[Intro] Looking for original 151 Pokémon Rom

    Hello!

    I've been looking all over for a ROM that allows you to collect all 151 original Kanto Pokémon with updated graphics but I cannot seem to find what I'm looking for. I thought I had found one but there were many glitches that impact gameplay too negatively. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Here is the criteria I'm hoping can be met:

    1. Can obtain all original 151 Pokémon without the need for trading
    2. Has upgraded graphics (like FireRed)
    3. That's it!

    I'm 34 and was hoping to get a nostalgia fix playing one of my favorites as a kid. Is there anything out there like this? Thanks!

    By the time the next generation of Pokémon came out, I had moved on to other interests. I played Gold/Silver a little bit but was not familiar with it the same way I was with Red/Blue.

    I take it you haven't played any Pokemon games after GSC then?
    Any interest in picking it back up at all or will you be sticking to just Kanto?

    I personally dropped Pokémon a bit, after Generation 3, but later went back for some official and fan made games and enjoyed them greatly. I never truly left! I can recommend you some like Black 2 / White 2 (the one with the best means to train a full team among other things), as well as some great fan games, if you want.

    Thanks the the response! No, I never went past the gold/silver and even then it was a very brief period. There are so many generations out now that I really don't have the time to learn about all of them. I was really just hoping for a nostalgia fix 🙂I'd like to stick to just Kanto or really just anything that has the original 151 Pokémon as those are the ones I remember. I
    Played FireRed and beat it and thought it was great. I liked how the islands came as post-game which helps keep the feel of the original alive. I tried Lightning Yellow but I'm already past Lt. Surge and I've only gotten Bulbasaur from talking to someone in Pallet town. No sign of any of the other original starters. I also tried Thunder Yellow but you can't jump down ledge and I don't know if it would even be possible to finish the game like that.

    I was really surprised, for as many hacks as there are, no one has done something like this. Anything even close to what I was hoping to find? Thanks again for the response 😁
     
    I'm close to your age (32 years old.) Like you, I grew up with the original Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow as well as Gold, Silver and Crystal versions.

    I got out of Pokemon after turning 12, but man it was one of the highlights of my childhood.

    I used to love playing the gameboy games and I was into the card game for a while. Fun times!

    I can relate to just sticking with the original 151.

    It's harder to get into the newer games, if you're not familiar with the new Pokemon.

    Sorry! I was caught up with RL matters and missed your question... I do not know a fan game close to this, sorry. But I wish you good luck in finding one that suits you!
