    So, I picked up the Enigma Stone pretty much right when it came out, but because of life getting in the way, didn't get a chance to try to catch Latias (I have SS) until yesterday. I was looking through my Pokeball collection, trying to see which one would be the most fitting for Latias. I came across the Love Ball, which I have yet to use to catch anything, and thought it would be perfect. I see that it has an 8x catch rate for pokemon of the opposite gender of the same species. So my question is: are Latios and Latias the same species? If I have Latios at the front of my party, do I get an 8x capture rate?

    I suppose, while we're on the subject, does it work with Nidoran males and females too?
     
    Yeah above is right, it would make more sense for them to be the same species but the game treats any Pokemon that has a different name as a different species even if the story says they're brother and sister. Sorry.
