I went to the theater today with a bunch of friends and saw the new Monogatari movie.

The animation and sound design was excellent. Probably the best of SHAFT's works so far. Ending was a little unsatisfying, but there'll be two more parts.

Will download the films and then never watch them when they're out blah blah blah.

I've read the novel and loved it. Not sure if three movies are necessary for such a short novel, but whatever.

Any ideas when the BD/DVD will be out?

Doesn't look like they've announced yet, looking around. We probably won't hear about the BD/DVD announcement for at least a month or two from now. Probably. There was a false-listing on Amazon, though.

Completely forgot that it was showing here, but I didn't really have much way of seeing it. Nothing was particularly local. Any IRL friends that follow Monogatari are stuck back in Bake/Nise because Mono's pretty daunting. 'Course, these are the type of guys that, at least in group viewings, can easily switch their attention somewhere else, so a roadtrip wasn't really in the cards.

Granted, this is the one instance where their position in the show wouldn't have mattered.
