking Light Screen for even more Team support on the 2nd Slot, it would provide durability. Heck, if I run Rest, Sleep Talk is another option for the final Slot. Despite the various ways to go, Mamoswine doesn't have such a low movepool.. I could run a Special Moveset, but his Physical Movepool is just to wide to let that go to waste.. :P Endure is kinda.. Lol. Too bad he doesn't have Reversal. You know what I'm thinking? Roar. Plus he has Stealth Rock, so I run something with that and w/ a Focus Sash. Yet some more proof that he has a wide movepool. :P Curse is an option. But Curselax does it better, and that's not good. I'll stop here. Tell me your opinions on this. Edit: Decided to use Samson's Set, and to put Occa Berry as an option.

    I know, I listed that as an option. However, Peck doesn't get STAB. Still, it does get 4x Super Effective, so you're right. i'll list that as an option. Thank for the advice.

    Stone edge and blizzard can function fine with mammy.

    Facts next time? And Stone Edge + EQ isn't exactly the best thing. Blizzard I'm kinda doubting.. Looks kinda flawed on Mamoswine. And to be honest, Ice Shard is better. IMO.

    Stone Edge is needed so you can hit Gyarados and Weavile switch ins. Without it you're going to fall prey to both of them. Take Down / Rest is lol. Stone Edge pl0x.

    Who plays Mamoswine in OU Tier, more importantly, if you did, wouldn't you just switch out? O_O It's part of Competitive Battling, learn it, use it. Edit: Never mind the first part, Mamoswine is OU.

    How ironic from a guy who copies freakin' everything from Smogon, but don't use Stone Edge when it's the standard moveset.

    And how ironic of the scenario you just placed down.


    I said switch ins unless you want them to continue to wall you, you'll put Stone Edge. Take Down really takes my outlook of you down to -50% and Rest is more lol if your Mamoswine isn't bulky enough, and has Sleep Talk. Being able to identify the uses and uselessness of something is also part of competitive battling.

    The parts in Bold are Anti-Pop's lines.
     
    strangely enough, after trying to make mamoswine work all this time, it really only seems best for support w/ reflect and stealth rock. of course, i run this set with ice shard and substitute as well.

    Somebody who doesn't flame. This day is turning around. :/ Thanks, though. I'll make the changes.....
     
    i'm not asking you to change the set. CB might work, but it constantly switches out because of its weaknesses. i was just pointing out that it can be become most useful when it wards sweepers in after setting a sub, set reflect or stealth rock, and either attack (especially if the guy is using Close Combat) or switch out. earthquake could be a decent replacement for stealth rock if you have someone else doing that.

    Hmm. Yeah, I'll replace EQ with SR. But I made the changes, beause I didn't have Sub. Also because.. Yeah. And I forgot to add Sub in.. :/ Edit: What EV Spread do you run?
     
    o.O i don't think you get what i was saying. i said earthquake would be a replacement for sr, not the other way around.

    but yeah, i give it enough hp evs to hit 101 subs, some def, and atk.

    And repeat after me, ONE moveset is NOT an analysis, EVER.

    And why is CB an option when you have sub, SR, and pseudo-passing moves? O_o
     
    no, i meant the general CB moveset... yannow, ice shard/eq/stone edge/blank.
     
    Blizzard is for hail teams when it hits 100% of the time and also, blizzard hits skarm harder than ice shard but is not used in standard but is an option.

    Hail Teams are all Novelty. Nobody serious would run one.
    I'd usually go nuts with Mamoswine sets, but I think everyone's been covering them, and besides, I'm tired.

    Choice Scarf is what I commonly run. He might not be as beasty as a Choice Band Attacker, but my god, Mamoswine is awesome. That's the only way to basically use it if it's not novelty.
