2nd Gen Koga and Janine!

So, in the first generation of games, Koga was the poison type the leader of the Fuchsia City gym. However, sometime after the events of RBY, he became a member of the Indigo Elite Four and left his gym under the leadership of his daughter Janine.

This is a small change, but what did you think of this? I personally thought it was pretty cool to see a character like Koga go from a gym leader to a member of the Elite Four. Leaving the gym to his daughter Janine was also a nice touch!

Also, who do you think was more challenging as the leader of the Fuchsia City gym? Koga or Janine? :3

I thought it was cool to see his own daughter as a Gym leader

The gym however was not that hard at this point of the game Since most of my team members had a much higher level than The pokemon Janine had

I like the gym fight against Koga much more it gives more of a challenge to the player
I even had my team faint once or twice when i first played Pokemon Yellow.

None of them, they were both laughably easy. The post-game Kanto gyms were too easy imo.

I have no problems with these gym leaders, they go down pretty easily. But it is pretty cool to see his daughter take his place as leader, always interesting to see characters related to another. :)

I had a much harder time with Koga in the Gen 1 games and their remakes than I did with either Janine or E4 Koga. For both of those I had a pretty high-level team and it was easy to type-trump both of them.

I really like seeing sequel games change up the Gym Leaders in interesting ways, it's definitely cool that his daughter took his place, although it makes me wonder exactly how Gym Leaders are chosen.

I didn't really feel any sort of reaction to these two because I hadn't played gen 1 beforehand. I'm sure it was really neat to those who had played gen 1 to see Koga as part of the Elite Four, and then to find his daughter had taken over his Gym! Regardless, I think it's a cool dynamic. Seeing families being part of the regional League system is pretty cool.

I thought it was a neat touch, plus Koga was more of a challenge as an Elite Four member than he was a Gym leader (though that may partly be down to Gen I's horrendous balance issues with Psychic types).

Janine was.. ehh... no more or less of a challenge as her father was, tbh.

Koga was more challenging but I've always preferred Janine! I really like how GSC kept the same character from a previous game but moved him to a different position and also introduced a family member. It gave them more personality imo.
