I love this community! So many incredibly good games can be found here. I started out downloading ROM hacks a couple years ago, and have since moved to RPGXP games on my PC (Asus ROG Ally), and I have yet to find another site with a selection of games like this. Also trust. The trust built up by this community goes a loooooooong way when deciding where to go look for a game.
I use the name PokeBanq (pronounced Po-key-Bank) for pretty much anything Pokémon related, so maybe we've traded or raided together in one of the cartridge games. I've been all in on Pokémon pretty much since the beginning. My first experience playing any of the games was all the way back in 1995 (yes, I realize I'm showing my age) when a school friend passed me a 3.5" floppy and said "Dude! You gotta check out this crazy game from Japan! It's only half translated, but it's really fun. You go around catching these animal or monster looking things". The rest is history. I got Pokémon Red for Christmas 1996, and that was that. I don't venture away from the core games, when playing cartridge games, although I am interested in fan-made projects that do.
I have tons of available time, and I love to talk Pokémon. I'm always on the hunt for fan games or ROM hacks that present the series in a new or unique way, and I have certainly found a few projects here that fall into that category. I absolutely love story driven games, and just finished the latest beta release of Pokémon Unbreakable Ties. I can't remember if it's 4.5.6 or 4.6.5, but holy smokes I can't wait til beta 5 hits (hopefully) later this year. I also just started playing Reborn for the first time and I'm really looking forward to this one. I know it kinda stands on its own and tends to be at the top of a lot of lists, so I wanted to give it at least one play through. I also have Rejuvenation, and have started a file, but I will likely hold off until I finish or reach late game in Reborn. Some other projects I have downloaded but may or may not have started yet are Pathways, Salt & Shadow, Rosen, Atlas, and Everlasting Orchard. I'm super stoked to start Everlasting Orchard, but also a bit intimidated because it seems very deep and very involved. So I might hold back for a time when I'm not super invested into another first time play through.
Whew. That went way longer than I meant. I don't get to talk Pokémon stuff very often, and when I do it all kinda just falls out. Can't help it, I love these games!
Edit: It seems I made an intro post over a year ago on the chit-chat thread. I completely forgot about that, so please forgive the erroneous title of this post >_<
