    Yet I seemingly can't browse a thread on here without somebody singing her praises. She has undoubtedly had good roles and at times shown some range but for the most part it is that one voice over and over again in every other show. What gives?
     
    That *somebody* is 99% of the time Satoshi. I don't think anybody else praises her all that much. I personally share your opinion when it comes to her. Much prefer Romi Park (or Paku, whatever) and Kugimiya Rie over her.
     
    You got a point there, Laptrap. She's getting a whole lot of roles this days.

    If it was just Satoshi I probably wouldn't have called it out but it has been a couple of other people as well. I just don't see it, I suppose.

    Okay, on topic. It's BECAUSE it's the similar voice all over again, it's great.
    Not only you can immediately recognize her but it's always cute voice no matter who she voices.
    She may not have the biggest range, but that's what actually adds to her charm.

    I was talking about Pokécommunity specifically. Not in general. Because I'm aware of HanaKana craze in general.

    @Satoshi - Not being versatile enough is usually considered a negative when it comes to voice actors, imo. Having a good range allows them to portray a wider range of characters. Which is what makes them so damn amazing. In this regard, I personally think VAs who've played ridiculously different roles and managed to add personality to those specific roles deserve a lot more praise and respect. Someone like Kawasumi Ayako (Megumi Noda / Saber / Natsuki Mogi - highly distinct roles with her voicing them accordingly) or Kugimiya Rie (Alphonse Elric/Truth from FMAB and Kagura from Gintama), imo, stand above someone like HanaKana. But that's just me.

    Also yeah, popularity lists/polls are mostly uhh, idk, I don't really care much for them I suppose? :p

    Considering Kana's popularity... yea, it's just you :P

    And if you go a bit to past, you would see that Kugyu was pretty on popularity wave like Kana is now =D Well, Kugyu is good, that's for sure =D
    But there's no one who stands above Goddess of voice acting :P
     
    Popularity =/= how good they really are. If that logic worked then Justi....yeah, you probably know what I'll say now. So yeah, nope. Popularity isn't really a good way to gauge the skill of a VA. :v

    meaning you accept the inevitable fate that your goddess is merely a goddess temporarily and will sooner, rather than later, be overtaken by another who will be the goddess of a lot of other people like you? :p

    Don't get me wrong, people. I like her voice. She's sweet. And sometimes she does roles outside of her comfort zone and I really enjoy those as well. I'm just not a part of the "HANAKANA" brigade like Satoshi is, that's all. :v
